(Aeyrs POV)
My brother managed to fend off an army of half a million elves and won with almost a single spell. Amazing, the only word that could come to mind, was all I could think about it. I didn’t know what was going on for the majority of his disappearance, but when I saw Oronix fly to me, with all of the in-game world boss stats, I nearly shit myself until I noticed that he was tamed. Ashen had been in so many random situations that it didn’t seem like it could be random, and with a name like The Puppet Master, it was probably her doing.
I went back to the demon lands after a brief meeting with Ashen, Premium, Planthra, and Titan, as misfortune was still on a mission and didn’t have the time to be there in person, but was given the information with messaging magic. The Puppet Master, what did she want with Ashen anyway? He was strong for sure, but I can’t quite trust anyone when it comes to Ashen, sometimes I even doubt myself in protecting him. I think it would be a good decision to get this city done, for future use too.
As of now, the ‘city’ was a few dozen buildings that were mostly homes, which were greatly needed. I decided that having the demons create their homes to be taking too long, and the benefit of having their loyalty would be infringed upon by the time any real progress was made. I bit the bullet and opened up my pocket dimension, pulling out what could only be described as a miniature green building, as generic as possible. Planting the thing into the ground in an empty area, with plenty of demons watching, the building sprung to life.
It grew a few sizes before rapidly flattening into a large flat square, that started to spring into evenly spaced buildings, mostly homes with several general utility ones mixed in. The newly build block was 196 buildings altogether, compared to the mere 47 the demons made, regardless of their size. With a now, large village or small town, few demons walked over to inspect the buildings and were amazed by their findings.
The buildings were made from galolite, a rough silver colored stone that was nearly 50% stronger than concrete. I didn’t see any galolite so far but was fairly sure it was either rare, from their reactions, expensive, or even non-existent, at least until now that is. I repeated the process a few more times, with several square kilometers covered in generic but lavish buildings. The number of houses was enough to keep tens of thousands for the moment.
After about an hour or so, The homes were packed full, exceeding capacity, but still livable conditions. I finally got to a reasonable stopping point in deciding the future of what’s to come for the town. I was about to go back to the guild base when one of the demons started walking over to me, which was frequent enough that I hadn’t expected anything from it. The demon had smaller gray horns that had plenty of signs that signified that they were old, and his face was befitting the horns with its wrinkled light grey skin and spoke to me in a wise and raspy voice.
“My lord, these buildings are wonderful, but are you sure you could afford such luxuries on us?” So I was right on rare or expensive, that was good to know.
“If it is for my people, no cost is too high,” I spoke with powerful words that would have moved any normal man to tears, but was also partially talking out of my ass in several subjects.
“Well, if it is as you desire lord. Oh, another thing! The other, demons, were wondering what had happened to the first demon that visited us, and subjugated us?” Oh yeah, after that, Ashen never really checked on them.
“He is still around, and I am his brother. He delegated the management of your populace to me, as he has other matters that require his more immediate focus as of late.” To be completely honest, it kinda seems like I'm more of a servant than a brother to him.
He fidgeted for a moment, “Well alright then, please carry on, that was all.” I guess civil unrest could happen to any group of people huh?
He left, and I resumed my duties, as I’ve been doing for quite some time now. I slowly read through my list of spells and skills, and then titles to get a feel of how interconnected their bonuses were. It was what Ashen told me to do, and it was a good suggestion, as I’ve already learned of ways to abuse my newfound powers. The titles could boost spells and skills to a ridiculous degree, especially the static bonuses. While most of my magic was dragon variants of spells, the titles would grant them such an increase, it would be on par with some of Ashen’s fire magic.
My list of titles was much smaller than Ashen’s, sitting at 27, most likely caused by the differences that we have. He was heavily magic-based and I was more skill-based, and knowing how heavily this world relies on magic, it was obvious who would have more titles. Still, I had to hand it to him, he tried so hard to be strong that he forgot the reason why, and it was for the best anyway. His past was so littered with dark and tragic events, that if he were to remember, things wouldn’t be the same…
Pushing the memories and a single tear from my eye, I teleported to the castle, soon finding a small written note on the table in the conference room. It was magically created, so it was Ashen’s, as no NPC would use magic for something like this. The note was short and right to the point. Going to investigate a dungeon, continue the management of the demon lands. You can leave control of Wheatberg to the former lord and a new subject of mine. Should return by night, if not, send a message, if I don’t respond to it, send another in the morning.
