(1) CatDog

Earth year 3857, the war ended between humanity and the machine to join forces to fight a common enemy—The Extraterrestrial Sovereignty, who wanted to take control of the Solar System's resources. The citizen of Earth won the war and declared independence, claiming the rights and management of the Solar System. In the end, Extraterrestrial Sovereignty ends the war due to political reasons and invites the Sun government to join.

The name of a governmental system is based on the star of that particular gravitationally bound system and the objects that orbit it.

The Extraterrestrial Sovereignty wanted the Solar System to expand its territory and resources and equally distribute them to those who took the risk. Since Earth is in a goldilocks zone and quite far from other alien civilizations, it's the perfect place to set up bases and military installations. When the Machine waged war on humanity, Extraterrestrial Sovereignty took the opportunity to attack when both were weakened. Still, no one predicted the machine's action and turned the tide of war around.

The Extraterrestrial Sovereignty's knowledge, all AI, or the machine they encounter only wants the end of all life forms or their creator's destruction. What makes the Earth's machine unique?

Intergalactic year 13.6 B (Earth year 3,989), the Earth changed dramatically from the technological and environmental perspective, but this is not a story about the Sun Government nor the Extraterrestrial life. The story is about a stunning maiden, a Tabi race from the edge of the Milky Way opposite to the Solar System. She travels the cosmos to hunt criminals or anyone with a bounty named Sylvia. She doesn't work alone anymore; to be precise, she travels with a failed human experiment who terrorizes those who offended him and recited gibberish phrases or words; the human is named K-13.

Tabi Race-Basically, a catgirl.

In Old New York breakfast restaurant for a quick break after a long space journey, Sylvia chats with K-13 about their next target. They claimed the bounty from the notorious alien trafficker for 10,000 units and the mad scientist for 75,000 units from planet Marz where Sylvia found K-13.

Units- The Milky Way's common Currency.

"What do you think about this guy?" Sylvia asks K-13 showing a holographic poster of a person with three eye sockets and an eye.

We don't talk about the eyes.

"That Cuπt motherfu¢ker! I will drink his blood like wine," K-13 shouts while everyone in the breakfast restaurant looks at them and wonders why a rare and pretty Tabi race is hanging out with a low-life human like K-13 as he stares at the target with a 15,000 units bounty.

"Hiding in Washington. E. C. The last time my connection heard about this drug lord scam," Sylvia calmly said.

Washington, E.C- Capital of Planet Earth.

"Hateful creature but a blood bath to enjoy," K-13 shouts once again while people around them start to get angry.

"Let's finish up so we can go, nya?" Sylvia let out, finishing her food as K-13 complies.

"Purge!" K-13 shouts as soon as he finishes his food.

Sylvia laughs modestly, calling for the check and knowing everyone inside is about to lose their mind.

"That would be 36 Units, and thank you," the cashier said.

"Murder!!!" K-13 hits the table, looking at the cashier.

The cashier back off immediately and is about to call someone for help, but Sylvia quickly intervenes and calms the situation by showing the cashier K-13's Disabled Identification (ID) Card, "I think thirteen wants to say that he enjoyed the food."

"You're welcome?" The cashier cautiously let out.

"Have a good day," Sylvia expresses to the people inside the restaurant before taking K-13's arm and walking towards the car.

Upon getting in the car, K-13 shouts, "BRING THE HELLFIRE!!!"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU JACKASS!" An alien with hovering baggage on the other side of the road shout.

"YOU WELCOME DEATH!" K-13 responded as he equipped his razor-sharp claws gauntlet, ready to take the alien down, but Sylvia grabbed his arm and told K-13 to get in the rental.

Annoyed and irritated, K-13 groans inside the car like a kid whose parents didn't buy the toy he wanted in the store. Looking out the window, K-13 saw Sylvia activating her ACS&D (Auto Camera Search & disable) for the cameras to remove her and K-13's image and shooting her S-EMP (Singular-EMP Pistol) to the hovering baggage carrier.

"Arrrrr," K-13 snorts while he watches the struggling fat alien pick up all his belongings in the street after his hovering baggage carrier malfunctions.

"Did mew like that 13?" Sylvia asks with a smile on her face.

"Sweet revenge!" K-13 replies happily.

"That's what I thought," Sylvia let out as she set the coordinates in the car's GPS.

Driving around the city by land instead of flying, K-13 looks in amazement at the towering buildings like a little kid who never knew that buildings could go high, reaching the sky. Sylvia smiles, looking at the innocent K-13, which she intended for K-13 to experience while keeping themselves under the radar because they have bounties in their head after the mad scientist accident.

"DEATH METAL!" K-13 shouts, looking at the robot outside

"Oh! 13, don't be alarmed. See, our machine tracker is not beeping. It means that they're good and mean no harm, while machines with glowing lights mean that they are programmed to do chores and stuff," Sylvia explains, tapping K-13's shoulder to get his attention. She noticed that whenever K-13 looked at her, he relaxed.

