He had singlehandedly reduced the continent-spanning demon republic into a collection of tribes and slaves. Even gods weren't safe. Only Wight the god of humans was allowed to have a following in his land.

Pope Octavius sighed. His inquisition had caught refugees after burning the elven forests. They claimed to be human druids but feared the light of Wight. He turned a corner and smiled. The prisoners were being brought to the gates of the city. He turned to his advisors

" Tell the peasantry about the execution. These elves cannot be allowed to escape."

Over one thousand people gathered in the Colosseum. In the center, humans in armor brought forth a dozen people. Embossed iron chains trapped them between the staffs of two lightning mages. The crowd watched as soldiers kicked the knees out of the prisoners.

The Audience never expected the screams. Childlike screams from the burning trees. The Pope began to back away. The Pope forgot to consider the age conversion. By attempting to convert the elves into humans and seal their magic, he had turned them into children. The Seal had been burning their power to adhere to their souls, but the elves had tried to use fire magic and ignited the seal. Pope Octavious watched elves burn on a pyre of their own making.
