Nights get wild in Ignicity!
"Ugh just shut the hell up about Ignicity! I'm tired of hearing about how it gets 'WILD' and 'CRAZY'," said Mort to his friends. They all scoffed and looked at him with annoyance.
"Ugh, I'm glad that I don't have to see your dumbass mug anymore Mort. You have and always will be such a damn buzzkill!" One of the guys shooted to Mort. Mort didn't seem to care about the insults and continued to walk.
"I'm going to Saphira's party, who's with me? Rumors has it Anna gives BJ's if you buy her a drink~" Mort's friends walk off towards the party that had been the talk of the town for a while now.
Saphira had been the bane of his existence from the moment he enrolled into Lorem High. For some reason she had something against him since he had first entered her life. She would do anything in her power to make his life a living hell. When he finally had the courage to confess his love towards his crush, she decided to ruin that personally.
One night he went to his girlfriend's home to catch her in bed with Saphira. His world shattered when his girlfriend got caught with Saphira even when they had been in a relationship for over 2 years at that point. This shattered his world to such a degree that he became an anti-social mess of a man and broke contact with his friends.
Mort continued to walk through the dark streets late at night until he spotted a nice looking bar from a distance. He approached it until he was met with the bright neon sign which hurt his eyes.
"Burning Sensation huh? I hope it can burn away this horrid taste in my mouth from having to talk to all these dickheads." Mort said while approaching the bar at a slow pace.
He entered the bar to see it empty exept for one barwoman who was cleaning the counter. She was a beautiful lady with brown hair and black attire. He sat down and waited for her to notice him sitting there. She seemed to be lost in thought, although it took her only a moment to finally notice him sitting there.
"Oh. Hey kiddo, sorry for not noticing you there. It's been a long day and I just want to get home...Can I see your ID?"
"Seriously? I'm 21! Could you please just pour me a glass and be done with it? I really need it and want to drink away my pain in peace alright?!" He says in an annoyed tone. She seemed equally annoyed by his angry tone and responded with a similar tone.
"Ugh jeez, don't rage at the woman who gets payed minimum wage for busting her ass every day to survive." She says as she starts looking in the back for a drink for him. Mort notices that he had stepped out of line and apologized.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so stuck-up. I've just had a horrid year and want to drink it away." Mort said while slumping over the counter.
The woman found the drink she had been looking for in the back. Her fingers delicately cradled the bottle as if she was holding a newborn child. She easily popped open the bottle as smoke erupted from the tip. She started to pour the contents of the bottle into a glass wish grace and style. Mort looked on with awe due to the woman's skills and the way she handled every step with care.
"So, why are you so damn glum?" She said while using her fingers to carefully hold onto five small containers with different bright colors inside of them. She poured the pretty liquids into the glass making a drink that could only be described as a unicorn's puke.
"Where do I even begin?" He says while panning his head to the roof and reminiscing about all the horrible things that had happened to him.
"My girlfriend left me for another woman, my friends dropped me the moment school stopped and my parents abandoned me." Mort said while scoffing at just how shit his life had been.
"Damn, I'll forgive your horrid additude because I feel bad for your situation. Here the drink's on the house." She said while pushing the glass towards him. Mort looked inside to see a beautiful mix of colors forming a rainbow.
"Thanks miss...?"
"The name's Sarah and don't call me miss because it makes me feel way older than I am."
"Thanks Sarah! It's been a while since I've had someone who actually talked to me." Mort said while taking a whiff of what the pretty woman had made for him.
"Jeez you aren't pulling punches with this strong shit! Bottoms up!" Mort shouted as he quickly takes a big swig of the colorful drink and downs it at a rapid pace.
"I swear kiddo, the only time I see a man get THIS drunk is if he wants to kiss a girl or kill a man, and you're not my type and there arent many girls around as you can see."
"I'm no killer Sarah so I guess I'm just a *burp* mystery right? This drink is so gooooood Sarah~" He said in a drunken voice. His body swinging left to right with every word as if he was riding a rollercoaster.
"If you pass out, it ain't my fault if you wake up in an alley tomorrow alright?" Sarah said while looking at him barely staying conscious.
