“Father, will you tell me a story?” (???)
“Sure Ragnor, how about the tale of Leorick the Dragonslayer?” (???)
“Yes please, I’ve never heard this of this story before.” (Ragnor)
“Alright, calm down son. Our story begins in the continent of Algeia, the same one we live in today. Leorick was the most powerful knight in the service of his kingdom.” (???)
“Wait father, weren’t you once a knight? I remember a customer once called you Reinault the mighty.” (Ragnor)
“Yes son, I was once a knight, now stop interrupting my story before I decide to not continue.” (Reinault)
“Sorry father.” (Ragnor)
“Good, now where was I? Ah yes, Leorick was the most powerful knight in his kingdom and because of that he and his family were allowed to stay within the king’s castle. His day had begun like every other day, with him training and drilling the new recruits, but today wouldn’t be the same as all of those other days for on this day an incredibly loud roar was heard which shook the castle itself and the spirit of all the knights on duty. Once all of the knights stopped shaking they all ran to the battlements to see what type of monster could create such a roar and once they laid their eyes on the 30-meter large monstrosity all of the knights agreed on what it was… it was a dragon!” (Reinault)
“*gasp* A dragon a real live dragon!?” (Ragnor)
“Yes, now hush. Most of the knights fled once they saw the monstrosity, but Leorick could not for he knew his family was living in the castle with him and they’d never survive if he left with the others; his resolve to fight the dragon was unshakable, for without him fighting it his family would surely perish. Once the dragon landed in front of the castle Leorick chose to engage it for if he waited any longer the castle would surely crumble. His blows against the dragon did little damage, but he continued to fight knowing what would happen if he chose to give up; the dragon however had had enough of this pesky bug poking it and decided it would destroy what it was so desperately trying to protect. With that decision the dragon began charging up its flame breath and Leorick noticed only because he could see the beast’s heart beating faster and stronger to prepare the energy for such a grand attack. Leorick decided then and there that if it meant saving his family’s life then he would gladly sacrifice his own, so he charged and struck with all his might at the dragon’s heart. Leorick’s attack connected and killed the dragon nearly instantly, but when he struck the heart all of the energy it was gathering was released hitting Leorick with the full power of the charged attack; Leorick however was smiling as he died for he knew he had saved his family. That my boy is the tale of Leorick the Dragonslayer.” (Reinault)

“Father, I want to be as strong as Leorick one day… no, I need to be stronger than him.” (Ragnor)
“Why do you need to be so strong, boy?” (Reinault)
“I failed to protect mother when she needed me and she died because I was weak, I can’t lose anyone else because of my weakness, I need to become stronger to protect those I care about.” (Ragnor)
“Fine boy, I’ll begin training you tomorrow at the crack of dawn so you can begin to acquire the strength you need.” (Reinault)
“Thank you father!” (Ragnor)
“Go to sleep, boy.” (Reinault)
‘Hmm, so the boy still blames himself for his mother’s death? While it may not be good for him it will fuel him to grow and endure the suffering acquiring great strength brings with it.’ (Reinault)
