During my week at the Frozen Mansion, I heard a lot about the Royal Academy, where Charlotte and I would be studying for four years...
I don't know how Charlotte's mother, Larissa-sama, knew so much about it, and the way she spoke to us, it was as if she was a teacher at the Academy!
◇
"Anos-kun, maybe we've arrived" Charlotte looked at the scene outside and stared at me, poking me in the cheek with her hand.
"Did you hear me, you idiot?"
I was startled out of the dream and before I could understand what was going on, she pulled me down from the carriage.
What caught my eye at that moment was a massive structure with nearly a dozen rows of large houses lined up in the centre of a forest called Great Locuss. It wouldn't be worth mentioning if I didn't see a golden bell tower in the centre of the academy.
"Charlot-chan, the tower looks so dazzling!"
As we got out of the carriage, the clock struck twelve in the afternoon and the bell rang for a long time, temporarily drowning out Charlotte's words, but I could still hear something like "It's made of pure gold".
"Pure gold? I tried to estimate its value, but then realised how stupid I was.
"The other two..."
I turned at the sudden call to see a tall, handsome guy rushing back. The suit he was wearing was bright white, with a very nice pattern, not to mention the ribbon he wore on his biceps.
"Who are you, why are you here?" Even though he was breathing heavily, he was still trying to ask us questions.
"We are first year students, we just came to the Academy today!" Charlotte spoke up.
"At this time?" The guy crossed his arms and looked at us in disbelief.
Perhaps he was judging us by our appearance, after all, this was a academy for nobles.
"Yes, I am Viscount Elmer's daughter..." Charlotte took a letter of admission from her and introduced herself.
"And he's my friend, Anos."
"You are the daughter of Viscount Elmer?" the guy asked in surprise.
"What's wrong with that?"
"Ah no" When the man saw Charlotte's cold gaze, he quickly adjusted his posture and his attitude also turned a hundred and eighty degrees, "I... I'm sorry."
"Allow.. allow me to lead you to the Academy !"

For some reason this guy separated me from Charlotte when we both went into the hall.
There a girl appeared, also with a ribbon on her hand and a white uniform, she took Charlotte to the student council room and told him to show me around the academy...
Of course he would refuse, he knew my name, a name that had been marked 'Divergent' since the entrance exam of this academy. He talked to me, gave me a map and told me to see the academy for myself and then go back to the dormitory.
Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel.
I don't mind, I've been psychologically prepared for this.
Apart from Charlotte's family and my parents, no one appreciated someone who didn't know how to use magic like I did.
"It's a bad idea to go for a walk in the middle of the day," I said, not seeing a single person, not to mention the heat of the sun on my head.
I decided to go back to the dormitory first.
The dormitory was indeed very extravagant, the entrance was very similar to the lobby of the Charlotte family's mansion, and it was even more special when there were a few people on duty. It wasn't until later that I knew they were called receptionists. They wear strict uniforms, are well trained and agile.
"Well, it would be great if I could be here within the next four years" It was a beautiful dormitory. That was my first impression.
I went to the reception to find out which room I would be staying in.
"Are you Anos Dalziel?" An employee took the admission letter and looked at me, "Sorry, your name is not on the list"
"Why isn't there my name?" I was confused, "Can you please check it carefully?"
My budding joy faded when I heard the confirmation that followed: "I've looked carefully, those on the list are all from the Baron's family."
"You're a commoner," the employee explained, "commoners aren't allowed to live with nobles"
The rusty key was brought in front of me, "Usually students like you are placed in the old dormitory, an old building outside the Academy campus."
I listened but couldn't believe my ears, my hands trembled as I grabbed the keys.
"OK, do you have any questions, otherwise hurry up and sign here!" the employee's voice urged.
"Step aside!"
I was just holding my pen, when I was pushed aside by a student who came from behind and wanted to talk to the receptionist.
"Hey, take me back to the room." He was surrounded by beast girls with seal rings around their necks. They all seemed to be his servants.
He had purple hair, black eyes and a small ancient book full of terrible shapes that he always held in his hand.
From his suit and the way he speaks, he seems to be from a wealthy family.
"Please show me the admission letter."
"I missed it" the student slammed his hand down on the table, "My name is Douglas Syl Ivor !"
"Ivor?" The employee heard the person's name and nodded quietly. "Welcome to the Royal Academy! I'll show you right now. May I help you with your luggage?"
She said as she glared at me, implying that she wanted me to sign quickly and get out of here.
It was the complete opposite of how I had been treated.
Although this is a Royal Academy, which has always been praised for its equality, there is clearly a difference in how people are treated.
I had just picked up the pen when I bumped into the other student.
"That damn commoner !"
"Are you blind?" He looked at the rusty key that had guessed my identity. He kicked me in the ribs angrily.
"I... I'm sorry," I looked at his face and knew that this was the kind of person who should not be involved, the nobles here were 90% likely to behave like this and he was definitely no exception.
"When you've finished, go back to your stable !" the student said, and I heard the scornful words. I lowered my face, quickly signed and walked out of the room.
I don't understand how this academy with this royal label can accept immoral people like he.
"Forget it !" I thought, thinking of the students like him I would definitely have to meet in a few days, and I lost all desire to complain.
I walked out of the academy gate and towards the old building hidden behind a row of dead trees. This is the dormitory where I will be staying for the next 4 years. At first I thought it looked like an abandoned area, but I was wrong...
Although the ceiling and walls had been peeled off in large chunks, and green moss covered the floor in places, the corridor was very clean, perhaps it was still cleaned regularly.
I walked quietly down the corridor, unlocked the door and entered room 03.
Just as I thought, this room is not too big.
And what do I need it to be big for, for me, anywhere, as long as I can go to school, that's fine.
The room was tidied up through the loudspeakers, and my luggage was neatly placed on the bed.
On top of the humus desk I noticed a small cardboard box with old books, "This is great, in addition to textbooks and magic I have also been given some combat textbooks"
I immediately arranged them neatly on the table, picked up a large book and sat down on the bed.
"This is where I will be for the next four years..." I looked around the room again.
I leafed through the book. Why had I picked it? I don't need textbooks on magic because I can't use them.
Just as I was about to fold it, a thought crossed my mind: "Wait, it's not useless. Even if I can't use it, I need to read it to understand how magic works.
I was enlightened when I thought about it, and I got up and read the first page of the book about the history of magic, about how the sage Diggory gave birth to this world. ...
Just then I heard a knock at the door.
