Trigger Warnings : Description of Gore
It was like any old day of autumn. The skies had an orange hue to it as time passed by, and the leaves fluttered gracefully in the wind. He couldn't help but sigh as a new day came. Reaching around aimlessly to his bedside table, he knocked over countless things before founding his initial target. Peeling his sharp eyes open, they gave out a frosty glare, but as he stared at the object with infatuation, his glare softened.
In his hand was a small console adorned with cutesy decorations and a "girly" aesthetic. Heaving his stiff body from the comfort of his bed, he applied pressure to the power button and a bright flash of white lighted blinded him. A bubbly theme song reverberated from the console and bright character popped up. Smiling to himself, the title appeared on the screen.
'♡︎ My Sweet Treats to my Beloved ♡︎ '
Every time he saw the opening, happiness practically warmed his icy veins. To this day he still did not regret paying ¥35,000 for the game excluding the cost of the console as without it you wouldn't be able to play it which caused quite the outroar but it was swept away by the praises on how wonderful the gameplay and lore was.
Clicking play on the screen, he was quickly immersed in the vibrant background. His mind was filled with different thoughts that were halted when the sweet voice of his beloved reverberated from the screen. Looking down at the screen, the beauty in front of him mesmerised him yet again.
Nagano Hiroki
He is a sickly student at New Blossom High that had held back a year because of his medical condition. He is also one of the five capture targets of the MC. He has light strawberry pink hair that just about reaches his shoulders. Grey eyes that are like clouds that could swall0w you whole. His delicate fingers that lapped around each other and his dimples that dot his adorable face with another layer of cuteness.
In the game, he is known as both the easiest and hardest target to capture for two reasons. First, he has at least 50 different scripted events that all have different choices, each playthrough causing it to be hard to speed run the game and it forces to the player to actually "understand" them.
That is why there isn't any save feature and the game doesn't allow you to restart until you've completed their route to the maximum and this rule is especially enforced through his route. This makes him hard to capture if you only see him as a trophy to be gained instead of a sentient being with his own will and desire, thinking about how so many people believe Hiroki as just a toy for their entertainment irked him to no ends.
But all the trouble is worth it when you get his Happily Ever After ending. Although it is just a legend. And he, Okabe Jun, shall achieve that mythical ending spectacularly. His frosted gaze settled into a warmer one as Hiroki greeted him as he entered the infirmary. "Jun! Fine morning, is it not?"
Choosing the option that fit his setting best, he said, "Hiroki, are you sure you'll be okay? I wouldn't want to see you even more sick." He tried to convey as much of his worry from outside of the game to him.
"Jun, you don't need to worry, I'll be out of bed and ready to start baking!" Hiroki replied with a warm smile. Jun walked over to be beside his bed and grabbed a nearby chair and dragged it closer to himself before sitting.
"Just don't push yourself too much, else I'll chain you to bed." He jokingly threatened with was replied with a small chuckle from Hiroki's side of the screen."But really though, I hope you and I can enter the Sweet Treats & Delights Festival in 3 months."
"Will do! Now, shoo~shoo, don't use me as an excuse for missing class again!" He pouted angrily and swivelled away from Jun's view. Jun only sighed before getting up and leaving the infirmary, but not without a glance over his shoulder. On the console, a CG with Hiroki sitting on the bed looking at the fully blooming cherry blossoms, once again highlighting his beauty.

Sighing in satisfaction, he was grateful that that fateful day had happened, else Hiroki wouldn't even be in his life now.
As he maneuvered his character to walk down the corridors, he was split on what class to choose. This game had a unique gameplay style that fitted the plot of the story. The MC is a new student at New Blossom High and had nothing interesting going on for them until as they were leaving the school premise; it started pouring heavily and no matter how cliche it sounded they had forgotten their umbrella at home.
Deciding that they'll just run home, they got ready, but someone handed them an umbrella that hid their face before the MC could get a better look at their face. They had stuffed a flier in their hands and rushed off, only leaving with the few words of, "Join our club!". On the flier was recruitment for the baking club that was close to shutting down. Knowing they had nothing going in their life, they joined the club and now that they had joined the club they find out the last month of this year aka at the end of the game there will be a festival.
So basically the MC is trying to find the mysterious person and begins to fall in love as they go. As it was said before cliche.
As he was deciding on the stat increase (class), he decided on the physical stat increase. Rotating the joystick forwards, he tried to take them into the class, yet his character still kept walking forwards without stopping.
Eventually it had passed all the classrooms, Jun tried to rotate his character around, even trying to power it on and off, but it was like everything was frozen. Fortunately, his character had finally stopped moving forwards instead it turned around and faced him. Not the screen.
But him.
Jun was startled when an eerie smile was painted onto the 8-Bit character. The surrounding area was pitch black, but the faint outline of the classrooms was somewhat visible, yet the things inside it were nightmare fuel. Underneath it, a text box appeared. The sound was an indication of something being written but no text appeared, he bended closer to the screen but was frightened by the jumpscare of his character jumping at the screen.
Then the screen went black.
And in came the opening sequence of the game, yet this time there was something more unsettling layered underneath it. The previous scene still lingered in his mind, causing his subconscious senses to alert him that something was clearly wrong was happening in the background.
The song was becoming more distorted the longer he refused to press play. Before he could do anything, the game began on its own, restarting from where he began before.
"Jun! Fine morning, is it not?" The same bubbly voice reverberated from the console.
Looking at the options that were similar to the first time, he said, "Hiroki, are you sure you'll okay? I wouldn't want to see you even more destroyed." The option felt a lot more weird than it was supposed to be.
"Jun, you don't need to worry, I'll be out of bed and ready to-!" Hiroki replied with a warm smile. Jun couldn't help but get a little sweaty as to why it restarted.
"What the hell is happening! I swear if this erases all my effort for Hiroki, I'll-" Before he could begin with his threat, the next line of text startled him and caused him to fall down a rabbit hole he never should have.
"nOthInG iS gOinG to eB ERASED!" A disembodied voice came from the screen. On it Hiroki, with a blacked out eyes and an open stomach with his organs slipping out slopping onto the floor as he hung from the ceiling, it wasn't in the art style of the game but instead looked so lifelike. Jun sat there shellshocked. He stood up abruptly and ran to the bathroom.
The vertigo that hit him caused him to feel even more sick.
Finally arriving in the bathroom, he threw his guts out but because of him not having eaten anything, only bitter bile flew out, staining his throat with an awful taste. He laid there silently and tried to close his eyes, but Hiroki's disemboweled body appeared in his mind, causing him to become faint again.
The more he threw up, the more his vision blurred to the point everything was just big splotches of colour. A small voice from nowhere appeared, saying unintelligible words that he could not understand. But for some reason he said yes, and it went silent until finally everything faded to black.

"Join our club!" A silvery voice, which was not dampened by the heavy rain that thundered in the background, came from the lips of the mysterious person. Jun stood there dazedly with a vacant expression as he stared down at the flier. He tried to look at the face of the person but could not see their face with the umbrella blocking his view. Before he could even get a word out, their figure was in the distance already.
He stared at the colourful words on the flier and only one word came out of his mouth.
"F*ck."