"Awh, Dawrling! Don't be wo- *burp* -rried for my safety! A pwetty lady like youwself showld be careful!" Mort took another swig of his drink and slumps down moments after over the counter.
At that same time, a cloaked woman goes to sit down next to Mort. While her expression seemed pleased, Sarah's expression quickly shifted to a sour one upon seeing the woman.
"What a beautiful establishment you have here Sarah darling~" The woman utters while smiling towards Sarah. Sarah on the other hand scoffed at the woman's remark and looked at her with a serious expression.
"Get. Out. Kyrre." Sarah said with a serious tone. The woman's smile doesn't fade and only grows wider with each word that rolls off of Sarah's lips.
"*BURP* HEY, WHOSE THIS BEAUTIFUL LADY SITTING NEXT TO MWE?" Mort says as he jumps back up. Saliva is dripping from his lip, he turns his head towards the woman.
"Aww how sweet! But I'm not here for you boy. I'm here for the disgrace upon humanity known as my si-" The woman was cut off by Mort shouting loudly towards her.
"IF YOU DARE IN-*BURP -SULT SARAH AGAIN I'LL TURN YA INTO MINCEMEAT BIETCH!" He says while taking the final swig of his drink and slamming the glass against the table.
"Oh? And what would you do if I did insult her again? Why don't you shut me up and challenge me to a duel?" The woman says in the same sweet way she had before, although her personality seemed to crack, if only a slight bit.
" I SWEAR IF YOU *BURP* INSULT SARAH ONE MUR TIME...I'LL CHALLENGE YOU TO THAT *BURP* DOUL!" Mort shouts in a drunken rage. He hadn't realised just yet how much trouble he was causing for himself in his rage.
The woman started to laugh to herself. She clearly enjoyed the fact that Mort had indirectly tempted her into a Duel. While she was laughing Sarah had been paralyzed from the moment the woman had mentioned a Duel. Her face turned pale and her legs trembled.
"Dear boy, that woman Sarah is nothing but a wench who could only ever be second in everything she has ever done. From her disgusting face, her horrid feet and her vile mouth, she was nothing but an abomination that didn't deserve to exist~ I can't believe creatures such as herself deserve to exist! I wish there was a better emotion to conve-"
Mort had grown sick and tired of the woman's venomous words. His fist clenched in anger not only due to the insults she was throwing at Sarah, but also the fact that he himself knew those insults all too well, and the fact that Sarah was taking them just like he did. His anger boiled so hot even his drunken state had completely left him as he with all the anger in his body punched the woman in her face.
"NO DUMBASS, WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!" Sarah shouted as Mort's fist rested softly upon the woman's cheek. There was silence for but a moment as the woman started maniacally laughing. She grabbed Mort's arm, which was still extended towards her.
"Boy, I thank you humbly for this declaration and wish you luck in our Duel~" The moment she finished those words she stood up and tightly gripped Mort's arm and raised it to the roof lifting him up with it. In a moment barely visible by the naked eye, she let go of his arm and put her hand on Mort's chest and gave him a small push, which launched him into the rainy street.

"Now, I hope you can prove even a slight bit entertaining~" The woman said as she licked her lips in anticipation. Sarah had witnessed this scene and felt unsure of what she wanted to do.
"And Sarah, you know the rules to duels as well as I do. we both know what would happen if you interrupted me~." The woman said with a look that could even strike fear into the strongest and largest predators on the earth. Sarah shivered and bit her lip due to her not being able to help Mort.
"Now boy, don't you dare pass out on me~ There's still too much fun to be had!" The woman shouted to Mort. She happily danced towards him with the innocence of a child. Sarah on the other hand had her fear dominating her as she was unable to even move an inch forward.
Mort had been laying on the ground for a bit. His mind was too hazy to focus on anything but the painful feeling in the back of his skull. He tried his best to stand up but his body fought against him. But to both Sarah and the woman's surprise Mort stood up from the ground as he wiped the blood from his mouth.
"That sobered me up, thanks!" he shouted at the woman while preparing to stance up into a fighting position.
"Oh? It seem's you're not as weak as I thought~" The woman said while continuing to approach him.
"JUST STAY DOWN MORT I'M BEGGING YOU!" Sarah begged on her knees as they had collapsed from the stress. Even if she hadn't known Mort for long, she didn't want him to die a death so young for her sake.
