Hell. That was the word he could describe as he watched two powerful beings clash in the sky.
Their attacks leaving destruction below them, as fire of all kinds of color spread on the ground, consuming trees and any unfortunate animals in the way.
Fortunately for him, he was hiding somewhere far, but close enough to see the two people fighting in the sky.
"Oh, Clint. When will you ever give up?" The man in golden robes and glowing face said.
"When I kill you!" A beam of light shot from his palm, as the golden robed man merely dodged to the side as he grinned, "I hate you!"
"Oh I know you do," he teleported further away as another beam attempted to slice him, "but perhaps we can talk this out, no need for bloodshed, Clint."
"Talk? TALK?" Clint's whole body began to glow in a golden color similar to his enemy's robes, "you dare speak of such civility when you killed wife and child? YOU ASSHOLE!"
Clint launched from his position as a guest of wind blew the trees away, the man hiding in the bush ducked down as a branch flew over his head.
The golden robed man only grinned, instantly punching Clint's chin as he tried to tackle him mid air. Clint flew back a little, trying to regain balance as his head spun.
"Oh no you don't!" The golden robed man said, quickly flying to his side and sending him a strong punch in the gut as he crashed on the ground, "Wake up, Clint. Those were npc's, NOT REAL PEOPLE!"
He floated down, the crater left from his crash was deep, as Clint all bloodied, his nose bleeding and face inflamed, spat on his robes.
It did so little to annoy him as he only rolled his eyes.
"Clint, I've respected you. But after seeing you talk to that..." His expression is almost vomiting, "... Those things. Npc's—"
"Their not just NPC's, Harin! Their people too!" He groaned, sitting up straight. His strength already so low as he spent most of his mana and power long ago.
"People? Them? Oh no. They're far from being people. Let alone having a mind. Why do you even bother, it's all pre generated dialogues or Ai. Did you seriously think they matter?" He kneeled down to his level, looking into his eyes for any seriousness.
It was crazy to think his only friend had actually left them for a bunch of codes and images. This was just too confusing for him.
And he lost all his respect for him the moment he said those words.
"Their more than just Ai, Harin."
Harin closed his eyes, hoping he did not hear those words come from him. Hoping everything was fake and this was all a dream, that he'd snap out of his delusions and finally come back to their guild.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
But when he opened his eyes, he was only met with eyes so far from being the Clint he knew. It was over.
He actually believed Ai's had souls.
He only signed.
"Well, I tried."
He was about to fly and blast him with fire magic that would burn his soul core, and hopefully restart back to start to finally see things the way they are.
But then, he realized he made one mistake.
"I'm sorry, Harin." He said, his body begins to glow brightly and bright as seconds pass.
Harin's eyes widened with fear, as he tried to move, but he couldn't. He was frozen.
"What are you doing?! Are you self destructing! NO, YOU'RE GOING TO RESET US BOTH!" He yelled, mustering all his power and strength as their auras clashed like beasts.
A lion and a tiger.
"I hope you'll see it my way, Harin. They have souls."
"NO, NO, NO! YOU'RE A TRAITOR AND A COWARD I WILL NOT FALL FOR YOUR TRICKS!"
The ground beneath him cracked, shaking as birds from far away flew high in the sky, disturbed by something powerful.
The man used a binoculars to see what was happening.
"Goodbye, Harin." Clint said, hugging him one last time.
The man instantly covered his eyes as the flash blinded him for a second. The crater began to glow so bright as it's lights spread everywhere, blinding any creature who'd look at it for more than five seconds.
And then, a waved pushed him back.
'crap' he thought.
A large explosion boomed in the distance, he covered his ears as a wave of transparent energy smashed against his whole body.
The trees and areas were not spared as they leaned back momentarily from the explosion.
He curled on the ground, gritting his teeth as an invisible force tired to push him off, or send him flying.
It lasted for a few seconds as the force disappeared.
"Huh?" He said, using his binoculars as he examined the large crater, it was large this time, and as he moved to see the middle part, his vision was blocked with a black smoke rising in the sky, "dammit, did they kill each other?"
He got up, quickly running towards it without a care in the world as he took off his camp jacket and other heavy equipments.
'i can't lose this opportunity, please be alive, or barely alive!' he thought.
He'd waited for an opportunity like this for a long time, the opportunity to strike down a level 100 player to fulfill the most dangerous and impossible task in all of SCARS.
He almost stumbled on the rocks in the crater as he hurriedly picked his steps on the terrain. He coughed breathing in the smoke, but he could care less.
"Crap crap crap, I can't lose it. This was a one time—" as he searched amidst the dark fog, he heard a faint groan.
A wide grin formed on his face, luck was still on his side and today, his final requirements for this task will be finished.
The once golden robed man, now looked burned smelt of steak and smoke. His face half showing his skull, as the rest of his body was destroyed in the explosion, leaving only the upper part.
His robes barely covered the bones hidden underneath, and as The man looked at his pitiful state he only smiled.
He picked up a big rock on the ground and raised it above his head.
"A-anyone there?" A voice said, it was Harin, though his throat was gone he could still use his telepathic communication skills,"I sense a soul nearby, can you hear me?" His eyes was still closed.
The man narrowed his eyes, should he answer? No, it wasn't worth his time, his friends were probably coming to save him soon.
"Hey- OW!"
The man brought down the rock, smashing on his head as blood splattered and chunks of his flesh stuck on the rock.
Harin only groaned louder, cursing in the process of whoever was trying to kill him. But he couldn't do anything.
"Stop it!"
Another smash in his head, and another as one after another came going down in his head until his skull cracked.
'His skull is so damn thick!' he thought.
"You will pay for this! The Skylanders will hunt you down if you kill me— ARGHH!"
"JUST. DIE. ALREADY!"
As he continued smashing the poor guys ahead with haste, he heard a vague voice coming somewhere from the fog. He stopped. Listening for anyone nearby.
"Harin? Are you alive? Where are you?"
"IM RIGHT HERE, THIS IDIOT IS TRYING TO KILL ME!"
He whipped his head at the still alive corpse on the ground. Oh no, if they kill him now all his efforts will be in vain.
Rising the rock one last time and putting all his strength to it, he brought it down so fast and strong as the rock smashed his head to bits and pieces. Small parts of pink flesh splattered on the ground and blood on his face as he exhaled through his nose.
He did it.
He killed him.
The requirements were fulfilled. All he needed to do was...
"You bastard!" A feminine voice said.
He turned over his shoulder, seeing a beautiful women with a honey colored hair and purple robes, her hand holding a sword that was ominously glowing in purple with her attire.
"You will pay for that!"
She raised her sword and swung in the air, closing in on his neck as he closed his eyes thinking it was over.
The lady only stumbled forward as the man disappeared in thin air. Her sword hitting nothing as she quickly balanced herself.
Whipping her head in every direction trying find where he went. When she couldn't find any sign of him, she quickly knelt to Harin's
side.
"Harin? Are you okay?" She said, but his skull had a big rock in the middle of his face, "dammit, I should've arrived sooner."
