Geno stared into her reflection on the cuffs around her hands, her cold glare scared even herself. She felt dead inside, even while being escorted to a cell she felt no real emotion. For months she had felt like she'd lost her spark in life. The once joyful woman had become distant and empty. As she entered her cell she flinched at the thought that maybe the call she'd shared with her wife to inform her of the arrest could have been the last time she'd hear her wife's voice. Geno's wife Zephyr lay in their home, in tears from the news that her love would be in captivity for 15 years. "What could she have done?" Zephyr pleaded with herself, trying to find an answer. Geno had never been a violent type or the kind of person who would cause destruction, so what could have made her snap?
Zephyr stirred thinking about what might happen to Geno. She'd noticed Geno's absence in spirit for the past few months and wondered if her wife had slowly lost her mind. Geno was a musician and prolific on guitar, when she was feeling down she would play her sorrows away, but for a time before her arrest, it seemed as though all of her prowess had been sapped from her. She couldn't hit a single chord nor recite any melody, making her feel more and more empty. Zephyr knew of this but was unable to help, she'd never expected Geno was capable of crime, let alone a 15 year sentence.

As the door locked behind her, Geno took in the interior of the cell. It was bare bones with a sink, toilet, bed, and an old table that looked as though it might break from the slightest pressure. The rusted bars cast a shadow over the room providing an atmosphere of dread. Geno sat on the hard, unforgiving excuse for a mattress, staring blankly at the window above her. The sun's heat peering in didn't phase her, nor did the light in her eyes. She can't entertain herself from within a prison can she? As Geno pondered this concept she came to the conclusion that the only way for her to put the pep back in her step is to free herself from this cage.