The woman had yet again reached Mort. This time she looked him directly in his eyes. Her cold stare felt as if the woman had looked at his whole life in once instance and only felt disgust towards him. She only smiled with her eyes telling a different story.
"Mort was it? If you could be a darling and hit me again it would mean the world to me~" The woman had said while pointing to her chin. Her tone sounding as if she took pleasure in playing with Mort and taunting him.
Mort had taken a moment to catch his breath. He again clenched his fist in anger and threw a blow at the woman chin. A direct impact could be heard as Mort's fist collided with the woman's chin, but instead of showing any pain, anguish or agony from the blow, the woman had a pleased look on her face. She looked as if she was experiencing her own kind of pleasure from each hit driven by anger that Mort had lauched at her.
"MMH~ That's it Mort, all that , disgust, agony and hate you show towards me~ More, more and MORE~" The woman said while clenching herself. She was in a state of pure bliss and arousal as she grabbed Mort's arm yet again and threw him back towards the bar.
Mort hit the bar with a loud thump. Wood cracked on his impact as he layed against the wooden wall.
"W-What's wrong Sarah?" Mort muttered weakly as Sarah looked at him with a pale expression as if she had seen death itself. She layed there in shock and anguish at the site of Mort's body against the wall.
"LOOK DOWN DAMMIT!" She shouted as Mort looked down to see a piece of wood had pierced his abdomen. Blood dripping from his impaled wound he clenched it tightly. The sharp pain had finally begin to set in as his vision became hazy and the light in his eyes began to fade.
"Aww darn it, I thought this toy would've lasted longer~" The woman said as she looked at Mort's body laying decrepitly against the wall. While she had not lost even a droplet of blood, Mort's body on the other hand had lost too much blood to stay conscious as the light had faded from his eyes.
Deep inside Mort's mind he layed there, drifting in the endless void of his mind. He didn't hear, nor speak, nor breathe in that state. He could only think, think of the anguish he felt from the woman's insults. Even if he had just met her. The words cut deeper than they should've. 'Abomination' was the word that tipped the scale.
He wasn't born from a 'happy family' like everyone else. He was a bastard child, born from an affair his mother had with another man. His entire life he had been seen as an abomination. Neither his biological father, nor his mother wanted anything to do with him. They took him out in the rain and abandoned him there.
The nights on the street were cold and harsh. Mort had been on the brink of death due to starvation and layed in the rain. The only person to see him as a child, a person, was the man his mother was actually married to. He had found him on the street and taken him in as his own, knowing all too well that this child was the reason why his wife ran away and why he was divorced. Mort had known that this man was his mother's husband and feared that he would do horrid things to him in revenge of what his mother did. The man approached Mort and stretched his arms forward. Mort's heart was beating at a pace it hasn't gone to since that day at the time.
"I'm sorry for what your mother has done to you, but fear not as I will extend my hand and help you when she did not." He said with a loving tone. Mort had collapsed after the man said this. He caught his little body and for the final few seconds that Mort had been awake he felt the warm embrace of a parent for the first time.
The man went and raised Mort with love and care that his biological parents never did. He taught him how to read, write, cook and finally fight. His father wanted him to be tough but caring. Everyday he would spar with Mort and teach him a new thing. Mort finally felt like someone in the world cared for him. That was, until that day....
"Awww, has little Mort stopped working already? I was just enjoying myself~" The woman said while looking at Mort's motionless body laying in a puddle of his own blood. The woman started to walk into the night leaving the scene of Mort's bloodied body as she assumed he was dead, until...
"D...Don't you...fucking dare to leave after all you've done!" Mort said while slowly standing up from the ground. His wound was still spurting blood with every movement he made, but even if it did Mort didn't feel the pain from the wound. There was only one thing he felt and that was his determination to move forward. Sarah looked at him with a look of anger and sadness.
"Mort, why didn't you just stay down..." Sarah muttered with tears in her eyes. This is what she had been saying from the moment Mort had stood up from the first impact. She didn't want him to die in vain. But to Mort, this felt like this duty.
Mort stood tall in the midst of the street. He couldn't hear the few bystanders that witnessed the bloody scene, nor the cries of despiration that Sarah had been shouting. All he could hear was her...
