Déjà vu

It was her chaos that made her beautiful. ” ― Atticus

Honey

I was sitting In a towel on my bed relaxing before I got ready and trying unsuccessfully not to think about the man who came into my bakery sighing I flopped backwards on the bed and let my head dangle over the edge of the bed my calico cat Evelyn came into my room with eyes as green as emeralds, her fur a patchwork quilt of white, orange, and black when she saw me she ran over and started licking my face laughing I sat up she jumped up on my bed following me I scratched her behind her ear .

“How was your day?” I asked her she meowed back at me before curling up on her favorite pillow and falling asleep she made me want to join her but I had plans I couldn’t cancel and I had tomorrow and Sunday off I would be able to sleep in and relax I was looking forward to my uninterrupted sleep until then getting up I tossed my towel in the hamper before going into my walk-in closet and pursuing my choices hmm I wanted simple, sexy and comfortable a tall order but I could manage I decided on a black dress with a form-fitting silhouette, plunging neckline, with a side slit it said sophisticated and alluring. I left my hair down it my thick curls haloed my head and around my face I added some gold eye shadow and black eyeliner giving me an exotic look I grabbed my purse and a few other things I might need for the evening before I slipped on my gold stilettos and headed out the door I only paused long enough to lock it behind me before I headed to the elevator, I rode it to the lobby before stepping outside into the warm June air where my driver Roberto was waiting for me for the evening waited by a black Lexus . His smooth mocha skin gleamed under the street lamp he wore his curly black close-cropped he had cut it since I’d last seen him he was impeccably dressed as usual in a black suit and tie, his posture erect, his expression calm and professional.

“Good evening Ms. Honey, how are you feeling this evening?” he asked as he opened the back door for me.

“I’m well, thank you how are you and your family doing?’ I asked getting inside he shut my door and got inside before he answered.

“My wife is pregnant again and our son will be starting fourth grade this year” I could hear the happiness ring in every word he truly loved his wife Sofia and his son Philip I loved seeing the love and commitment he had for his family in this world those things seemed so rare which was sad.

“Congratulations! Do you know if it’s a boy or girl?” I would have to get Sophia a gift and Phillip so he didn’t feel left out and because he was so stinking adorable though he preferred to be called handsome of course.

“Grazie, no not yet we won’t know for a few more weeks” I nodded

“I wish your wife and unborn child a healthy pregnancy” I said she was very sweet and she had lost a child before they had tried again and given birth to Phillip it had cut her deep I prayed this was one went smooth and easy for her Roberto looked in the rear view mirror at me and gave me a solemn nod.

“That is most appreciated I will tell Sophia as well” I nodded and settled back in my seat when the light turned green and he continued on the club was about fifteen minutes away I closed my eyes I could use a quick nap before I arrived I was looking forward to tonight despite my tiredness this was one of my ways to distress and unwind after a long week and the owner called me and said I could come on any weekend of my choosing so when I had an opportunity I took it I honestly didn’t have much of a social life I preferred to keep to myself I had a few friends and one really good friend I considered a sister we had been tight since the third grade I wish she could have come out tonight but she was on a mini vacation with her boyfriend until next weekend I would call her tomorrow to check in I thought as I dozed off.

“Soulmates aren’t the ones who make you happiest, no. They’re instead the ones who make you feel the most. Burning edges and scars and stars. Old pangs, captivation and beauty. Strain and shadows and worry and yearning. Sweetness and madness and dreamlike surrender. They hurl you into the abyss. They taste like hope.” ― Victoria Erickson

Avion

I sat at the VIP section closet to the stage of my friends club I had dropped by my mom’s and spent some time with her she had been so distracted by the very delicious pastries he had brought she hadn’t brought up her non existent grandchildren instead they had a pleasant visit and caught up on what was going on in one another’s lives at the moment she told him she and his papa were thinking of taking a trip soon since he would be stepping down as CEO he would have lots of time now and they wanted to enjoy it together I was very happy to hear this I knew my papa loved my Mama dearly and all his hard work had been for his family and future and he had done very well he deserved to enjoy his hard work and success with the women he loved they both deserved this. Other that that she raved about bow good the pastries were he brought here and that he simply must go back for more for her soon he had been ecstatic he would be able to go back without feeling like a stalker or a creep he was sure many men hell maybe even women as well stopped by for more than her delicious goodies he was looking forward to stopping back in to see her layer this week . On that happy note he ordered himself some Ron Brugal his favorite rum he knew his friend stocked this specifically for him which he appreciated. Sitting back he enjoyed his drink as he looked around this place had been open a year and was doing well it wasn’t a huge club it was more of a lounge the smoky air was thick with the sweet aroma of cigars and the rhythmic pulse of a saxophone. The dim, amber lights cast long shadows on the velvet-upholstered booths, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. A small crowd was gathered around the stage, their faces illuminated by the spotlight as the band, a trio of seasoned musicians, was lost in the music, their playing filled with soulful improvisation and raw emotion. As the music reached its crescendo, the crowd erupted in applause, their energy feeding back into the band, driving them to even greater heights.

