He stood in a valley, beautiful and grand.
It had been transported to a strange green place, far too open and dangerous.
Pillars of rough brown poked out of the ground before spreading back out into green. Trees, he thought. Trees, it somehow knew. They were placed around sporadically, jutting out all across the terrain, although more common at the bottom. They were slightly rarer as the slope grew steeper, and transitioned to bare dirt and stone. The curve of the slope was harsh, but not completely vertical. The valley tapered off a good distance away, the middle slowly sloping up to join the sides.
It seemed to be alone for now, but it knew that was unlikely to stay true. Anything could find it now while it was still adjusting to anything that wasn't Nothing, and it would be done for. Especially if it was one of the Hated. He should try to find civilization. It should find a place to hide. It began squirming its way across the ground towards the trees, taking note of its new body as it did.
The body was strange. It had no muscle, no bone, no blood. It was mainly just a blob of silver slime, holding in a shape that was closest to a partially melted sphere. The slime rippled as it rolled across the ground, which sent its vision doing the same. The rippling vision was very disorienting, but at least it was omnidirectional. It could see out of the slime, although that made no logical sense. It didn't even have a brain. Just a Core, a jagged shard of bright blue crystal that took up about a fifth of its volume, floating near its center.
The crystal seemed inert, but it knew, deep within itself, that its Core was vital to its very existence. It was a heart, a brain, and a soul all mixed into one. And it was beautiful.
It reached the trees. It didn't even reach the shortest branches, which was good. Better for hiding. It slunk through the brush, eventually deciding on a hollow beneath the roots of one of the larger trees. It was rather spacious, even to fit three of the elemental if they all squished together. But most importantly, it was hidden. From both other Monsters and the Hated. It relaxed, releasing the tension on its body and collapsing into a puddle, only its Core sticking out covered in a thin film of slime. It was time to figure out just what to do here.

[YOU ARE NOW A BLANK ELEMENTAL.]
[FULFILL EVOLUTION GOALS TO ADVANCE HIGHER, ALONG WITH HIDDEN GOALS TO OBTAIN MORE EVOLUTIONARY ENERGY.]
[PRESENTING EVOLUTION GOALS...]
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
OPTION 1: Fire Elemental: Embody the rage and power of flames. This evolution focuses on pure damage at any cost or collateral. To unlock, survive an encounter with flames. Encounters survived: 0/1
OPTION 2: Wind Elemental: Embody the flitting and nomadic nature of wind. This evaluation focuses on versatility and mobility. To unlock, consume a mundane flying creature. Creatures consumed: 0/1
OPTION 3: Earth Elemental: Embody the unyielding and stoic resilience of stone. This evolution focuses on survivability and durability. To unlock, survive three battles. Battles survived: 0/3
OPTION 4: Water Elemental: Embody the flowing and rushing force of water. This evolution focuses on no particular area, fulfilling the role of a generalist. To unlock, survive ten days without unlocking another Evolution. Days survived: 0/10
So this was its potential. Elements, four of them. Earth sounded very promising, what with being focused on survivability and being too tough to hurt, but it couldn't disregard the offensive power of fire. Pure strength had its usefulness, especially if it could just end its enemies before they could even notice. Although that would probably be a little further down the line. And water would be the safest choice, as it could simply stay in this little burrow until the timer ran out. Wind seemed the worst choice, as water already had versatility and mobility didn't seem as importa-
He remembered his first flight. It had been on an old inter-continent plane. His family had been traveling to visit some relatives who had moved. He was only eight at the time, and it was his first experience with planes beyond toys and picture books. And it was amazing. He remembers, vividly, staring out the window for the whole flight. Not wanting to miss a single second of the magical experience. He had wondered, in those moments, how it would feel to fly all on his own. To feel the wind parting around him as he swam through clouds. As if he owned the sky. It was a beautiful memory.
It didn't know why, but it suddenly saw quite a bit more potential from wind. Versatility would definitely be important, as it had no idea what to expect. And wasn't evading the Hated until it was strong the whole plan? Mobility would help greatly, especially if it could eventually receive an Evolution with full flight. Yes, wind was not useless. It seemed quite powerful. In fact, It would probably attempt to unlock wind if it could.
Now that it had seen what it could become, it was time to see just what it currently was.

It liked what it saw. It already had a Mutation! How interesting. It would have to test that. But there was a problem. It was missing a name. How odd.
He was Davis Andromeda. He was Davis Andromeda. He was Davis Andromeda. He was Davis Andromeda. He was Davis Andromeda.
It was Meda.