Well, here I am stuck playing some civilization management game while my brother is off playing some dungeon crawler one. This is so-not-fair! I can’t believe he would just dump all the work onto me like this, I deserve to lie freely in this world as much as he did! Then again, if I were to, more instances like The Puppet Master would occur, so maybe not so much. And again, he also had a lot of responsibilities that he took care of without even asking for my help. I overreacted, Ashen sill has it FAR worse than I do, he still has just as many tasks, and plenty more.
He was a good guy, don’t get me wrong, but he just acts like a machine at times. Making him seem so cold, and as if he were an AI, you know, if he didn’t complain after everything he does, especially if it was something where he has to go out of how he normally acts. It’s scary sometimes, even to me, and I know how bad he can get when he is truly devastated emotionally…
Anyways, I’ve work to do, and it is interesting, at least it is getting there. Ruling a town, or at this point a kingdom, is enjoyable, watching your populace grow and expand, survive and thrive, eat and work, it is all warming to my heart. I’ve seen how the demons had already organized themselves into rankings, and the highest of which, became the political leaders, and those just under are either helping them or joined a sort of militia.
If Ashen would allow it, I would use one of the God Artifacts to summon a metropolis, but we both know that’d be an enormous waste of a non-replenishable resource. God Artifacts were pieces of golden and lightly tinted metal that would grant a high-tier wish or could be combined in a total of 100 to create a god class NPC, which we do have. Deep beneath the castle, an NPC is secured, kept a secret from Ashen and most other members of the guild, kept locked away, until one day, that fateful day that I hope never comes, they will be released, and used to stop the chaos as it unfolds.
God Artifacts were of course, rare, not of classification, as it was a godly item, but as in, near-impossible to find. They were scattered throughout the many planes of Sugarea and would move randomly every day, and every month a new one would be spawned to replace any ones that were found, and of course, after found, they wouldn’t randomly teleport. They even intrigued me and Ashen, and we even made attempts at recreating them, but of course, none were ever close enough.
This brings up a new idea, if Ashen was a god and they were God Fragments, then in theory Ashen should be able to create them. Even the in-game gods, when killed, dropped a few every so often, so the premise was there. Although, there was the possibility that he would only drop them upon death, so that was off the table. If he couldn’t make them besides death, then it was still alright, as we did have a few of these just lying around, but the true problem would be if it started an event, like the ones it would back in Sugarea.
To balance out the item, it had a random chance to either work as planned or also start an event. One such event happened years ago, back when we made our secret NPC, but what happened was unimaginable. From all sides of the castle, grew an army thicker than blood, and had many millions of completely random monsters attacking. From skeletons to bears, from goblins to trolls, from war ants to even dragons.
Only a day after, another onslaught occurred, and we faced 20 before they ceased, and it was a long and difficult time. We tried to defend to our best abilities, and we did. It was obvious that we won, and even gained from it in the end, as all of the souls that they dropped were used to upgrade the walls of the castle to an unreasonable degree. Where it sits now, the walls are unbreakable, the admins said so themselves, it was the player equivalent of the safe-zone buildings.
Anyway, to get back on topic, there wasn’t much risk with using a God Artifact to create a town for the demons, but the true problem might lie in what they would think or how they’d react if any knew what it was. I only hoped Ashen would see them worthy enough to use good equipment for their sake. And as of late, most of the demons were running low on food supplies, and most still slept in either tents or cruddy magic lodgings. A good majority even slept outside, either standing or lying on the cold hard ground.
The demons could be useful, in case we either want to rule a kingdom or country in the future or if we wanted to have a massive amount of people to get resources. Just think, if a dozen lumberjacks could cut down, let's say, thirty trees on average; what could a thousand lumberjacks do? Or a couple thousand miners or craftsmen, or even blacksmith? The sheer amount of potential they had was overwhelming, to say the least, but they didn’t utilize it.
Finally finishing a plan of action, I decided to wait until night for his return or to send a message about it. But until night, which was still a while away, I still got work to do. Speaking of, I still have to look into some of the issues that keep stacking up with Ashen’s stunt of going to the guild without disguise. Many were talking of a great demon who invaded but nobody knew much more than what happened; a demon walked in, registered at the guild and took on a quest, that was all there was to it.
