Betrayed hero
In my final hour

In my final hour

She gurgled, blood pouring out of her mouth as she tried to breath. Collapsing to one knee as her body was riddled with more poisoned arrows and spears. She spit out more blood while glaring at her assailants.

“You… cough… You filthy bastards! After all… After all I’ve done for you, for your people!” Blood sprayed from her lips with each word. “This is how you act?!” she gazed past the soldiers wielding swords and spears. Passed the bastard who called himself king. Passed the sneering mages. Her gaze went to the people in the square below. The people for whom she had bled. For whom she had left behind a loving family, an amazing husband, and two beautiful children. Who… were doing nothing to stop this atrocity. They just watched. Some in apathy, some in disgust, but most… like they were watching a fucking show. Sheer hatred welled up from inside of her. If they thought they could get away with this betrayal, after all she had done for them… NO.

She straightened from her slump, blinding rage pushing her on.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“People of Shana!”

She bellowed; her voice heard by more than just the people in the city.

‘Hear my voice and know your fate!”

A soldier tried to stab her but couldn’t come within a meter of her.

“May your homes crumble”

A mage launched a fireball at her, but it vanished before it could reach her.

“May your walls fall”

The king was yelling at his minions like a possessed man.

“May hordes of monsters devour your family”

More attacks vanished or failed to connect, a circle of soft white light surrounding her.

“May your crops rot in their fields”

The people in the square were looking on in horror.

“May your beast fall to disease”

The king and mages were panicking now.

“May your children grow weak”

Thy too, could only watch in horror.

“And in the end. Know that you brought this fate upon yourself by your treachery! So I, [Hero of Shana], [Slayer of the Demon Lord] decree.”

With her final breath, she muttered one last thing.

“May the Gods have mercy on your soul, for I have none.”
