I should have run away when I had the chance, Drac regretted as the large hand of the old man was about to choke his windpipe once and for all.
“Bishop Yuriel,” He heard a woman’s voice, “We need information sire. Do not kill him,”
The old man seemed to have taken offense from the words, as his grip around Drac’s neck increased. But soon, the old man sighed and let him go.
Drac landed on his knees, coughing, trying to breathe. He then glared into the eyes of the old man, while the other did the same. “Count your lucky stars that I am not in the mood to fight. Otherwise, I would have fucked you up.. You wrinkly old fuck,”
The old man smirked, “You can try,”
Drac pushed himself up and then turned to Daniel who was standing beside him, “Who the fuck is the tall fucker?”
The woman with the old man then came forward with a sly smirk on her face, “You know we can have your tongue for that,”
“You wanna go?” he rolled up his sleeves and raised his fist, “I will fuck you up as well bitch,”
The old man then swung his arms, causing Drac to fly sideways. Tearing the tent, Drac flew into some of the soldiers outside. The soldiers were alarmed to see him, but none of them tried to help him.
Now fuming he stood up, to feel some liquid on his cheek. He brushed his cheek, only to realize that he was bleeding. The crazy part was that he could feel the energy in him already working, trying to heal and seal the wound as soon as he could.
This is it. I will fry that fucker in oil, then feed it to worms.
As he turned around to confront the man, but then he heard it. It started with one screech, followed by three more, and then many more. He could feel it in his bones, countless Vampas were making their way toward him. He was about to smile when he saw little Agatha coming from the hole in the tent towards him. She looked at him with worry.
They would be able to handle them right? He couldnt help but ask himself.
“Are you alright?” Agatha asked as she made her way towards him.
“Get away from her little girl,” the woman with the old man also came out to greet them. “You should not go near sinners little angel. Otherwise, you might burn in hell with them,”
A part of Drac wanted to make a run for it, some part of him stayed because of Agatha. Then an idea formed in his mind, “The cross, the grumpy old fuck, and a woman who thinks I am a sinner… You are people of the church, aren't you?”
The woman smirked, “Took you long enough,”
But his next question confused her, “You follow the words of Lord Itab, right?”
The woman raised her eyebrow, and then nodded, “Yeah, why?”
“As I sinner, I would be executed. As soon as you got information out of me, right?” With a victorious smile, she smirked again, “Then do me a favor. Call the last wish of the prisoner of Lord Itab,”
The church of this world follows the code of conduct written in the sacred book of Itab. It is kind of like a holy scripture, and luckily Drac had read it. According to the book, even a sinner deserves a wish before he is sent to hell. The rule was because of some karma bullshit, but he realized that he might be able to use it here.
“Do you think that you have the power to demand anything from me?” the woman said venomously.
“I am not demanding. I am telling you, as the prisoner of Lord Itab, that my last wish is for you to protect the small child from the doom heading our way. That is all I ask for,”
This time the woman looked confused, “What doom?”
On cue, several firecrackers were shot into the sky, from almost every direction. Horns were blown, and suddenly the whole camp was in uproar, commanders started barking orders, while the soldiers hurriedly started taking their positions. The old man and the black inquisitor came running toward them as well,

“What is happening?” the old man asked.
Drac then grimly said, “That is my cue to get the fuck out of here,”
It is then the ground to their south suddenly burst open, creating a very large crater. From the hole pale white creature bearings fangs started pouring in the camp. Chaos spread all around the camp within a few seconds. Soldiers started leaving their posts, trying to find cover and some trying to just survive. Some Vampas came running towards the Bishop as well, but the black inquisitor came between them.
At the same time, a large number of Vampas from the forest also started attacking the camp as well.
Drac then took a sword lying around and looked at the woman for the last time, “Remember your duty bitch,” then he started running towards the hole that the Vampas were constantly pouring out of.
“STOP HIM!” the old man yelled and the woman ran after him, only to be attacked by the creatures. For some reason, the Vampas completely ignored him, even as he crashed into some of them while running. To the Vampas the high-level mana wielders had more appeal.
“ENOUGH!” Drac a yell from behind and a powerful golden shockwave hit him from behind knocking him off his feet. When he stood up again, he saw that most of the Vampas in the camp were dead, while Bishop was looking angrily at him.
“GET…..” Before Bishop could yell the rest of the sentence a red beam hit him straight on his chest sending him flying. Drac turned around to see the biggest Vampas that he had ever laid his eyes on.
The thing was at least 10 feet tall on his four legs and looked like some sort of alien dinosaur to him. Unlike normal Vampas, the spine of this one was filled with 5-inch spikes that seemed to be originating from its spine. And there seem to be two small horns coming out of his skull.
Drac also started hearing a tune in his ears, which sounded more like a high-pitched vibration. Instinctively he knew that it was the tune that had stopped all the Vampas in their tracks, along with him.
That fucker is an Alpha. In the books of Nosferatu, the old dark mage mentioned the packs of the Vampas being led by the strongest Vampas in the group. Like most beasts in the wild, this Alpha Vampas led the whole group into the hunt and was able to coordinate with other members of the group.
I get it. These Vampas communicate in a frequency that is not audible to normal humans. With my transformation not only I can hear this frequency, but communicate with his frequency as well.
I was then he felt it, and the frequency changed. And it was directed towards him.
A chill ran down Drac’s spine, as he felt that the frequency was meant to challenge him in a duel. He realized that the big guy probably wanted to challenge him, one Alpha to another.
Why me? What have I done to deserve such shitty luck? He thought when he heard a yell. He looked to his right and saw the black inquisitor running towards the Big Guy, seeing this as his cue, he also started running and jumped into the hole…
The battle with the Big Vampas and the people of the church was legendary, at least that was what he liked to think based on the sounds of the blasts that he heard from the caves. He had never been to war, but the sounds of the explosion that he heard from there made him sure that modern wars would surely sound like that.
Although he was surprised by the power that was being shown in the fight, he was surprised to see the connection of underground tunnels that he was walking in. They were big enough for most of the Vampas to go through it, but there was no way in hell the Big Guy was fitting down here if that thing was still alive. While the tunnels themselves seem to be spanning for miles ahead.
Nosferatu mentioned that Vampas were smart enough to create tunnels like these all around the island, but never in a million years would I have suspected that something like these tunnels could be made.
Another thing that surprised him was the abundance of the small fries in the tunnels. He had been walking in the tunnels for about half an hour so, and he had accumulated around a kilo of small and large blood orbs. His sword was now stained by the blood of Vampas, along with his clothes. At one point he had to create a makeshift pouch out of his shirt, but in the end, it was all worth it.
While walking in the tunnels Drac also learned another new ability that he had acquired, night vision. No beam of light was able to enter the tunnels, still, he was able to see as clearly as the day. It was a blessing considering it didnt hinder his day vision…
There it is, he thought as he laid his eyes on an opening that he could see. A beam of sunlight was making its way inside from the opening. There is my ticket out of here.
When he made his way outside, Drac was greeted by sunlight in full force, making him weak. He stretched his body and looked around, he didnt know where exactly he was, but based on the trees around him, he figured that he might not be as far away from the camp as he thought. Thus, quickly he started heading East, towards the Jonia castle.
Drac knew that Victoria was heading that way, and based on the time that he had wasted, in addition to the time he had been in the cocoon, he realized that there might be a chance that she might as well be halfway there. But he also knew that this winter would not be kind to her, and would slow down a lot. Lucky for him, the cold doesn't affect him. Combined with not feeling fatigued, he realized that if he really pushed himself he would be able to make his way to Jonia Castle before she did.
At least that was the plan for now…
