CHAPTER 5
I spent the next few days casting the imperius curse on every hobo I could find until I was sure I could do it perfectly. See the imperius curse, if cast improperly, can leave the victim’s mind a little addled so it is very important to practice before you use it for anything important, I mean if Hagrid were to lose his mind I would lose that little bit of control I have on the future, and that would be very annoying to say the least.
And its not like anybody would really care if a few hobos lost their mind a little.
Well then let’s get started. It’s such a shame ipods don't exist yet, this whole operation would be so much cooler with some background music. I mean I know that everybody always talks about how great the 90's were and everything but really, it’s pretty boring, I mean it’s 1991 for god’s sake.
Anyway, that is not important, I need to focus if I want this to work.
Okay so here's the thing, my end goal here is to acquire the stone before it gets to Hogwarts so that means i only have a limited amount of time to act.
So, the first option was to break into the vault at Gringotts and steal it there. But that plan, is so ridiculously full of holes it just isn't viable.
Option two is to pretend to be Hagrid and make take the stone there "legally" but once again it wouldn't work because goblins can see through magic so that plan was shit also.
Option three was to wait until they got separated at Ollivanders and then stun Hagrid, steal the stone and erase his memory, but that is impossible also because there are too many witnesses around.
And the last option, which was to wait until they leave for the train station is also impossible because all that rewriting their memory would take too much time and we would miss the train, and that would pretty much put me under a spotlight.
And that’s when it hit me, I don't need to steal it from them. I mean I had been so busy thinking about how and when to steal the stone that I was unable to think outside the box.
If I can't steal it from them I just had to have Hagrid give it to me.
So, here's the plan, first of all to get dobby to pretend to be me, it wasn’t going to be too hard as I usually almost never left my room, the hardest part would be for him to accompany the Malfoys all the way to the train station.
Then I had to find the Dursleys and stalk them a little, I rewrote the memories of some elderly people nearby and made them believe I was their grandchild on a visit, so all I had to do was play the waiting game.
It finally happened, it took a few days, but finally good old Vernon Dursley has had enough of all those letters and they are finally moving out.
Okay so here’s the real plan, so I realized that it would be impossible to steal the stone from Hagrid after he left the bank, wayyyy too many things can go wrong, that option just isn’t viable.
So, if I can’t take it myself and I can’t seal it from them then there really was only one option left, they had to give it to me. But for them to give the stone to me I had to do my best to “convince” them, if you know what I mean.
My plan was simple, find Hagrid, cast the imperius curse on him and Harry, and I suppose the rest is pretty much obvious right?
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
Anyway, I have no idea where Hagrid is at the moment, I could use Lucius’s authority as a member of the board of governors to find out but it would be very stupid and highly suspicious.
I mean seriously, Lucius Malfoy is an ex-death eater, so if he just so happened to be tracking Hagrid mere days before he went to retrieve the philosopher stone it would make Dumbledore so suspicious he would probably send a few extra teachers with Hagrid just in case.
Or even worse the retrieval of the stone could be delayed by a few hours and Voldemort would come back to life, and I would be saying goodbye to my ambitions.
No that would just be a terrible idea, but, even though I may not know where Hagrid is right now, I already know where he will be in the future.
See anyone who has read the books, or at least seen the first movie, knows that after Vernon “loses his mind” he and his family leave their home and start living in and I quote “what looked like a large rock way out at sea. Perched on top of the rock was the most miserable little shack you could imagine”
Anyway, I have no idea where said shack is, but I do know that Hagrid and Harry will meet each other there for the first time. So, all I have to do is just follow the Dursleys and deal with everything then and there.
…….
I know everybody kinda “knows” how the Dursleys hate Harry but I think everybody is underestimating them a little bit because… I mean if you could see the miserable way they are willing to live just to prevent Harry from going to school…. I mean…. Damn I’m literally speechless.
I mean that little shack is full of holes, its dusty, cold and humid as hell and yet for some reason Vernon is smiling like he just won the lottery. I mean hey sure all they have to eat are four bags of chips and four bananas but hey at least they have this crappy shack to live it.
I mean fuck me they’re all freezing, and they don’t have anything to light a fire with. He tried to start one, but the empty chip bags just smoked and shriveled up. And the first thing the bastard says is "Could do with some of those letters now, eh?" with a smug smile on his face, I mean fuck me what is wrong with that guy.
Anyway, let’s forget about them or I will lose my mind. Anyway, Hagrid and Harry won’t leave before tomorrow morning anyway so let’s sleep for a few hours first. I set up one of those space tents on the other side of the island and set up a few wards to remain undetected I don’t know if this would help against a real teacher, but Hagrid got expelled during his third year and is here to get Harry anyway so it’s not like he is going to be looking for me anyways. So, this should be more than enough to remain hidden.
……..
It’s three in the morning and I just woke up, I think its about time to get to work.
I make sure to not make any noise as I open the door of the shitty little shack and soon find my target Hagrid sleeping profoundly on the collapsed sofa. After cursing both him I gave him some simple orders and I left. The orders were simple, he had to go to Gringotts and get both the stone and money for Harry’s supplies, buy the stuff a student would need and meet me in an alley while Harry was buying a wand.
I didn’t make my commands too specific because I still need Hagrid to act like Hagrid, it would be annoying if he started to act differently all of sudden and attracted too much attention.
Once I was done with that I started working part two of the plan. I returned to my tent, grabbed my stuff and got back to base. It took me a few hours to make the fake memory, it wasn’t a very long memory, it was about 4 minutes long and was just a memory of Hagrid leaving olivanders and buying Hedwig, pretty insignificant right, yet it too so much time to make it, its just ridiculous. Anyway, it’s all in the past so who cares.
Next all I had to do was buy Hedwig and wait for Hagrid in the alley, I had no idea when he would show up, so I had to wait for him for more than an hour. Obviously, I didn’t wait for him in the alley, I could so easily get kidnapped, I was reading some books at Flourish and Blotts waiting for Harry and Hagrid to come buy the necessary textbooks.
Once I saw then I went to the alley and about ten minutes later hagrid showed up, now all I had to do was cast a gemino curse on the stone, put the original in my ring and the copy in his pocket, I quickly erased his memory and implanted the fake one, gave him Hedwig and undid the imperius curse and voila.
It was the perfect crime, next time I might rob a bank. Jokes aside I was feeling so good once it was all over with, I mean I was so stressed I couldn’t even eat.
Now that it was all over all I had to do was get back to the manor and switch with dobby I was still flying high on my success when I got home.
I mean so many things could have gone wrong and the timing was so strict I mean damn.
Anyway once I got home a had a hearty meal, you have no idea how hungry now that I was free of all that stress.
