Empire of Night- Obsidian Kingdom
Central Hall- Stronghold of the King
Darren paced back and forth waiting for a chance to talk to King Ironbreak. Darren knew the older Dwarf was a friend of Jacob which is why the King would see Darren, but the Dwarf had his own responsibilities and his underlings were making it more difficult since he was given a low priority compared to other petitioners. So any time another Dwarf came, Darren was pushed further back in the line and Darren was getting close to losing his patience. Jacob seemed to always have time for everyone, but he made certain times when people could come to see him. If people did not come during those times, they would have to wait for the next time.
The Dwarves apparently had a day every week for people to come and make petitions, you could either make an appointment or walk-in and hope you were seen. Darren was considered one of the later and thus low-priority despite being considered a messenger of the Emperor that was supposed to give him priority over any petitioner. Darren gritted his teeth and kept his patience then the guards made the announcement. "No more petitioners for the day. Please come back next week," they announced.
Darren took a deep breath and stopped one of them. "I apologize but I have been waiting for four hours to see the king. The Emperor has sent me with a message for King Ironbreaker's ears only. I need to see the King now."
The Dwarf shrugged Darren's hand off his shoulder, "If the king wanted to see you he would have sent for you. Begone and come back tomorrow."
Darren grit his teeth but before he could respond another Dwarf that had been in line gripped his shoulder and shook his head. "Don't lad, argue with them and its an easy way to end up in prison and it might be months before you see the king. Go get some food and a drink and come back tomorrow and try again." The Dwarf stated before turning and leaving.
Darren looked at the closed doors and considered his options...fuck it he thought as he reared back and kicked the massive doors. His bright blood red eyes caused the guards inside to flinch and bought him enough time to run into the main hall where more Dwarves waited. The Dwarf that had told Darren to wait earlier glared at him but the King sitting on the throne had a confused look on his face. "Is this the loyalty and allegiance the Obsidion Kingdom shows the Emperor? I come here with news and asking for aid, yet you tell me to wait. For four hours I have waited patiently then I am told to come back tomorrow. Does the Obsidion Kingdom no longer hold allegiance with the Empire of Night?" Darren called out holding the Kings gaze.
The Dwarf was visibly angry and stood up quickly before glaring at the Dwarf that had been in charge of arranging all the petitions. King Ironbreak smiled at Darren before turning and hitting the other Dwarf in the face. Blood and teeth flew as he collapsed backward away from the angry King. "I warned ya what would happen. You are hereby banished, you have one day to get out of these halls now get out of my sight." Two guards grabbed the downed Dwarf and dragged him out of the Hall.
"The Obsidian Kingdom always pays its debts and I do not break my word, I stand loyal to the Emperor.' King Ironbreaker stated loudly to make sure all could hear his words. 'Now what message do you bring and what aid can my kingdom give ya?"
Darren sighed in relief, it had been a huge gamble and it had paid off. "I need to speak to you alone with only people you trust with your life around you. What we are to discuss can get you and your people killed but I have to talk to you." Darren replied softly.
The King nodded his head in acknowledgment, "All appointments are suspended I am going to my office and I am not to be disturbed under any circumstances." He commanded another Dwarf who nodded his head and started organizing people out of the hall. The King signaled Darren to follow him and the Rogue gladly followed his hands clear of any weapons to give the kings' guards a sense of safety and calm for as long as he could.

"So what the hell is wrong? Why you here Rogue? The Emperor left specific instructions with me if he ever sent me messengers, they would follow them and you have not followed one of those instructions. So you better have a damned good reason lad otherwise I will send you to either jail or respawn for wasting my time." The King stated as he sat down. A Warhammer appeared in his hands and glowed with power as the Dwarf twirled it around waiting for Darren's response. They were alone though, no one else had been admitted into the office and the King had made damned sure he didn't want anyone to disturb them.
"Your right Jacob did not send me, he could not do this because he is in a coma currently," Darren told the Dwarf that paled and sat his hammer down on his desk.