Ashen even started to become a primary talking point in Arlen, and the royal capital, even Misfortune was reporting about the stories and tales regularly. Sometimes, she even reports stories about Ashen that are so exaggerated and unrealistic that they made me laugh. Some stupid folk even go as far as to say they ‘let him live’ or ‘he was too far beneath me, killing him would be a waste of time and energy’. I wanted to find these people, and see if they can hold up to their words, which I knew they couldn’t.
Still, most of what Misfortune reports isn’t all that helpful, with some, even being useless, but she was told to report in detail of all her findings. She was an NPC, and if she were not already tasked with espionage, I would have liked for her to assist me in the construction of the demon lands, because she could gather information on whether it was working well or not faster than I could. She was also capable of changing her face, making her especially useful for sneaking stealth which helped a lot whenever a raid occurred.
She would slowly kill and replace an infiltrating group, by killing someone secretly and acting in their place, she was capable of doing this process many times in the past. Still, she has given me and Ashen great information and informed us of quite a bit of the king’s recent actions. The king tried to band the continent together, for obvious purposes when a great demon appeared, and it was also a fairly smart move when you consider things from his perspective.
Although, what he couldn’t have known, was that Misfortune was watching him, that we now have control of over half the continent, and that we have the strongest military might on the continent, at least, to Misfortune’s knowledge. It was also near impossible for the king to have known about any of Ashen’s plans or goals, as he only briefly met with him, and I knew a small amount as well. If I were him, I’d attempt to make a treaty of some kind between the Banarainian Empire and the Dragon Eye Alliance.
Sighing, as that was all I could do when I’ve had a lot on my mind, I sat down in my lavish throne and started to rest my face in my hands. Only lifting it back up after a cycle of maids entered and promptly started to do their duties, and I decided to stand up. With my strong body, I promptly and suddenly stood up giving the two maids a slight scare, which was quickly overlooked as they continued their work. I walked slowly out of the room, and down the long hallways until reaching a place that me and Ashen always enjoyed going to.
In the large room, filled with all sorts of magical books laying disastrously across endless bookshelves or stacked ever so high in large mounds of towering stacks. With tomes and grimoires mixed in, and some thick booklets of spell scrolls and magical rune guides and the like filling the room making it hard to maneuver. The library was where Ashen spent a great deal of his time, nearly a full real-life year in total, researching spells and runes. He was also one of the three leading heads in the magical development corp, which were responsible for creating new runic formulas and even spells for everyone to use.
I looked around and took in the scenery, it was exactly as I and Ashen had left it only a few hours before we came to this world, and it filled my heart with joy. The thought of him enjoying himself was great and that I could be alongside him was even greater, yet it seems that he got pushed around a little and was also responsible for the majority of the magical corp’s creations. I knew he enjoyed doing such things, as he never complained, even bragging about it at times, but it still bothered me about his lack of courage to not be bossed around.
I came to a cluttered desk, it had plenty of loose papers and books and plenty of small metal discs that had runes etched into them, and found a paper that caught my eye. Picking it up carefully, I was greeted by a spell circle, and my god was it insane. The spell circle had at least thirty layers of rings, and the inner ring, which had the least runes, had thousands of them etched in as small of markings as possible. I looked at the top of the paper and read its title, Galaxy Buster.
And holy shit, it was a tier 25 spell, and he made this from scratch! This wasn’t even a spell in the game! The runic formula had no errors, that I could tell anyway, and I would bet everything that it’d work if I could learn it. I looked through a few other papers and came across something I thought not possible Null magic. Don’t get me wrong, Ashen was smart, clever, and ingenious, but to utilize the magic that admins and Village Guardians used? That was something I’ve not thought to be possible, even for him.
Null magic was just as sounds, it would nullify any magic it came across, even high tier spells. If the Null magic spell was eight tiers or less below the spell it came into contact with, it would always overpower it. And not only did he have a way to cast a Null magic spell, but he had the base model for Null magic scripts, meaning he could continue to upgrade and refine them as he gained knowledge on how it works. This was HUGE, and right about now I would have thought I needed to never speak of anything like this to any other player, besides Ashen of course, due to the sheer power a Null magic spell could hold.
A player using a really powerful magical attack? Null magic. Player using magical defense to block damage? Null magic. Player with too many magical summons? Null magic. It was a solution to most problems that it could stand a great chance to even overpower Ashen himself. And if he was able to conquer Null magic, then he’d be able to completely overtake the normal spell types in terms of quality and quantity of spells. Just his fire magic alone could be boosted to such a high degree that it could overpower or outnumber any other spell type.
