Chapter 0
== Prologue ==
The year was 1064 Altran Year and now marked the day where the count reached the 265th years of the Demon Lord Narnegill’s reign in Altra Vita.
Altra Vita was a huge continent filled with many races: humans, elves, beastmen, izmath ( a race of intelligent lizards), vampires, demons and other fantasy creatures. As is natural with sentient beings, they begin to create individual civilizations, with their own unique customs and laws.
The ‘Holy’ creatures such as humans, elves, beastmen and izmath claimed the most fertile land, and built their kingdoms in the southern part of Altra Vita, leaving the other side—the ‘Darkness’ races such as vampires and demons—stuck in the northern part, which was famous for its fierce monsters, doomed to die.
However, the dark races were not annihilated. Instead, they thrived, which worried southern kingdoms greatly. Afraid that they might try and invade, the southerners unites to launch a surprise attack on a nearby vampire kingdom, triggering a long war between light and dark.
This war alarmed the other northern kingdoms. Seeds of distrust began to grow and quickly gave birth to another war between northern kingdoms. This northern war lasted from 679 until early 778, where an unknown player from the devil race, Narnegill, rose to unite the dark races under his command.

It was indeed a bloody way. Along the path to becoming an emperor, he had killed many, including the king of the devil kingdom and forced the royal family to relinquish power to him. With the devil kingdom as his headquarters, he began conquering neighboring kingdoms with unbelievable power.
With him as the emperor, there was no more war inside the northern part of Altra Vita. However, Narnegill’s cruelty and greed extended not only inside his empire but also outside. With the force of darkness, he destroyed everything to dust. Finally came the day where everyone was afraid to mention his name and where he was called Demon Lord.
However, his long reign of terror and destruction became his downfall, because the son of the devil king he had murdered before took a surprising number of soldiers with him and marched towards the castle he once called home. This coup d’état happened in 1043.
Narnegill lost his life, along with some of his minions. The prince soon was proclaimed emperor inside a half-destroyed kingdom. It took him three years to rebuild what had been lost, hunting and wiping Narnegill’s minions and restoring order within the empire.
Knowing what Narnegill had done to the southern kingdoms, the prince ordered his men to build a tall wall, separating the empire from outside, to prevent even more useless bloodshed. And also to prevent any information from coming out from within the empire.
He didn’t reveal his name to the public, knowing that some didn’t even care about it. To them, a bloody and sinful emperor like him was just another Narnegill, no matter if the new emperor had saved them all. However, some adored him and even worshiped him. They hailed him as a hero.
Meanwhile, the new emperor just waited. Waited patiently for time to pass.
Waited patiently to cool down the heat.
Over time, the people outside of the border learned about Narnegill’s defeat and they rejoiced. No more useless wars and bloodshed.
Truly, this was a time of peace.
...which would soon end.