"How? Why? What is going on?" The king immediately asked.
"You know of Adam and Eve?" Darren asked the Dwarf who nodded.
"Aye lad, they are the supreme beings of this world, more powerful than even the Primordials. They do not interfere with the day to day lives of Locals or Immortals though. What do they have to do with anything?" The King responded.
"Jacob was having difficulties, it was coming to a point he had to stay in our world to live and could never come back. However, Adam and Eve discovered a way to bring him here permanently. Its never been done before though and it's dangerous. He could die, but he wanted to try. So in the next seven days, he will live or die, even if he survives though we have no idea when he will wake up." Darren explained causing the Dwarf to wince.
"I assume he didn't want this information widespread so the Eight Houses couldn't cause any trouble?" The King prompted and Darren nodded in agreement.
"Yes, it could have caused a Civil War within the Empire and with an ongoing conflict against the Slavers Union and with Chaos out there lurking around, he thought it best to keep it under wraps. So I need two things from you. I need a map of the lay lines and Plan Hydra will continue to move forward." Darren layed it all out for the Dwarf.
"Aye, the invasion of the Dark Lands will keep the Empire united and keep the Eight Houses unified, hopefully. Why do you need the map?" The Dwarf asked confused.
"The Primordial Balance said if we keep Jacob near a Mana Well, Spring or Fountain, it will help with his transition to this world and increase his odds of survival. I am looking for someplace remote what we can set up some defenses to protect him while we wait for him to wake up." Darren told the Dwarf as he rummaged through his desk. After a few minutes he pulled out a map, it was old and had various lines and marking all around it.
"This map is ancient and has not been updated since this place was abandoned several millennia ago, but it will be accurate. Take your pick, but I would recommend something outside the Empire or remote since you are worried about the Eight Houses." the Dwarf suggested.
"Yeah, I agree and Balance pointed that fact out as well. The question is where...I want remote with monsters or beasts that are high level that will discourage visitors." Darren stated as he let his eyes roam the map.
The Dwarf nodded his head, and pointed to the Dark Lands, "I would recommend these regions, they are wild untamed for now. Even if the invasion is a complete success it is far from the Eigh Houses center of power. Either the Dark Lands or the Eastern Desert of Arakon. Both are vast and you could easily hide Jacob there. As far as additional defenses...We can make some Golems stand watch over him and I hate to say it, a container for him. It will protect him and we can engrave Runes and Sigils on it to amplify the power of whatever location we place him at while hiding him as well." The Dwarf explained.
"How long will it take to build the Golems and container?" Darren asked quickly.
"I will have my crafters give this a top priority, but a week for everything. Building this container will not be easy and I will assist in its construction." The Dwarf finished.
"Good, thank you. We need to buy time, do you mind if we let word slip that the Emperor is here coordinating and preparing for the invasion of the Dark Lands?" Darren asked the Dwarf who frowned but nodded. Politics.
"I would suggest that you get him out of the city sooner rather than later. Hide him in the Eternal Forest or bring him here. He is considered kin and an official Burning Anvil clan member, they will shelter him until the container and Golems are ready. I would suggest you sent a scout to the location you want and plant a Portal Anchor there so we can bypass the monsters and locals of the area. Here is both a portal scroll and a Portal Anchor. Good luck." The Dwarf stated before he rose and bellowed for his Seneschal.

"You know what you must do brother. You know why we are here. The world will hate us, but they must learn." The man told his companion as he gazed down at the nearby city. Hundreds of thousands of people lived, worked, and played. All fools.
"Yes brother, I know why I am here. It's dangerous for you to be here. Please leave, the task will be completed." the other man responded.
"Remember brother no messages, no statements. The fire will be our statement to enlighten the world." the first man responded before turning and leaving. The second man continued to study the city below and sneered at them in contempt. The world would be scorched in fire soon enough.