I tried to read the magical script on the Null magic paper, and it was so confusing it gave me a headache immediately, leaving me baffled as to how Ashen could have created something like this. The script behind this was more than a hundred times more dense than the Galaxy Buster one, and it had nearly fifty layers. I pushed my mind to the limit and tried to read the first line, which I was able to due to my memorization of the runic language but some runes were completely new to me, not the runes themselves, but the words they were to represent.

The first line roughly translated to The empty consumes the full, The nothing absorbs the all. And after that, I gave up on, it seemed to create almost a million words or more, and the spell itself would probably be of a higher tier if not, I have little hope to learn any. I hoped dearly that Ashen could teach me anything at all on Null magic, and if he did, out total strength would increase over a hundred-fold.
I heard a knock from the door, in fact, it was there for a long while now and walked over to it. Opening the door, I was greeted by one of the other NPCs that were of the tier right under premium and the others, I believe their name was, Rubidia? Anyway, she was a magic caster and carried a stupidly crooked wooden staff, and had long and recently-furled robes that hung loosely from the elevated portions of her body, which itself was of a tender young age.
I believe they had made her 17, and she was a half-human half-zheln, indicated by her abnormally small and cute face. Zheln were human-like sapient creatures that players could play as, but had relatively no difference to humans but were always smaller, faster and younger-looking variants. She, of course, looked only to be around eight or nine even, and she had the body to support it, as she was nearly 40 kilograms and had a body half the size of mine.
She looked rather annoyed, as it was her personality to be an arrogant child-like person, and she soon coughed to indicate a greeting from either of us. Looking back to my hand, which still had the paper in it, I quickly rushed back to the desk, promptly returning it, and went back to her. She looked curiously but didn’t try to do anything, as even she knew the importance of keeping this room off-limits to all but Ashen and who he decides to let join him.
“Rubida? How can I help you?” I asked and to which she shifted slightly in her stance.
“We’ve another issue, a large floating landmass slowly draws near.” Wait, a floating island? Well, those were rare, but why would it be an issue?
“How large?” To which, she created a small holographic display of blue mana in between her separated palms which displayed the castle and an absolute hulking mass of land that came at crawling speeds through the air.
“It is still a day away, but it could take longer or shorter. What do you wish us to do?” Well, I would most certainly have a floating castle, or hell, even a kingdom.
“Find out if you can communicate with anyone on it, and transfer the knowledge to me, if you can as well, make peace with them for now.” I wondered what kind of people could inhabit the chunk of land, gnomes? Dwarves? I didn’t have a shred of information.
“Very well, as you wish my lord.” She said with a small bow with her left hand pointing with all fingers to her left after the magic ceased.
After she left, I closed the door once more, leaving myself to be taken away by the findings of Ashen and how brilliant he truly was when it came to magic. Rummaging around the pile of papers on the desk for a while, I found another paper that intrigued me dearly, very dearly. A dragon upgrade spell, one that could give permanent bonuses to a dragon or dragon-like species.
The spell, called: Draco-Forge, was nearly akin to leveling a hundred times in terms of raw power, not including all the other benefits. I wondered about how he could have made such a thing, already knowing the reason behind why he made it, and only thinking about the few dragons he had actually studied and did live experiments on, it was the only logical conclusion, that he discovered it during testing on one of them.
Slowly placing the paper back onto the desk, I rested my face into my hands once more, it was a sort of habit I had when I thought about things too heavily, and this time was no exception. Why would he work so hard to help others instead of helping himself? I wondered to myself, and it made me think harder and grow ever so sad while thinking about his past. He shouldn’t be so gracious towards others, and instead, he should be calculating and cruel to them.
But I still had much to do, and my work wouldn’t complete itself, so I had to get back to it. Leaving the library, and walking down the long and brilliantly designed passageways that were the hallways, I soon found the treasury ward, and entering I found a few other NPCs that stood guard, in replacement of Misfortune. They saw me and made way, only for me to take a few steps in, pocket a few gold pieces from the absolute monumental mound of coins, and walk back to where I came, I needed to purchase some supplies for the demon lands, and needed to get them from the trusted neighborhood Bandarainian kingdom…

(Premium POV)
Both my lords were busy away at work, and I still have no problems doing my duty of sweeping the mountains for any stray demons, monsters or even other humanoids. I’ve heard of dwarves in these mountains from Misfortune, and I’ve seen smoke pluming from the mountainside time and time again. Redoubling my efforts to search for any, I soon saw a glint of white amongst the rocks and quickly taking up a fighting position, the cause of it slowly showed itself, and at last! It was a dwarf! Finally, something that I can report besides some useless fucking mountain goats or golems!
