“Are you going to complete the contract, A? I still need the information on that monster thing you used.”
The young man driving asked while the murderer who sat next to him took off his mask. The two sat in a levitating car strolling in the dead of the night in a gloomy metallic suburb. The driver was outfitted in a uniform cap and jacket. Fitting the persona of a taxi driver to avoid any suspicion from bystanders.
“I used the power of the undead creature, ‘Slender.’ Supposedly a ghost of an important person who died among unknown circumstances”
“So is this possession power unique to your class, Possessor?”
Possessors, one of the three major classes of summoners. Like their name implies, they can possess the power any creature as long as they have their souls, or when it comes to higher beings, part of their soul. However this requires the creature in question to have their soul torn out of their corpse, or a hefty bargain with the gods. Because of this few people use this class much less know about it at all.
“Yeah, so unless you want to change classes it's not something you should look into, J.”
Most of the time in order to switch classes, the person has to accomplish some quest and find a willing scribe who will usually jack up the price really high. Since its expensive, most people rather earn their second class than go through all the trouble.
“Oh well, the split is 60-40 so where is the cash?”
A small portal appeared in the backseat. Peering inside reveals an assortment of compacted microchips all neatly organized by name on a metal security rack. Each chip could store vast amounts of stored fiscal data. If stolen, exclusive access to accounts typically vested in the power of the banks could be abused.
“It all seems to be encoded so you will need to take it a hardware specialist to open it.”
The driver sighed then spoke. “Well easy pickings aren’t exactly easy as people say.”
“Where are you headed after this affair,A?”
“Probably escape the country in a few hours. Maybe sell off this data after I find stability.”
“So where are you---”
The sentence was cut short by the abrupt sound of sirens and flashing red and blue lights.
“Well shit, the fuzz is here. Hey, A, can you do some of that possessing thing to keep us clear?”
“That’s why I’m here.”
Akieal opened the sunroof and climbed up after grabbing his sword.
“Come to me, Slender!” Akiael yelled out as an illusion of a faceless pale man in a business suit appeared behind him with ungodly tentacles reaching out in all directions.
The view could be seen a trio of helicopters flashing a spotlight upon the escape vehicle with guns ready and aimed. Meanwhile a quad of cubic machine with multitudes of weapons approached the robed man and his stash at an incredible rate.
As the helicopters fired, Akiael stood his ground and took out a Grimoire.
“Unholy Protection” As the chant was said the bullets raining near Akiael reflected off an invisible field.
A larger Fifth machine rolled up behind the other four which seemed to indicate that it was the one giving orders or had valuable importance. Through the glass of the cube shaped vehicle, a group of 9 people with a clearly defiant
Suddenly the cubes each opened their tops in a coordinated fashion to reveal large, tank-like guns aimed at the escape car with a gunner ready to aim.
“A, get those Cubicals off our back.”
Akiael closed his eyes and concentrated. Then the true nature of his summoned creature was revealed as the summoner shouted, “Illusion of the Lost.”
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
The soldiers who previously aimed their guns at the getaway vehicle aimed at each other with their pupils rolled back in a spark of insanity.
“AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA”
One of the gunners laughed in madness as he shot his fellow comrades and fell in turn.
Four of the cubic vehicles exploded as they shot each other.
However eight more cubes continued to roll up attempting to fire at the vehicle.
The helicopters started to take action and bombarded the vehicle with flashes of rapid energy.
“Better do something A, our makeshift armor can’t hold up for long.”
Akiael then revealed a array of knives and homemade explosives under his coat and with a little support of the power of Slendy threw an explosive up at the helicopter.
Which then missed as the helicopter dodged with ease, yet the explosive struck two of the cubes.
“Worth a shot.” The launcher whispered to himself.
However the helicopter fire began to focus onto him.
“Tsk.”
Akiael then jumped from the getaway car on top of the different cubes attempting to fire at him which caused the helicopters to inadvertently fire at their ground support. All the while Akiael made his way to the large cube.
