As the group made their way through the streets, they would take cover if they heard anything that sounded close by. They didn’t see any people as they made their way through the streets, whether they were gone or hiding Terry couldn’t say. He was just glad they didn’t run into anything.
At one particular quiet moment as they moved he remembered to ask them about their classes. Whispering quietly, “so what classes did you all pick?”
“I picked Guard.” Izzy was the first to say. “It was my recommend class and I didn’t see any others I liked. It seems to be more of a defensive class but should still help in battle, once I level up some.”
“I took Blacksmith” a big man in the middle of the group said.
“So, you could make us weapons and such…What’s your name?” Terry asked.
“I suppose so, eventually, and Richard.” The man was big, at least six foot four inches. He had salt and pepper hair and brown eyes with a barrel chest.
“That should come in handy. How about the rest of you?”
“I’m an Illusionist.” A balding man with a beer gut said. “And I’m Pope.”
“Thanks, and nifty. I bet you’ll be valuable when you level up.”
“I sure hope so, I want to stick it to these bastards as much as I can.”
“I got enchanter.” A woman with long black hair down to her mid back and brown eyes said. She was about five foot six. “I’m Penelope, by the way.”
“So, you’ll be able to enchant the things Richard makes?”
“I don’t know anything about these classes or anything, it was just the recommended one.”
“Well, I’m fairly familiar with classes and if it’s anything like the games I’ve played, that’s about what you’ll be able to do. At least for starters.”
“Huh, interesting.”
“Well for your information, I’m a seamstress. It’s what I did before all this, so it makes sense that’s what I got.” Sam chimed in, almost too loudly.
“Cool” he said while trying not to sound too sarcastic.
“I’m a fisherman and name’s Robert” a guy wearing flannel and standing about five foot eight with a big brown beard and sun glasses said.
“Lumberjack is mine and Jeremy” a man with glasses and huge biceps said.
“I don’t know why I got fletcher but that was the recommend one” a man with a pony tail and tie-dyed shirt said. “And Dean is my name.”
“Well, you guys could come in handy for a community, especially you Robert.”
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW
The noise made the group stop in their tracks.
“That sounded really close” Sam said as she looked around and Terry could see she was visibly shaking.
“Yeah, it did.” With that he remembered his battle with the goblins and that he hadn’t check to see if he had leveled up. Checking for the envelope in the corner he found it and concentrated on it bringing the messages up.

Opening his abilities menu, he put three points into summon skeleton which leveled it to level two and two into the rest of them, bringing them all up to five ability points. He closed the windows and wished he had time to summon the newly leveled items but didn’t want to risk it in front of the group. “Come on, let’s move before whatever that was decides to come looking for us.” He took off at a jog to get as far away as he could, the group following him.
It hadn’t even been five minutes before the group heard a huge crash from behind them. He turned and about two hundred yards behind them came a giant creature. All he could tell from that distance was that it was big and had horns. “Oh, shit, everyone move!”
He motioned for the group to go ahead of him while he and his skeletons stayed at the back though they still ran as fast as they could without passing the rest of the group.
HOOOWWW
The creature howled again and when he looked back it was much closer, less than a hundred yards. They were never going to make it. “Everyone keep running and try and find a safe place to hide.” He said as he turned and drew his sword, ordering the two skeletons to flank him.
Izzy stopped and turned around moving to join him.
“No, keep them safe, I’ll handle this.”
Izzy nodded and turned back around trailing the group but keeping an eye on Terry and the creature.
He positioned himself between the creature and the group, his heart pounding. He could see the creature better now, it had the head and body of a triceratops, the legs of a wolf and the tail of a scorpion. It looked absolutely deadly. Before the creature got to him though he quickly pulled out a body and cast Summon Bone weapon on it. Quickly picking up his new weapon he swapped his current one for the new one.
Moments after he swapped his swords the beast was upon him, striking with its tail at the spot where he had been. He rolled as the ground exploded from the strike and pelted him with rock. The two skeletons jumped at the beast and started striking it with their weapons while he got up and quickly ran around the side of it. It had its eye on him though and blasted through Skelly with the horns on its head as it rounded on Terry and charged.
The beast sprinted forward and narrowly missed him as he rolled out of the way. He did see that Newbie had jumped up onto the creature and was stabbing down with its sword but it didn’t look like it was doing much, if any, damage. Swearing under his breath he ran at the creatures’ tail and side stepped it as it was brought down. He brought his sword down on the tail and it cut deep but didn’t cut it off. He tried pulling it out but was blasted backwards as the tail smacked him in the chest, his sword coming with him.
Newbie was still on the creatures back stabbing it but it looked like the creature barely noticed it. Getting up he brought his sword up, looking at his health it was down to half. Remembering his abilities, he quickly cast leech life on the beast and watched his health slowly start to replenish. Luckily the ability also slowed the target so he ran forwards and swung his sword at the creatures’ face, hoping to drive it back. It worked and the creature stepped back as he swung his sword again and again.
He had to watch out as the creature swiped at him with its forepaws but with leech life still active, he was able to dodge the attack. He quickly wondered how many skeletons he could have at a time now. As quickly as he could he pulled up his special inventory and dropped four bodies and quickly cast summon skeleton on the first one. Luckily, he could cast and move at the same time, though it took a bit of concentration. As the first skeleton rose up, he ordered it to jump on the creatures back with Newbie.
He took a few more swings at the creature in between casting leech life again and summon skeleton as fast as he could. Before long he had five skeletons climbing over the creature dealing small amounts of damage. With them combined with leech life he was able to slowly whittle its health away as he kept it distracted for them.
By the time the creature was dead he was exhausted and his arms and legs felt heavy like he just got done running a marathon. Which was pretty close to what he had done. With the creature dead he looted it and threw it in his special inventory but before he left, he threw out four more bodies and cast summon bone weapon on them to outfit his new skeletons. He collected the piles of flesh before heading out to catch up to the group. After about ten minutes of jogging he passed by a house that he saw movement in.
“Hey, Terry” Izzy said as she popped her head out the window. “You made it!”
He stopped and jogged over to the house. “I did, it was close but I got it.”
“That’s awesome, I’m glad you came through intact. Geez looks like you have your own little army of skeletons.”
“Well it sure took you long enough, what would we have done if you had gotten yourself killed?
“You would’ve survived, Izzy would’ve taken care of you guys. I just summon them, not sure where they come from though.” Terry said nonchalantly.
“Everyone but her” Izzy whispered to him.
He chuckled, “Well we should get moving, I don’t know if that battle drew anything bigger but I don’t want to find out.”
“Ugh, moving again, can’t we just sit and rest for a bit longer?”
“Sure, go right ahead but I’m not staying.”
“Ugh, fine.”
With that the group moved out of the house and back onto the road. He kept to the front with one skeleton and had two in the back and one on each side of the group. He felt a bit safer with the extra help and with most of them having a better sword helped as well. The next creature to attack them will go down a lot easier.