It walked carefully towards me, only stopping briefly to call out to me, in a language, I did not know, so obviously I just sent a message to one of the recorders at the castle and stayed put, only giving a small utter a word that he didn’t know in response. He quickly grew aware of our language barrier and so he backed up and returned to the place behind the rocks he was once at, which seemed to be a large series of tunnels and was all interconnected. I will have to either learn the language naturally or ask one of my lords for me.
All members of the Dragon Eye Alliance were capable of instant learning of a language, no matter how complex. If I remember correctly, they used that to learn the local language of the native humans on their way to Arlen. Although, to ask them of such a thing would be ludicrous as they were the guild leader and could be seen as treason! I might be of the highest order of subjects, but to make requests that weren’t granted by them would be out of my league.
But if I were to learn the language naturally, it might get me in favor of them, and to please my lords is the greatest reward imaginable! That dwarf was different than the ones I was used to, as the ones we had encountered in the past tended to create dungeon-like structures that would act as homes and guild bases. Several other races did the same, but dwarves, in particular, were by far the best at it, as they had created several hundred of them in only a few years.
Not only was the amount better than other races, but the quality as well. Dwarven structures were in a league of their own, with how strong and reliable they were built. The one thing they lacked, however, was magic. They were strong individuals and would be fearsome in combat, but their magical prowess was about nothing. Not saying they couldn’t use magic, but to a degree so small it was almost negatable in combat or everyday life.
I went back to my duties for a few minutes and had a small update on the dwarven language spoken from the recorders at the castle, but they just noted it as a new language and were going to piece together the remaining words as they spoke them. Almost directly after the exchange of words with them ended I was greeted by the dwarf once more, but this time accompanied by nearly a dozen others.
Some had plate armor and hammers and swords, while others held strange metal devices in their hands and some even books. The dwarf I met spoke out in the same language I had heard before but still, I had not understood it, but I sent it all to the recorders for later deciphering. It had the same words as before but plenty more this time as well, so it would give the recorders a good amount to work with.
The others awaited a response, but I gave one they didn’t understand, “Greetings.” The ones who had books frantically flipped the pages and the ones with the devices started to flip switches and push buttons and so on. If I had to guess they wouldn’t be able to detect the language I used, but it would still be worth allowing them a chance to see if they could help bridge the gap in communication. I got a notification from one of the messengers from the castle, and they told me to return quickly.
I gave them a wave as they continued in their actions, and I quickly ran off in the direction of the castle. When I got there, after a few minutes of travel, of course, I quickly was informed of what had happened. Something in the sky kept glowing and tracked Ashen around, even when he entered the castle, so he recalled everyone to the castle to be safe, even Misfortune. And I got there right on time, as the light flashed in the sky and a large figure came from it, much like how a deity was summoned.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Ashen POV)
Just as I thought I couldn’t be annoyed further, especially after having to enter a dungeon, my magical aura picked up something directly above me in a super high concentration, so I teleported outside the dungeon. Look up, and seeing, although not with actual eyes, of course, a large vortex of holy mana was just accumulating above my head in the clouds. I teleported back to the castle, which seemed slightly harder to do, but it didn’t stop me.
I entered the castle, which was the single safest place on the planet for sure, and it still followed overhead. Not wanting to take risks, I recalled all NPCs and Aeyrs to come back, which they all did except for Misfortune and Premium as they were the farthest away, and I would have gotten Aeyrs to get Misfortune if something happened when she wasn’t there yet. Just as I left the castle doors, the clouds broke and a golden figure descended from it, quickly gaining other colors.
Now a large woman, seemingly human in appearance, hovering a few meters off the ground and nearly 10 meters tall, was in front of me. I was fairly certain it was a god, but only time will tell at this point. They looked calm, but I knew they were furious, they even had large angelic wings that would shake with hatred every few seconds just barely. They had an article of white clothing that just screamed ‘I’m a god, worship me”. Which I found to be useless, as if it didn’t provide protection or bonuses to your stats, it wasn’t worth looking that ridiculous.
