12 A Big Bad and a new little friend

Big bad and mad was what he wanted and big bad and mad was what he was going to find. The Airs of Chaos certainly had a lot more of an effect than the scent had. As he ran he could feel the ground becoming less stable, the grass both dying and also growing quicker, and most peculiar he could feel the air change it became hot then switched to a cold breeze right as the grass went from dying to coming back stronger and also mutated sometimes with flowers out of nowhere or being replaced by fungi or tiny saplings. It was as if he was replacing the area around him with what it could be, not what it was.

Caspian looked around noticing the edge of where his little re-roll of reality.

“haha gotta use that to disguise this away maybe I can say I have time or I don't know probability affinity maybe I can say I have some reality specialty so they're wary but don't think I'm”

The ground cratered around him which then exploded into a cloud of sand as he kept energy flowing through his legs while taking a step forward.

“Alright maybe not good to move with the mountain legs going full blast I'm gonna dig myself into a hole”

As the sand swirled through the air Caspian spotted something…. Intriguing. The sand and his new green wispy air did not move the same. The mist seemed almost attracted to the sand but only for a moment or two like the sand was momentarily magnetic. The mist seemed to love his legs though and as he moved energy elsewhere in his body the mist outside mirrored it at a delay. Stepping forward the mist stayed somewhat stationary seeming to like sticking closer to his impromptu hole than the flat ground in front of him.

“Weird” Caspian muttered to himself.

Caspian set off for the big bad he needed and he saw just where to go. About 500 feet away there was a depression in the ground that from here seemed to lead to some type of cave maybe a tunnel Caspian hoped it wasn't inhabited by anything… sentient. He wanted a fight he could go all out in.

Caspian dropped into a low stance as energy materialized around him his legs growing more solid his gauntlets forming into shifting masses of metal and spikes with deep green mist pouring between the gaps dissolving into the thickened cloud of green mist around him. The stone of the cave he now stood in sprouted small fungi or dried into chipped stone dust. He heard something ahead and shouted forth drawing it to him. He wasn't gonna come into its trap. A shadow whipped around the walls of the cave and from above came talons the size of simitars and likely far sharper thought Caspian suddenly they began to glow with a silver light Caspian watched all his aire of chaos mist seem to be sucked towards the talons as one gripped his arm and the other went for his head. He was able to duck the one talon but found his arm completely missing.

He dove backwards putting all his available energy towards trying to heal. As he did he realized he still had his hands … both hands but only one arm. His right arm ended after the shoulder but still had his right hand floating there in the form of a gauntlet still moving as if there was an arm there but with nothing physically connecting it.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what the ever living fridge your blerping kidding me” screamed Caspian.

His instincts suddenly flipped on him that another attack was coming though much further off it felt more like when the news sends out a winter storm warning not a big danger but the possibility for one and a direction. A DIRECTION. Before his primal instincts had let him know of danger just before impact but now they were catching on to something else.

He saw it. The aire of chaos bent and swirled in the direction his instincts pointed was it possible both skills could synergize like this but what were they … another talon attack came straight at him as the aires once again surged forth towards the oncoming energy spike.

“Fight now discover cool new abilities later”

Caspian ducked to the side as the talon passed inches from his head. Then came another talon swiveling on the foot of the … eagle? Owl? Suddenly the blade he had ducked was just changing direction. Dodging the other way Caspian once again was able to feel the movement even when he couldn't see it. He could feel it like he had thin hairs in the air and could feel the air move through them a shiver running over his shoulder where the talon was heading.

“Veeeery niiice got me spid... Chaos sense .. Chao-to-sense … entro-piphany ?”

Caspian felt himself get flung through the air by the strong and precise strike of the owl's beak, definitely an owl. As he flipped and spun over the ground ending with a loud slam against a nearby wall Caspian contemplated his priorities.

“Yeah magic superpowers won't work if you do not pay attention do they … a good lesson”

Caspian focused back on concentrating energy to resummon his gauntlets and readied for the next attack. The owl came tearing in talons outstretched rather than attempting to punch as usual Caspian planted his legs and grabbed the ankles of the beast as it reached him pouring as much chaos energy into it as possible. The owl for strange and no understandable reason did not like that Caspian had done this screeching in pain and flailing its legs and wings rapidly. Rocks were kicked up flying through the airs around Caspian as they shifted from stone to sand to glass to crystal then crumbled against others or the walls nearby. Yanking down with his physical arm pulled the bird towards him as he flung his floating ghost arm gauntlet up into the beast. Though he did successfully blow a large hole into the feathery exterior however the bird simply pulled its mangled leg from his grasp spun in the air and kicked him with a monster kick to the side. A move like this should have shot him through the wall and into the next chamber but instead seemed to collide with a wall of their own. That was till the full sphere of matter around Caspian was simply dislodged from the ground and flipped on him.

“Well that's not good, didn't actually know that could happen”

Though Caspian's legs had stayed firmly planted and the ground had stayed stuck firm to him not budging the amount of force had disconnected that ground from the surrounding area throwing him and a sizable chunk of stone careening towards the wall. Caspian jumped pulling power from his legs before landing against the wall planted his feet and attempted to stop his motion. He succeeded only to have the stone he jumped from collide with his outstretched fist raining down or sideways against the wall. Sick superhero pose thought Caspain though it was getting weirder and weirder his arm still hadn't healed. Could he not heal this kind of thing? That would suck if it is true.

Caspian felt his airs tip off on the coming attack and he readied himself firing himself into it with both fists fully charged and even overflowing chaos energy. Punching over and over time felt as if it slowed as flesh melted around him bone turned to dust flesh to mush and a very large owl into a crimson-stained pile of feathers and a too-shiny golden beak seeming like it had been placed on top of the dead beast rather then having been a part of it. Focusing on it Caspain felt the ding in his head.

Caspain had forgotten all about his little tribute ability scrolling back he found though he had certainly gained favor with The Earth Mother, The Primal Beast, and just recently The One Who Watches he hadn't gotten any gifts or stat boosts or anything.

“Probably gotta do something hard to get the good stuff if people kept offering me dead earthworms and a few slimes I wouldn’t dish out the good stuff either.

“Is that why I can't grow a new arm? Really? So I drop items too also if I die my items are The Fallen Juggernaut pretty punk rock”

Accepting the prompt he watched the gold beak fade from existence along with a dull glow which was reflected from behind a rock further back where the fight had originally occurred and a small head popped up to look at him.

“No way that's my familiar … suppose it makes sense though well lil guy gotta give you a name you sure look like a fun guy but I have never been good at this so as of now you are … Steve”

A little wave of appreciation and acceptance puffed off Steve’s head. When it reached the wall however something interesting happened. The wall melted somewhat seeming to be consumed by a spreading contagion.
