Advent of Superpowers - The first superpowered individuals appeared in the late 1940s. It is not known exactly how superpowers came to be but it is theorized that nuclear testing and a solar flare that occurred in 1947. Superpowers don’t have a specific trigger like stress but it has been noted that a person's trigger is unique to them and their power such as gaining super strength from lifting rubble from a family member.
First Super War - The First Super War was a culmination of decades of the United States Government kidnapping, blackmailing. Experimenting on supers when in 1965 a superhero called Crimson Cape (Flight, super strength, speed, and invulnerability powers) killed the President after his family was killed when the government tried to use them to force the Crimson Cape to join the United States Super Team, the war lasted eighteen months. It resulted in multiple cities being destroyed and many civilian casualties. Still, the war laid the grounds for The Super Act protecting powered individual's rights, the war also laid the foundation for the unwritten rules of being a Super the first being “Never mess with a supers family”.
Second Super War - The Second Super War was started when in 1999 the Superpower Registration Act was passed after The supervillain Dr. Mobius almost destroyed Florida when one of his “grand plans” went awry and had to be stopped by the super team Floridamen (and women). The Act would force people who awaken powers to register their powers with their legal name and address this caused an outcry from super communities as the fear was that having a database of names and addresses of supers would lead to the civilian identities of supers being exposed leading to attacks on families and friends. Supers were divided over the registration act with some stating it would prevent another Dr Mobius before they could cause damage. Others argued that the act would cause more harm than good with how supers usually react when their family is involved. The war started when a peaceful protest of the act ended in violence when the AAST (All American Super Team) were too forceful with a civilian super causing their death and a riot to start. With the spark lit the riot quickly spread across the United States of America, the riots devolved into fights in the streets and then into full-blown war when Manhattan (the super, Nuclear powers) used his powers on Chicago turning the city into a wasteland. The War lasted two years resulting in multiple cities leveled fourteen million dead and the United States fractured with multiple states seceding from the union California being one of them.
New Halcyon - Halcyon was first founded by the superhero Halcyon (who had the power of future and past vision) in 1989 in California along the coast. The city was to be a heaven with powerful supers like Halcyon protecting the rights of any super who moved there. The city was almost destroyed during the second super war with Halcyon and many of the protectors being killed when Necros (Necromancy Superpower) marched his undead horde on the city. The sudden power vacuum after the death of Halcyon allowed for mega-corporations to take over the city by rebuilding the city from the ruins it had become after the war. New Halcyon was rebuilt by 2006 once again to become a haven for supers with lax laws about the use of superpowers and superheroes being treated as celebrities; this has caused a boom in super activity.

Infracorp - founded in the 1970s, Infracorp is the leading supplier of super-related insurance as well as construction their headquarters are located in New Halcyon, with 47% of the livable parts of the city owned and insured by them. The corporation is one of the few run by an unpowered board of directors. Infracorp’s construction side hires many powered civilians to help with construction. Infracorp has a regional headquarters in New Halcyon with their main branch in New New New York.
Gentech - founded by Helix in 2024 Gentech has been a leader in medical technology for twenty years advancing medical technology and medicine by years. Their bleeding edge genetic engineering and Biological cybernetics Gentech has been able to augment superheroes to increase or add powers so they can better protect New Halcyon. Gentech has a regional headquarters in New Halcyon with the main Headquarters located in France
Archimedes - Founded by the Tinkerer superhero Archimedes in 2000 so that the hero could sell his tinkertech during the Second Super War, the corporation quickly rose to prominence with its line of weapons the AER could be used by any nonpowered person that would allow them to contend with lesser powered people, from there the corporation quickly grew and by 2015 had its a part in most aspects of life from food production to military hardware anything Archimedes tries it succeeded in. Archimedes has sat at the number one place in the Big 5 since 2027. Archimedes has its headquarters located in New Halcyon. Archimedes (hero) is still the figurehead of the corporation at 92 with no signs of slowing down the mega-corporation has a bright future.
Kurogawa - Founded by the Japanese Tinkerer hero Kajiya in 1967 Kajiya used his Tinkerer superpower to help bring Japan out of its recession by creating and selling to the world his Tinkertech being one of the first to use his powers for more than just advanced technology creating cheaper alternatives to everyday products such as household appliances, cars and infrastructure creating jobs and opportunities for people. Nowadays the mega-corporation has its fingers in most business opportunities but is widely known for their hover vehicles. Kurogawa is a rival to Archimedes losing its first place in 2027. Kurogawa’s headquarters is in Tokyo, Japan but keeps a large presence in New Halcyon with its regional headquarters and the large Japanese population in districts seven and eight.
Krasnoglobal - was founded by the Soviet Union as a counter to the advancement of the West post-Advent of Superpowers, using their tinkerers the soviet union made great strides in military and domestic technology. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 Krasnoglobal was sold to a group of super-powered individuals that turned the bloated corporation into one of the largest military-industrial complexes, known for their reliable weaponry and a paramilitary with little scruples Krasnoglobal has clients across the globe. Whilst Krasnoglobal doesn’t have much of a foothold in New Halcyon they can still be hired for any job from their regional headquarters.
