Chapter 12

[Pain Nullification : Render yourself impervious to the sensation of pain.

[Flesh Manipulation : This talent grants you control over the flesh of both living and deceased bodies.]

[Center of Chaos.: Activate this skill to generate an invisible field around yourself. Enemies with no more than a cultivation layer higher than yours will experience a disorienting sense of chaos in direction, smell, qi, etc.]

[Shapeshifting : Utilize this skill to morph your body into any desired form, whether it be that of a woman, child, or an old man. Only someone stronger than Nyarlathotep can penetrate your disguise.]

[Unpredictable Aura : A passive skill that makes it challenging for others to foresee your actions. You will emanate an aura of unpredictability in the eyes of those around you.]

The skills he acquired this time were exceptionally unique. Abilities like *Pain Nullification* and *Flesh Manipulation* significantly elevated his combat prowess, while *Shapeshifting* and *Center of Chaos* bolstered his survivability. Although *Unpredictable Aura* might not appear overtly potent, it bestowed upon him a demeanor that prompted others to reconsider before offending him, and he could also shield his cultivation level accordingly.

"Hey, hey! Why aren't you replying to me? :(" came a sound resembling that of a little child from his mind. If one were to hear it, they might think of a child being upset about being ignored. However, knowing the source, Su Chen refrained from thinking in such a simplistic manner.

*'Could you be the real Nyarlathotep or just one of his clones?'* Su Chen asked mentally, expressing a degree of doubt.

"Hehe, who knows? You can take me to be the real Nyar, and I won't mind."

After providing an answer, Nyarlathotep disregarded Su Chen and opted to explore the environment around him.

Using his formidable spiritual power, he swiftly discerned the nature of the world he found himself in. Even though he was merely a fragment of the genuine Nyarlathotep, he possessed enough strength to potentially dismantle the very fabric of the world he was currently in.

While Nyarlathotep harbored a desire to roam in this new world, forge new connections (or, as he saw it, play with his toys), and engage in various games with its inhabitants (manipulating their destinies), he found himself restrained. Some form of supreme force bound his abilities, preventing him from wielding the full extent of his power and hindering any attempt to control or even harm this human.

Stolen story; please report.

Contemplating this circumstance, Nyarlathotep found it even more intriguing. Although he appeared to be the weakest among the three pillar gods, as a being directly born from Father God Azathoth, he had never engaged in a serious battle. The power he wielded encapsulated concepts such as lies, deceit, chaos, error, madness, and more. It never occurred to him to earnestly fight anyone; even the tearing of his flesh during the encounter with Bastet was a result of his own actions, adding an element of amusement to the confrontation.

After consolidating his realm, Su Chen exited his room. Instructing Xiaohei to cease monitoring, he ventured outside.

'Hehe, what an interesting creature, with a scent reminiding me of the Old Ones,'Nyarlathotep remarked, then fell silent.

'*'Well, whatever,'* Su Chen thought, dismissing Nyarlathotep's behavior. Recognizing that he had to coexist with him for an indefinite period, he resolved to develop the skill of ignoring the chaotic entity.

Stepping outside, Su Chen decided to visit the sect's mission hall to find a suitable mission which will help him in testing his newfound power after breaking through and experimenting with his new skills.

Approaching the mission hall, he headed to the mission board. Scanning through the available missions, he opted for one that involved a mortal kingdom under the Taiyi sect, seeking assistance due to frequent killings in the capital.

Accepting the mission, he left the sect and traveled a considerable distance. Once sufficiently far from the sect, he utilized his Flesh Manipulation and blood manipulation to create bat-like wings composed of flesh and blood behind his back.

Gazing at these wings, Su Chen found himself fascinated by his newfound abilities. With increased familiarity in his abilities, he realized he create and even modify various monsters reminiscent of those in his previous life with just a mere thought given that he had enough power.

Setting aside these intriguing thoughts, he acknowledged that, despite resembling a demon from his previous life, he would not be out of tune in this world as there were numerous skills in this world enabling individuals to manifest wings, whether they were composed of energy or flesh and blood.

Testing his new wings, he swiftly mastered them, achieving proficiency within a minute of flying. While he acknowledged that practice would further enhance his skills, the rapid mastery of these abilities made it feel like a dream to him.

"You really don't think that absorbing my flesh will only grant you some abilities?" Nyar's voice echoed in Su Chen's mind.

While Su Chen wasn't surprised that Nyar knew the origins of his newfound abilities, Nyar's mention of potential effects on his body intrigued him.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well, literally, I've existed for who knows how long, and every part of my body contains a portion of my power. Absorbing some of it has enhanced your comprehension ability to surpass any known human or even higher-level races renowned for their intellect."

Su Chen was thrilled to discover this unexpected benefit. Beyond innate talent, an individual's comprehension ability often played a crucial role in determining their success in cultivation. This phenomenon was evident in numerous cases, where individuals with ordinary qualifications but exceptional comprehension managed to surpass others with higher qualifications.

Continuing his journey, Su Chen intended to inquire further about the other aspects of Nyar's influence. However, he received no response, indicating Nyar's disinterest in addressing his queries.

About an hour away from the country according to the map, Su Chen heard the sounds of battle in the distance. Intrigued, he decided to investigate.

Flying above the conflict, he used his passive aura of unpredictability to remain unnoticed by the fighting parties.
