Prologue

in the city of Albina at the lord mansion.

the lord stood up, and a red wine glass shattered on the floor

"WHAT DID YOU SAY" the lord shouted

the servant cowered "my lord someone spread the word about the rift signs of opening in the eastern forest"

A rift, rifts appear randomly around the world a rift opening time may vary but at least it will stay open for three days 

and at max it might stay open for a year there are a few exceptions but the norm is like this, rifts was created by ancient People, its purpose was to protect there people from the strongest creatures like dragons and titans etc… as these creatures were abundant at the time so the lesser creatures like humans were forced into hiding In hope of survival some of them were living in these rifts as such there culture's treasures and artifacts are all in these rifts, so every time a rift open it's the same as discovering a whole new culture as such people from everywhere will come running.

 Anyway returning to the current situation  

The lord bellowed.

"WHO!!!"

The servant looked at the floor and said.

"that, I don't know"

the lord sat down.

(one of these bastards must have betrayed me)

the lord murmured 

"bunch of usless things"

he glared at the people on the table and said.

"betraying me for a meager amount of money. IF ONE OF YOU have not spread the word we might have gained a lot from this rift we might even become a nation but no, you stupidly went ahead and sold the information i don't know how much they gave you but there is no way it could have been worth the same as what's inside THIS IS A RIFT! A RIFT!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THE TREAUSERS INSIDE WORTH IS!"

one of the steward stood up while shivering

"my lord there's no way we would betray you our loyalty for you are absolute and also we won't gain anything by doing this, some of the guard might have betrayed us"

The lord looked at him and said "doesn't matter at this time the whole world should know about this in the following days our city well be crowded with adventures, treasure hunters, magicians, all kinds of people and worst, bloodline inheritors. Sigh we might not get anything"

Murmurs noises,

a steward raised his hand

The lord looked at him and said. "Speak"

" my lord this might be for the best."

"HOW SO!" the lord questioned angrily

"A rift is a place that's shrouded by danger if we entered we might not come back alive."

Murmurs,

he continued. "and even if we returned alive we will not get that much since the rate of danger there increases along the rarity of treasures ther..."

The lord interrupted saying. "but now we cannot gain anything"

 The steward continued saying. "my lord no worries i have a plan, our city well have so many visitors so we should raise the entry fee and taxes and raise the prices of lodging, weapons and potions  we have to use this opportunity to gain as much wealth as we can and we should prohibit common people and merchants from going near the rift and then after the rift open we will wait for people to come out our targets well be solitary people, injured people and people with no backup they well leave the rift with treasures we will volunteer to buy there stuff since they have no backup they will be afraid of getting robbed along the way so they are forced to sell to us and also we might be able to buy the items for cheap since they will not find anybody but us near the rift or they might have no knowledge of the market price so might as well rip them off  or, if they choose not to cooperate we will let our spies follow them and when they let there guard down we attack them and take there stuff, so. what do you think my lord"

The lord stared at him for a long time before saying.

"You what is your name"

"my name is Sam my lord"

"Sam l hereby appoint you as my right hand"

"thank you my lord I will do my best not to disappoint you"
