#2 - Heavens Arena x A Plan To Make Money

"No problem, I'll try to help you, if I know the answer of course." - replied the old man.

The boy smiled upon hearing the answer from the kind old man.

"As you can see by how I am dressed, I have had a few problems, what I would like you to indicate to me is the name of this city and the country." - said the boy.

The man stared at him a few moments before answering.

"Boy, do you have amnesia or something?" - replied the old man.

"Yes, I woke up here without remembering much, just my name and a few other things." - He said again.

"Then let me clarify some doubts for you. We are in the eastern sector of the continent, the Republic of Padokia, and this city is internationally known for the Coliseum of the sky also know as Heanvens Arena. Does this sound familiar to you? " - The old man said, taking his time while specifying each thing.

"Hm. I see, I am definitely no longer in my world, I have no fucking idea of what the Republic of Padokia or this coliseum of heaven is. I'll have to find out later. Now my priority is to get some money, maybe I should look for a job until I know a little more about this new world. " - thought the young man.

"I really don't remember anything about this kind of arena, nor about this country." - Shakal said, in a low voice.

"You must have forgotten about it, Heavens Arena is world famous." - explained the old man.

"I see, thank you very much for telling me sir, one last question, is there any kind of adventurer's guild or any company that is interested in hiring workers?" - Asked the boy.

"With a guild, I suppose you mean the hunters association, although to enter you will have to pass an exam so I don't think it's what you're looking for right now. I have no idea about any company that is looking for workers, but if you want to get money, the fastest way is to go up the floors of the coliseum. You seem to be very strong, so you shouldn't have any problem to do it. " - replied the old man.

"What do you mean by going up the floors, if you don't mind telling me." - The boy asked again.

"The coliseum is divided into different floors. In them the fighters or martial arts master fight against each other, always in individual combats. The more battles you win, the further you will climb in the tower. " - said the old man. "The good part of that is that as long as you win you will receive cash prizes. I have heard that starting from the 100th floor you start to earn a lot of money, the fighters of the floors above one hundred are, for the most part, millionaires. " - he finish saying.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

"I see, thank you very much. You are very kind, take care of yourself. " - The boy said as he said goodbye to the old man.

"Goodbye boy." - he finished saying.

On the way, the young man thought of various strategies to deal with his current situation.

"First, I have no money. Second, I have no family or friends. Third, I don't even have a place to sleep tonight. " he thought to himself. "The million dollar question is, should I go to the coliseum or just find myself a normal job. I think that with my body in this state I could try my luck in the coliseum, and if everything goes well I could earn some money. Even if I don't have any experience in combat, if everything goes well and I can win some battles, I could sign up to learn some martial art. "

The boy followed the directions of the people, until he reached the coliseum.

"Hm. Basically it's the damn biggest construction I've ever seen! " - he screamed in his mind.

Upon entering, the young man observed several people forming a line to register. He askes for the last person in the line, and he patiently waited until his turn came.

"Good morning, how can I help you?" - Asked one of the two girls,

"This girl is an idiot, obviously I'm here to sign up." - thought the boy. "Good morning, I would like to sign up." - he finished saying.

"Here is the form, when you finish completing it, let me know." - The girl replied, handing to him a sheet and a pen.

A few minutes later, the boy handed to her the form.

"We will check the data again to see if everything is in order. Your name is Shakal Morningstar and you are twenty years old. Right?" - asked the girl.

"Yes." Shakal replied.

"Very well, we also ask for the name of the martial art you practice, but I see that you have left it blank." - The girl said again.

"Yes, I don't practice any martial art." - replied the young man.

"I see. Very well, finally we just need to take your photo and you will have everything in order. " - The girl said as she indicated the way to Shakal.

After several more minutes, and to the young man's surprise, they already had his fighting license ready for him. They also warned him that his fight would start in half an hour or so.

Shakal made his way to the locker room. He was still wearing his pajama top and pants. And honestly it was starting to bother him the way people looked at him. Luckily for him, robes of various types of martial art were free in the locker room for all contestants.

Shakal dressed in a karate robe, and sat on the sidewalk to wait for his fight.

Time passed, and suddenly a young man, about twenty-five years old approached him.

"Hello, your first time here?" - asked the boy.

"Yes, my name is Shakal." - He replied while waving his hand at him.

"Eden, a pleasure to meet you." - The boy said returning the greeting.

"And tell me Eden, is this your first time here too?" Shakal asked.

"Yes, I am here to get some money. I had certain problems with a dojo and right now I am broke. " - Eden said, totally sincere about his situation.

"I see, I am also here for the same reason." Shakal said.

After a while of silence. Eden asked.

"And tell me, Do you consider yourself strong?"

Hearing the question, Shakal doubted whether he should answer truthfully or simply tell a lie.

"Hmm, you will see it in due time." - Shakal replied, giving his words a touch of mystery.

Eden upon hearing the answer, simply smiled without saying anything else.