They called out to me in an angelic voice that sounded loving but mixed with hatred, “Ashen. You’ve been found guilty of treason against the gods, what say you in your defense?” What? I didn’t do anything to no gods since I came here except for summoning Oronix, and if that was what this was about then too bad.
“How did I betray the so-called, gods?” With that, it furled it’s large wings slightly, and looked down at me with a glare.
“You’ve not only become one yourself, but you’ve enslaved one as well!” Its voice sounded tarnished with hatred.
“Oh please, it’s not enslavement, ask him yourself.” I metally called for Oronix, and he came swiftly in a few seconds.
“Neb'ila! What are you doing out of the Divine Realm!?” Oronix shouted in that epic voice of his.
“Oronix, what have they done to you!” He seemed to just be confused at that.
“What do you mean? They’ve not made me do anything I wouldn’t do willingly?” And that made her confused.
“But, why would they forcefully summon you here? And,” she gasped rather audibly, “What did they do to you mana pool!” She burst in an aura of divine mana with a face of pure anger.
“Now, how does me being a god also classify as betrayal?” Even Oronix looked at me funny.
“Lord Ashen, for a mortal to not only have the attribute levels high enough to be considered a god but to worshiped as well, is treason, and has been for a long time.” His voice sounded epic but also surprised as if it were common knowledge, which I wouldn’t know about of course.
“You will either come with us to the Divine Realm for punishment or die here!” the woman, or rather, Neb'ila said, her voice chock full of hatred and anger.
That name rang a bell in my head, but I couldn’t put my name on it, “And what if I choose neither?” She sent a large magical spike of holy mana directly at me, which I absorbed like a champ, only taking a few thousand damage.
“Expect that in more than enough quantity to slay you a thousand times over,” Neb’ila said, which didn’t intimidate me one bit.
At that moment I realized who she was, “Wait a moment, Neb’ila was it?” Oronix confirmed mentally, “So, You’ve forgotten me?” She looked strangely at me for a moment.
“Forgotten? I’ve no clue who you are!” She yelled in anger.
“Oh my, here I thought I was famous.” She looked angry at those words and sent an enormous spike of holy mana at me, which I promptly dodged, causing the ground to burst with vegetation that rapidly spread.
“I’ve had enough of you, Die!” She screamed once more, sending several at me in a row, all dodged until I flew up to her face, eye level.
“Have you forgotten your manners? Dear Neb’ila of the Hooded Claws?” Her face crumpled with fear, as she had not heard that name used in the longest of times.
“H-how…” She asked slowly, fear replacing her anger.
“Oh, simple. I’m from Sugarea as well my dear.” Her eyes seemed to piece a few things together and then she flinched backward a few meters, her arm guarding her face.
“Wait, You’re the Ashen!?” She started backing away ever so slightly.
“The one and only, need proof? I’d happily oblige!” My face would have been sinister if I had one.
“NO! I mean, it is not necessary, it is my mistake for falsely accusing you, please forget this!” She said and tried to go back to the clouds to this ‘Divine Realm’.
“Oh please, why leave so soon? Come, stay awhile.” She stopped before she could leave, and she slowly looked back at me.
“O-o-of, c-course, it would b-be my pleasure to.” She said weakly with a face that showed discomfort but had a smile upon it.
“Oh, don’t worry, the day is coming to an end, and I want to show you some tricks I’ve learned!” My words caused her face to show obvious regret but she did not attempt to flee as of yet.
“I’d be happy to!” She said, faking enthusiasm.
“Wonderful! But what to do, what to do? Oh, I know, Pick a number one through ten, would you?” She shook nervously in the air before responding.
“T-ten?” I would have had a smile so large my face would be covered with it.
“All right, some grand magic is in-store, please wait until it grows darker for the show. Until then, how about we catch up on our past?” I didn’t know her, but I knew of her, and even that was fairly little information.
“Certainly!” She said glad to change subjects.
“Where to start? Oh! When did you arrive here, if I may ask that is?” She seemed to tilt her head in thought.
“I believe around 1700 years ago, give or take a few.” It might be best to take her to a secure location, and as much as I’d love to have her in the castle, I didn’t want another player of opposing guilds to enter my guild base.