"Slaughter the living!?" K-13 let out in a puzzled tone.

"Well... Some are programmed that way, mnya, but those civilized machines are better and worst versions of humankind," Sylvia sounds and tells her story of when she took one down in the past.

Thirty minutes inside the car, they ascend to the skyline to reach Washington, E.C., in an hour or two, depending on the traffic. Thanks to the current technology, they don't need to drive the car unless they want to. The inside is average, like a van. The couch on both sides and a retractable table in the middle make the car spacious and an excellent place to rest. In the current era, everyone can customize their vehicle to the extent that anyone can call it home.

Looking out the window, K-13 saw buildings above water and wondered what happened as he pointed it out, "World flooded with sin?"

"Earth experience a cycle in which the myagnetic poles shift at a prolonged rate, melting ice caps and stuff. This results in the seawater level rising at a moderately slow pace, and humans help the process to go turbo. Funny. The city sinks, and mew land is found. No need to worry," Sylvia let out, reading the holographic pamphlet about Earth.

"Hmmm," K-13 sounds as he takes the pamphlet from Sylvia.

"Guess humans survive like cockroaches. It's funny that whoever infested Earth with those disgusting bug sure know how to prank! Nya?" Sylvia utters, and a cold wave embalms her as hair rises on the back of her neck in disgust.

"DEATH RAY!!!" K-13 shouts, startling Sylvia and making her look outside.

"Oh! That giant 'Death Ray' is the latest and most effective way to collect energy from the Sun to power up the whole planet," Sylvia explains and is also having fun since it's her first time on Earth.

The scenery didn't change, but the building gets taller to the point that the 'Death Ray' can not be seen, making it rare for people to see how beautiful the sky is at night and day.

Stopping by on top of a building, Sylvia returns the rental car, pays it for 50 units, and it automatically drives back to the owners. In this era, parking businesses/companies are among the most profitable since everyone needs to park their vehicle somewhere with the best security.

"Are you ready to hunt?" Sylvia asks with a smile on her face, thinking she once hunted alone in this cold and deadly universe.

"Night of horror COMES TO MY PREY!" K-13 replies as he gets down the car.

Major cities are now massive cubes made of concrete and metal with two levels and a roof. That said, Sylvia has a hint of where to gather information and find the target.

K-13 follows Sylvia to the elevator and watches her press the 'Lower Level' button as the door closes. Going down the glass tube elevator, K-13 looks like a little kid with both of his hands in the glass. Looking up where they come from, K-13 saw the sky, clouds, birds, and the Sun setting. He looks at Sylvia to see if she knows what is going on.

"Oh, that? The ceiling is basically a giant screen to simulate the time and the outside weather," Sylvia clarified as she fixed the crooked part of K-13's shirt.

K-13 frowned after they reached the ground as the elevator kept going down, missing the park's beautiful sight, bright flying cars, and buildings with an advertising screen that would illuminate the street as the Sunset in the Northwest.

The lower level is for the poor, and the upper floor is for the rich. The length of the space from the ceiling to the ground is precisely half of the upper floor. The lower and upper floors are also the exact opposite; for example, if the upper floor is clean, the lower level will be dirty, and anyone can get sick.

Before the door opens, Sylvia and K-13 put on gasmask to conceal their face and protect themselves from toxic gas lingering around the lower level. This place was as beautiful as the upper level for more than fifty years, but corruption slowly rots the city away to its demise—the true nature of the living.

Sylvia looks at K-13 and holds his hand, worrying that he might get lost in the crowd and cause trouble for both of them. Like lovers walking on a busy street, stall vendors ask everyone since anyone can be their possible customer. Even with K-13's brute nature, Sylvia could keep him obedient and calm; is it her smoothing voice or her unworldly beauty?

-Buy the relic of the past, very cheap!-

-Miss, you two seem to be dating. This device will tell how compatible...-

-Earthly octopus food! TRY Earthly food! Takoyaki! Ma'am, Sir?-

-Sir! Do you need high-grade car parts?-

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

Sylvia and K-13 ignore everyone and continue to walk. Sylvia takes a device out and starts searching for a specific location. Walking around sightseeing, Sylvia and K-13 saw someone come out of the alley. They make a detour to the alleyway and see someone in a hoodie, a possible drug dealer.

"Welcome to my alley! How may I serve you, fine customers?" The man in the hoodie asks.

"How did you know that we're not a cop?" Sylvia asks curiously.

"Hahaha! Funny for you to ask that; we control this area and the remaining ten blocks. We also scanned what you two have, and they found a blaster each, not a cop, not a threat," the dealer happily explained and continued, "So what do you two 'lovers' want to buy?"

