〘You have escaped
Ha! I’m free!
Hmm……but what’s this?
My arms…seem to be fading….
No! Why?
〘Initiating Transfer〙
〘Destination: The Orc Lair〙
Whhaat? Where? Why?
My eyes started getting fuzzy,
I’m going to be teleported somewhere dangerous, aren’t I? This sucks! I feel like a lab rat!
Curse the system! And curse my father, who controls the system! Hope he rots in hell. Oh wait…he lives in hell. Curse him nonetheless!
〧〧〧
As expected…I find myself in a dark place. The ground seems to be made of hard stone. And the high ceiling appears to be supported by colossal pillars.
Alleyway?
The destination the screen showed was ‘The Orc Lair.’
I tell you, a fragile and insecure skeleton like me doesn’t belong in a place named ‘The Orc Lair.’
I sigh and stand up as I wait for the notification.
〘Name: Rue〙〘X〙
〘Location: The Orc Lair〙
〘Task: Save the Lord〙
There it is.
Rescue….but what if I don’t?
Moving on! I ignore the screen and start to explore this new so-called destination with a great plan—I see an Orc, I run.
The alleyway spread broad, hushed, and grimed. The place gave off vibes of a hunted place. I crept through the pillars, looking for the exit or anything useful.
Clank! Clank!
The sound of metal echoed throughout the room.
Shit….
I hurriedly hid behind a pillar.
“At dawn, we shall begin”
“As you wish, my liege.”
Their low husky voice and the rustling of their heavy metal armor caused me to think—Shit! I am doomed.
Not to mention how the entire ground shook vigorously due to their footsteps.
I slightly peeked and saw a horde of broad, flat-nosed, muscular, green-skinned Orcs with wide mouths and slant eyes. Each of them donned, on heavy black armor, with horned helms while carrying various weapons, including heavy axes, long swords, clubs, etc.
Seeing all that, *Ahem* didn’t cause my legs to tremble at all. Lucky, no one seems to have noticed me yet.
At the end of the alleyway, one of the great orcs opened a colossal gate inscribed with runes.
The Orc turned back and stomped his great hammer at the ground. The vibrations spread through the floor and passed along my bones. It made my body shiver.
Pff, showoff!
“Hu”
“Hu, hu, hu.”
All of the other orcs also started stomping their weapon on the ground and shouted.
Such meaningless clamoring! Just leave so I could take a breath of relief.
“Tomorrow,” The Great Orc lifted his hammer. “We march for the revelation!”
“For the Revelation!”
“For the Revelation!”
The other orcs reciprocated.
“For the Revelation,” I murmured. Wait, I’m not with them.

…
I sigh in exultation as I see the Orc start to march past the gate.
Clank! Clank!
Hmm, I noticed the Orcs in the rearmost all held on and pulled heavy black chains. The blacks chains dragged a giant rectangular cuboid-like structure.
A cage?
I could not see what was inside the cage since a piece of cloth shrouded it. But the cries coming from inside the cell made it pretty easy to imagine what was inside.
After a while, they all marched past the gate and closed it.
….
Phew ~ they all finally left.
Operation stealth! Successful!
But….Revelation…and the Orc lair….that sounds familiar.
hmm….hmmm…Ah, I remember,
Around 100 years ago, all of the 12 Demon Lords were granted their own territory and servants to manage. But there was an incompetent demon lord who didn’t even realize he’d his own territory and servants. His servants without a lord begot their own lord, which led to the Great Orc Revelation. And yes—I was that incompetent demon lord.
Ah, those terrible days….but didn’t the Orcs go extinct after the incident?
…wait..save the lord…
Task Expand!
〧〧〧
〘Task: Save the Lord〙
The Demon Lord Rue has failed to govern his servants.
The Orc, Kegulg, has taken charge of the Demon Lord’s territory.
Tomorrow they march towards the City of Vroria, leading to a massacre of 10 million humans.
Ten people survive that massacre and awaken as hunters, and later go on to become heroes. The heroes then seek vengeance for their hometown and slay the Lord
To fulfill the task, you may satisfy one of these quests:
〚Quest: Kill the survivors before they become heroes〛
〚Quest: Stop the Great Orc Revelation〛
----------------------------------------
Shit!
Demon Lord Rue.. that’s me, so I’m alive?
Also, seek vengeance? What nonsense! I wasn’t the one who started the Revelation. I didn’t even know they were under me…….ah now I see why they would blame me.
But wait….in the task, save the lord, I’m the lord. So, if I complete one of the quests, I can prevent my death? And if I don’t die, I don’t turn into a skeleton?
I..can…have..my..heavenly..life..back?
Crack!
Oops, I punched the pillar in excitement.
Creak!
Shit. Why is the door reopening?
Three orcs emerged through the gate.
“The council is about to start,” said one Orc.
“We should leave,” said another.
Sniff!
“I smelled something,” The Orc with the battle-ax turned its head. “I still do.”
Welp, time to run!
The alleyway led to the gate from one end. As for the other end, have no clue where that leads, but it seems less risky than trying to take on three giants.
I bravely clench my bones and bolt towards the other end.
“A skeleton!”
“Kill It!”
I can sense the orcs in my trail.
Ha! Fight them? ~ those giants look to be at least 12 feet. In comparison, how tall am I? 5 feet? Yeah….no.
And things were going as planned. I could see the bright light emitting from the other end.
Maybe it leads to a forest?!
But my hope shattered as I saw a silhouette blocking the other end—the silhouette of an orc.
Shit…
I could not immediately stop because of my pace. But when I did stop, I stopped right in front of the giant Orc.
“What’s this? A skeleton”
Hell..o?
I regretted every moment of my life, as I saw the Orc’s, bigger than my skull, fist marching towards my, smaller than its fist, skull.
Bam!
Crackle!
Crackle!
Owww…….
The pain from the punch was unreal, but the pain that followed when my bones broke two pillars and penetrated a wall midway—that was some next-level experience.
“Ah, I was told not to damage the hall.”
Really? That shitty giant. Not to damage the hall? What about not damaging fragile little skeletons?
Also, now what?
Wait…I don’t breathe. I don’t have a pulse.. a new plan: I pretend to be dead. Surely, they won’t go out of their way to bury me.
Ok, let’s stay curled up in this hole and not move a muscle.
Clank!
I can feel the Orc getting closer…….
Clank!
and getting closer…….
Clank!
I now feel the Orc glaring at me.
please ignore….
Grip!
I again re-regret my life choices as I see the Orc clenching its fist.
Father! Mother! If I die, I want you to know. You were the shittest parents ever. And curse you!
Bam!Bam!Bam!Bam!
“Why won’t it break?” cried the Orc.
Wait…
wait…
my skill…..
how could I have forgotten?
My bones cannot be broken……..Ha! Ha! Ha!
Bam!Bam!Bam!Bam!Bam!Bam!
Just stop with the barrage of punches! I still feel pain, and it hurts, you shitty giant.