“Enjoying yourself?” someone asked I looked over as my good friend Allister walking over dressed in a blue long sleeved silk shirt that matched his eyes, black slacks and shoes his black hair was combed back away from his face setting off his pale skin even more he didn’t have the unhealthy pale skin it was more like smooth unblemished porcelain he noticed many women and a few men watched him as he approached.

“I am especially my drink” he said once he was closer he stood to embrace his friend they had a quick hug before they both sat back down.

“Excellent I’m glad you could make it, it’s been too long since we’ve caught up” Allister said he waved the bartender over he ordered the same as him when he handed him his cup he held it up I held my glass up as well we toasted before we sat and enjoyed the music and our liquor.

“ Yes it has been a while honestly it’s been a while since I’ve done anything besides work” which was true he worked and went home other than seeing his family for dinners or simply to visit he didn’t do much else he gave work his full attention he wanted to do right by and take care of the legacy his father had worked so hard to achieve while he also paved his own way as he had done but something else important he had learned from his father family came first his father had never put work above him or his mother ever he always made time and that made him love and respect him even more as a man, a father and a husband.

“So this new singer I hired not only does she sound fucking amazing she’s drip dead gorgeous with a brain and sweet as can be, but definitely doesn’t shit some piece of shir tried to get rough with her before security could even intervene she dropped him right on his ass I was both scared and aroused” Allister put a hand over his heart and moaned “She’s something else” Avion couldn’t help but laugh at his dramatics over this women he made him more curious to meet her now.

“Now I really want to meet this women” He told him holding his empty glass up for a refill the bartender scurried over to fill his glass she turned to Allister to see of he needed a refill as well but his eyes weren’t on her he was looking past them both he smiled and held a hand up and waved.

“Good because the lady of the hour is here” I turned in my seat to see who she was and froze no way he couldn’t believe his fucking luck it was her! The women from the bakery and Maldita sea (God damn) she looked drop dead unbelievably fucking stunning as she crossed the room, her every step seemed to ripple through the air, leaving a trail of captivated hearts in her wake. Her beauty was a radiant force, a dazzling blend of grace and allure, her eyes, like pools of molten chocolate, held a mesmerizing depth that seemed to draw you in, her smile was playful and mischievous as it lit up the room with a warmth that was both inviting and intoxicating, and as she moved, her body seemed to glide effortlessly, each movement a silent symphony of elegance and grace. His breath quickened as he watched her, his eyes tracing the curves of her body with a burning intensity and deep wanting need A surge of desire coursed through him, igniting a fire deep within.. His heart pounded in his chest, and his fists clenched as he struggled to control the growing arousal that threatened to overwhelm him at the very sight of her she was a goddess and this goddess was going to be his she already was she just didn’t know it yet.

“The way her body existed only where he touched her. The rest of her was smoke.” – The God Of Small Things by Arundhati

Honey

When I arrived at the Velvet Lounge I couldn’t believe my fucking eyes as I made my way across the room to Allister the man sitting in front of him turned and met my gaze it was the man from earlier at my bakery what were the odd and mmm he looked good. His crisp white button-up shirt was tailored to perfection, accentuating his broad shoulders and lean muscled physique. The sleeves were rolled up to his forearms, revealing strong, tanned skin, paired with sleek, dark slacks, he exuded an air of sophistication and confidence. His posture was relaxed and casual, and his gaze held a smoldering intensity that was both alluring and intimidating. I was intrigued by his confident demeanor and magnetic charm, yet his arrogance and self-assuredness left me feeling both frustrated and turned on. I couldn’t deny the undeniable pull of his presence, but she couldn’t help but feel a surge of disbelief at the way he made her feel.