"Mort, there is but one thing which I don't like." The woman said while turning back to make eye contact with Mort. She took off the cloak she had been wearing to show her white attire and sheathed sword dangling from her waist.
"Toys overstaying their welcome." She said as she dashed forward in the blink of an eye gripping the sword on her waist and preparing to cut Mort down once and for all.
"KYRRE DON'T!" Sarah shouted, but to no avail. It seemed as if Mort had truly met his end.
Mort had been half-conscious from the moment he stood up and started to limp forward. His life truly flashed before his eyes as the woman approached at a rapid pace. While it was not visible from the outside, Mort's mind had been stuck up on one particular moment in his past...
"What do you do if your opponent tries to hit you, Mort?" His father asked a younger Mort at the time. Mort had thought about it for a second and came up with his answer.
"Try to dodge the attack right?" He said while looking up at his father.
"Yes and no, dodging is only half the equation." He said while grabbing a stick from the ground and tossing it towards Mort. Mort caught it and looked at his father with a confused expression.
"What should I do with this?" Asked Mort while quickly looking to see if there was anything special about the stick.
"Charge towards me and try to pierce me with the stick." His father told him with a stern expression.
Mort grabbed the stick and dashed forward towards his father. Mort had locked eyes with his father until he suddenly disappeared. Mort was left dazzled until he felt a sharp pain in his stomache. He looked down to see his father had hit him with a punch directly in the abdomen. Mort let go of the stick and fell backwards onto the grass.
"A Counterstrike." His father said as he helped Mort back up and they went back to their home.
Dust rose from the scene as the shocked bystanders looked towards the scene. Sarah was the only one who caught what happened. As the dust finally started to settle everyone looked on at the horrific scene.
Mort's left arm layed there, sliced off on the ground.
Mort's right hand was indented in the middle of the woman's chest. For the first time on that fabled night, the woman had finally felt pain and shed blood as it slowly dripped from her pale lips. The pain in her chest wouldn't cease to stop. It took her a moment to realise what Mort exactly had done to her.
When she dashed towards him and slashed, Mort had used his left arm to deflect her slash causing it to be cut off instead of his head, and as his legs gave out at that moment he got the oppertunity he hoped for as he landed a Counterstrike just under her ribcage. While this didn't seem like an intense blow on the surface, Mort had extended his middle and index fingers in his fist which caused them to indent in the spot just under her ribcage. Those two fingers had hit her liver with enough force to show internal damage and cause her to bleed. This interaction hadn't lasted longer than a second since the woman had dashed forward.
"Mort, It has been truly long since someone has made me bleed. In respect I shall bare my name for you. I am Kyrre Crow, and I shall take your life." Kyrre said gripping her sword yet again and preparing to decapitate Mort to seal the deal.
"NOT IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT BITCH!"
Gunshots could be heard coming from the right. A bullet pierced Kyrre's thigh at a high speed. Kyrre had been dumbfounded for just a moment by what had occured yet again. But she realised just what had happened moment's later and smiled happily.
"Sarah~" Kyrre said while fixing her gaze towards the bar.
Sarah had a gun in her hands as she blew the smoke from the tip. In dark red letters the name 'Maxilynn' was embedded on it. Sarah approached the bloody scene and stared at Kyrre with a look filled to the brim with malice and hate.
"I accept your proposition, sister." Sarah says while pointing her gun at Kyrre's head. Kyrre didn't seem to be fazed by the gun pointed at her head, rather she seemed to be in a state of bliss even greater than when she toyed with Mort.
"We will meet in Ignicity, and we can finally settle the score~" Kyrre said while sheathing her sword. She left the scene not a second later at the exact moment Mort collapsed. Sarah looked at Mort's body laying in a puddle of the rain and his own blood. She picked him up and carried him back inside the bar.
"Dumbass almost died for my sake..." She said while putting him on the counter and pulling out the plank which had been impaling him. Then she grabbed the alchohol she kept behind the bar to disinfect the wound and bandaged him up. Sarah carried him to her bed and layed him down. She took a seat and proceeded to tend to him for the rest of the night. She carefully sowed his left arm back on and kept changing the bandages that kept him from bleeding out...
Dawn reaches the world once more.