Akiael then stepped on a ramp in front of said vehicle and grasped onto the window using the tentacles of the pale man.
“HOLY HELL” The driver freaked out losing control of the wheel while a short haired blond lady with one eye and a military vest grabbed a pistol and shot at Akiael while shoving the driver off and taking control herself.
“You there, prepare to route the culprit.” The women pointed at one of the few soldiers in the vehicle with her. “Yes Ma’am.” The soldier started to launch the mounted plasma cannons on top of the vehicle.
“You there, get him out of here” She spoke as she pointed to Akiael who was glaring with a nasty smile directly at the woman.
As the man fired on the caped man, he fell off and was nowhere to be seen with the feeling of a bump shortly after the criminal was shot down.
“All units prepare to commence Plan B.” On man spoke into the radio set on the interior of the vehicle. The helicopters began to surround the getaway vehicle preventing any movement via aerial fire.
“Squad B, are preparations ready?” The women spoke into a headset. “Yes Ma’am.” A voice came through in response.
The Cubical continued to chase the getaway vehicle down the road until the sight of red and blue flashed off the metallic spikes and electric fence set to stop the getaway vehicle.
“Damn it.” The man known as J knew that the end may be in sight as he was forced to push the brakes.
As the chase narrowed its end both the culprit driver and the lead investigator met face to face.
“I’ll admit that it was difficult to predict the specific time the robbery took place, but your crimes end here.” The blond detective spoke as she walked out valiantly from a successful capture.
“Erika Ganbus, the Industria Republic’s officer turned investigator, what a pleasure to meet you and your lovely one eye.”
The investigator struck the driver in the private area with her foot, displaying her fury towards the man’s comment.
“Flattery will get you no where, your ring has tried so very hard and I’ll admit it was hard to track you, but in the beginning of the end is here for the Socrates Group starting with you, Jion Wallace.”
Sweat was visibly seen on J’s face, as the detective’s soldiers aimed at him while he was recovering from that sensitive kick. ‘Damn it A, didn’t kick the bucket yet did he?’
“Now you have two options, surrender and you get a lighter punishment of casual water boarding. Or we do this the hard way and extract the information from your brain.”
“I’ll pick option number three.” The man spoke just before the vehicle responsible for ending the chase exploded into pieces. With a half-masked man with a tire mark on his coat walking from the flames.
“Men, fire at will!”
“Truth of Man!” The scathed man shouted as his eyes seemed to flash as the soldiers staring at him turned into madmen.
“Why do we fight?” One man yelled. “Why do we fear?” Another yelled. “Why do we spite another?” One from behind the barrier shouted. Suddenly the men started to injure themselves, by hitting their heads on the hard pavement below them or by smacking each other silly. Even the soldiers in their copters were affected, causing them to crash into nearby buildings.
The investigator, momentarily shocked by the display of violence by her own lackies, got moving and attempted to fire her pistol at the culprit.
“Easy there, sister.” Jion held Erika’s neck in a choke hold as he pointed a knife into her right eye. “We wouldn’t want to lose another one would we?”
As the slaughter died down with no survivors remaining, the driver, Jion spoke first.
“What should we do now, boss?”
“Move the earnings to the Cubical machine, I disabled the tracking functions on it so we should be fine.
“And her?” Jion pointed to the clearly pissed investigator. “I’ll deal with her. Now get moving.”
Jion shoved the captive towards Akiael. “Lets cherish this moment to be alive shall we?” The man spoke in the most innocent manner like he just didn’t indirectly murder at least 20 trained soldiers.
“You, are you even human?” The woman scowled as she spoke.
“No, I’m not, while you are here tell your upper brass this message. Another crime will be committed, this time at the Department of Finance. Whether your client cares or not, is up to you.”
Sweat rolled down Erika’s cheeks as she was attempting to read her opponent.
“But before you go I have a… bloody gift for you.”
