Chapter 40

As Yuichi continued to mull over the situation, his thoughts began to connect various dots. The puzzle pieces were falling into place, revealing a clearer picture of the web of intrigue and secrecy surrounding Kira's condition and the involvement of Urahara, Mei, and even himself.

‘When I told Urahara about Kira he didn’t show much shock. Does that mean he already knew about it? Probably from Mei since she’s watching me, it makes sense for her to also be aware of Kira’s situation. Urahara's warning was meant to tell me to stay away from this matter, because it's likely dangerous. Is it because he doesn’t have time to deal with me, or maybe he wants to reduce the number of unknown variables as much as possible? No could it be that Kira’s situation involves one of the noble houses?’

As Yuichi continued to piece together the information, he realized that he might be entangled in a complex situation that involved the noble houses. The involvement of Urahara, Mei, and potentially even Yoruichi and Yūshirō meant that this issue might affect more than just Kira and her household it might possibly affect all of the Soul Society himself included.

Yuichi's thoughts raced as he considered the potential implications of his discoveries. The involvement of noble houses, particularly the Shihōin household to which Mei served, added a layer of complexity to the situation. He knew that when the authority of the Five Noble Families unite, their power supersedes even that of Central 46 and the Royal Guard.

‘If memory serves me right Kira’s family is the Ankoku family. So she’s a member of a lesser family. The only reason a family like that could get their hands on the technique of a forbidden kido is either they received it from a member of the 5 families or someone unrelated handed it to them to see what would happen like how Aizen acts. Kira doesn’t show up in the Bleach series probably because her family was most likely wiped out. Urahara and the others will probably think it’s another family backing the Ankoku family but wouldn’t consider someone like Aizen just yet.’

The more Yuichi thought about it, the more confused he became. Yuichi was unsure whether Aizen was involved or not. Yuichi only knew of four of the five noble houses which were the Shihoin clan, Kuchiki clan, Tsunayashiro clan, and Shiba clan. Of those, he was certain that the Shihoin clan, Kuchiki clan, and Shiba clan were innocent. So that left the unknown clan and the Tsunayashiro clan. He realized that he needed to approach this matter with caution, considering the potential repercussions and the possible complexity of the web he had unwittingly become entangled in.

Yuichi's thoughts were a whirlwind of speculation and uncertainty. He knew that he needed more information before jumping to conclusions about Aizen's involvement or the motives behind the forbidden kido being used on Kira. With the knowledge that the Five Noble Families held immense power and influence, he also realized the potential danger of delving too deeply into their affairs.

‘If Aizen is somehow involved, this situation could be even more dangerous than I thought. His manipulation and schemes caused significant chaos, and I can't underestimate his ability to manipulate people and situations. Above all else I must make sure I never see him activate his zanpakuto or else my life will be significantly harder than it needs to be. Thinking of this anymore will get me nowhere so for now I’ll just go inform Kira about the fact that I let Urahara know.’

Yuichi decided to focus on what he could control at the moment. He knew that gathering more information was crucial, but he also understood the importance of caution and not rushing into dangerous situations without a clear plan. Once he knew more he could decide if he could stand by the sidelines or if he needed to interfere.

He then made his way to the female dorms. As Yuichi arrived at the dorm room, he found Kira about to enter her room and she invited him inside. “Come on in.”

Once he was inside Kira closed the door. “Kira. I talked to Captain Urahara about your situation. He knows now and he said he'll do his best to figure out a way to help.” Yuichi explained

Kira's eyes widened in surprise. "You told Captain Urahara? I didn't expect you to do it so soon. I expected it to take a week or two. Since you said he’d figure out a way to help means he currently doesn’t have one right now correct?"

"Most likely, we didn't delve into the specifics," Yuichi explained, his tone contemplative. "However, he did advise me against delving too deeply into this issue. Additionally, he expressed a keen interest in having you visit him whenever your schedule allows. He believes it would greatly contribute to his research on this particular matter," Yuichi stated while attentively observing Kira's changing facial expressions.

Kira's expression shifted from one of curiosity to a worried look. With her arms crossed and brows furrowed, she conveyed her thoughts. "I'm grateful that you were proactive and talked to him so soon, Yuichi. It's reassuring that Captain Urahara is open to assisting me, even if a solution isn't yet apparent. I agree with his opinion that it's best if you refrain from getting further involved. Thank you for this I really mean it."

“You're welcome. Do you have anything I could write on?” said Yuichi

"Certainly, it's right there on that table," Kira directed, gesturing toward the identical table present in all the dorm rooms.

Yuichi proceeded to approach the low table, knelt down, and started jotting down something on the sheet of paper. Kira watched with a perplexed expression as he completed his writing and then handed her the paper. After reading the content she didn’t understand what it was so she asked, “What is this?”

“Kido that I personally crafted. The first one will create a barrier that blocks all sounds inside while the other conceals your reiatsu, rendering it undetectable. I cannot guarantee their efficacy, but they should offer some measurement of defense. Good luck with this and stay safe.” explained Yuichi

Unspoken in his mind was the thought, 'Because your survival could potentially be of use to me.'
