The sea roared as the waves splashed over the sandy beach, seagulls calling as the tangy sea sprayed what the tides couldn't reach.
The salty air assailed my nostrils, and the rustling palm did little to calm my nerves as I looked at the curious child next to my feet.
"Big bro, are you alright? I know it's fun, but you shouldn't stand so close to the cliff."
The boy, presumably around the age of thirteen, had spiky red, upward-pointing hair, thin eyebrows, and crystalline blue eyes.
He had also caught me right before I jumped off the cliff, which was fortunate. In hindsight, jumping off at a populated area was a terrible idea. I would have traumatized several children, and would have probably ruined the day of countless tourists, not to mention the damage I would deal to the reputation and businesses in this area...
Seeing me go silent, the boy probably assumed I was sad that he didn't let me enjoy the ocean breeze, because he suddenly looked very worried.

"Big bro... Do you not have a swimming suit?" He asked in a grave voice, as if terrified of the implications of his own words.
...I indeed lacked a swimming suit.
One thing led to another, and now I am wearing a complimentary swimming suit provided by the hotel, kneeling on the sun-drenched, golden sand, not too far from its moist, damp counterpart soaked by the foamy tides.
I had somehow ended up babysitting the children in the azure expanse, watching over them alongside their mother while the dad left to surf for a while, who appreciated my help. She was essentially blind without her spectacles, and she didn't want to wear them amidst the crashing waves, understandably.
Currently, I was making sandcastles with the children.
It's harder than you'd think, and that actually only makes it all the more fun. You shove wet sand into a bucket, pat it down to compact it until it can no longer hold any sand, and then flip it around. You pat the back of the bucket, and voila! You get a bucket shaped mound which you then shave away to shape your creations.
Before I realised it, the sun had gone down.
Soon, it was their time to leave. The parents thanked me for spending time with the children.
As they walked away, I waved awkwardly. The redhead from earlier, whose name I learnt was Sean, waved back energetically.
"Thanks, big bro! Today was so much fun. Let's play again someday!"
...yeah, it was fun.
...I wanna do it again.
Lost in thoughts, I turned around.
I had a phone call to make.