“Ah, not too long I suppose. Would you prefer to go somewhere less, exposing?” She seemed glad to, except she was a tad bit too tall for the castle in Wheatberg too, so I didn’t know what to do.
“Of course, I can go into a human-size if we were to go into a building.” How convenient.
“Then you can do so and we can go to one of my towns.” Her interest seemed piqued and she shrunk to human size in a flash of light.
“One?” Well, the ones in the demon lands were still under construction, but no need to tell her that.
“Well yes, and it is my first, it shouldn’t take very long to get there from here by flight. We could also teleport if you wish.” She seemed to like the last option the most.
“Yes, I think we should teleport, don’t want to attract attention from the mortals again.” She sounded like it was a regular occurrence, which made her sound clumsy at best and downright stupid at worst.
Because I wanted to just ‘show’ some of my magic to her, I didn’t silent cast the teleport spell, and she watched as a spell circle more complex than tier 23 spells was formed under us both, and we were gone in a flash. Now inside the Lord’s office in the castle, I took my seat as she looked around in amazement. I guess instant teleportation was impressive to someone that hasn’t seen the spell before, especially if they were a player from Sugarea.
“I knew you were The Magic God but this is a different level…” She said while glancing around the decorated room and small bookshelf, which I’ve yet to read the books on.
“Please, a little tweaking in a spell’s runic formula is nothing when you’ve got all the time in the world, and if you're now in a new world.” She looked at me when I said the last part.
“Speaking of, when did you get here? And how long did it take you to change the runic formula?” I believe it has been a month? Governing the city has taken the majority of my time, even with the help I got.
“Oh, say a month or so ago, and the teleport change was done in say, a few seconds. Testing it was rather hard due to being fairly new to the land around me.” She seemed relieved that I only came a month ago.
“So you wanted to ‘catch up on our past’ right? What have you been doing since the game updated on its tenth anniversary?” Wait, I came here when it happened, does that mean?
“When it updated I came here, how about you?” At least my surprise wasn’t alone, as she too was shocked at the revelation.
“Well, I came here as soon as it updated too, but how come there was a 1700 year gap?” I wonder if the Puppet Master knew anything about this.
“Hey, do you know someone by the name, the Puppet Master by any chance?” Her eyes lit up as if it were supposed to be a secret.
“How do you know her!” She slammed her hands on the desk.
“Calm down my dear, she called me to her, I merely talked to her. It is not something to get upset over is it?” She tried to calm herself, but she still seemed a little angry at the fact, she just needed to think about it logically.
“You’re right, there is no way she would have said anything bad, not to you at least. Anyway, what have you done since you’ve come to the planet?” A fair amount, but I’ll let her be the judge of that.
“If I remember correctly, I conquered the demon lands, Wheatberg, Summoned Or-” She cut me off while screaming.
“You conquered the demon lands!?” There she goes screaming again.
“Yes, and now I’m having it rebuilt so they can live in towns, got a problem? Take a number.” She sat down furiously in one of the two chairs opposing me.
“And what did you do with the demons?” Wait, she was a goddess, right? How come she didn’t know?
“The vast majority are still there constructing homes and eventually a brand new kingdom. What? Did you think I would just kill them all? I do have a logically thinking, whatever, you know?” She seemed confused at my words, so I pointed to the skull and it clicked in her head.
“O-oh, well, I just figured you, as a demon, and no offense would have had them attack and conquer the neighboring lands. Sorry for thinking such things about you.” She bowed her head to me, which is strange because she was a so-called goddess after all, and a player nonetheless.
“You wouldn’t be the first to think such things of me.” She frowned when I said that, which I didn’t understand, it wasn’t a bad thing as it would be accurate if I were any other demon.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you.” What? Did I seem upset?
“Oh please, I couldn't be, mostly because something like that couldn’t get me upset and I can’t feel any emotions in this body.” She frowned deeper, which wasn’t needed, as I just said I didn’t feel bad about it.
“I’m so sorry I didn't-” I cut her off.
“I said It was fine, forget about it. Now, shall we continue?” She went on to just talk about what we both did when we came here.
She became a goddess along with nearly a hundred others, each covering a different area that they ‘rule’ over. She was supposed to be in charge of utility magic, such as teleportation. She was also one of the three gods that would regularly contact people on the planet, hence why she was the first one of them to contact me, except for Oronix of course. The night grew closer and the time for magic so great it would forever re-shape the world was about to happen…