"I see," Sylvia smiles and requests, "We want five boxes of fragmentation grenades and two myggot."

"Grenades, I can do that now, but I can only give you myggot to be consumed here in my alleyway," the dealer let out in disappointment and tapped the wall as it opened with five boxes of grenades and two myggot in a glass vial and said, "Also... To leave, I need to see you two try our product, myggot."

"We plan to take it after we get home," Sylvia answers.

Drugs are commonly used on Sylvia's home planet, similar to Earth's catnip herb, but Myggot is different. It will put any Tabi race on a path with no return.

Myggot's blood- is the most addictive drug ever made, some effects may include putting anyone into a murderer's rage, and if that person's blood gets consumed by others, it will be in a murderer phase temporarily.

"Fine!" Sylvia said with her eyebrows together.

"Don't you look at me like that! It's a business policy," the dealer said and took a myggot to K-13 since he volunteered to take the first Myggot, "We do this because other groups want to copy our product; also, it will be in your blood or system; no matter what you do. Super illegal~."

K-13 looks at the dealer and takes the myggot from him. He looks up and squeezes the myggot as the blood drips straight through his eyes. K-13's actions surprise Sylvia and the dealer as they worry since there is a 100% chance he'll go berserk. Addicts typically inject or consume through the mouth and wait for half an hour before the drug goes into effect.

K-13 shouts and starts pulling his hair like his in pain. With the symptoms that K-13 shows, the dealer activates his security, and torrents start coming out of the wall to shoot if necessary.

The dealer doesn't know what to do until K-13 stops shouting and starts stretching as if nothing happened. Sylvia quickly rushes towards him and says, "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN! Can you please!?" Sylvia spoiled K-13 and looked at the dealer along with his torrents

"Oh! Sorry, sorry," the dealer said and disabled his torrents. "Today is a crazy day!"

Sylvia paid the dealer and walked out of the alleyway with K-13 after she took the Myggot.

"Sor...rry," K-13 let out and stuns Sylvia with his word knowing his condition.

"It's okay; you know that you can take the mask off earlier and take the myggot by mouth. I know that I told you not to take your mask off; that's my fault," Sylvia said as she put her head on K-13's arm.

For the rest of the day, Sylvia and K-12 enjoyed the upper level's high-class Earth cuisine, exclusive shopping mall, and VR to the past, and took pictures of beautiful architecture as foreigners do. Before Sunset, they went back to the lower level and straight to a robot shop.

Online shopping dominated the market and forced all retail and wholesale industries to close. Who would think someone could save the mall by buying every mall, the only social gathering left on Earth (bars, clubs, festivals, and more), and making it exclusive to the visitors?

"Sorry, but we don't sell living parts," the shop owner said, and also a machine.

"Cut the crap, Rex-42," Sylvia let out.

"How did you know my name?" He said while his hands turned to a blaster, pointing it to K-13 and Sylvia.

Sylvia immediately stops K-13 from attacking Rex-42 and takes a card that only the living machine can read and understand.

"You know, my brother? Is he doing fine? Mother is worried." Rex-42 takes his weapon down, asking multiple questions.

"He told me not to worry, but that's not the reason we're here for," Sylvia said and took the case that K-13 was holding, "We're tracking someone, and I need a device to help us track that particular someone."

"A friend of my brother is a friend of mine," Rex-42 said.

"What if I killed your brother?" Sylvia let out

To Sylvia's understanding, that conversation is like a code her friend machine sets up for these rare occasions.

"Hahaha, funny that my brother found a friend like you," Rex-42 replies and opens the door to let them in beyond the red line.

Machine loves to install traps that will kill anyone instantly; a red line on the floor is a form of warning for anyone.

"Come follow me to the back," Rex-42 said, waving his hand.

"Oh! I'm Sylvia, and my partner Thirteen," Sylvia happily introduced themselves.

"Thirteen? I like his name," Rex-42 comments.

"Hail to rusty!" K-13 let out with his hands on the air

"He said thank you," Sylvia translated what K-13 said like an expert.

"Weird human," Rex-42 whispered.

The Earth's living machine is the most unique and cunning AI like humans that existed in the known universe. The Earth's living machine might be the first AI to like the living, unlike other alien robots that swear to wipe out all living creatures of the universe.

What makes them so special?

"So tell me, what can I do for you two?" Rex-42 said, looking at them while playing with a metallic sphere that produces static electricity.

"This," Sylvia opens the case revealing a vial containing blood.

"I see... You're trying to claim Cyclop's bounty, be careful, friends," Rex-42 expressed and opened a secret compartment in the floor.

"How did you know?" Sylvia asks, thinking that the enemy might have known their existence.

"Actually, I'm waiting for someone bold and brave enough to take the guy out. He's hurting the citizens, thus affecting my business," Rex-42 explains.

"..." Sylvia and K-13 look at Rex-42 like they don't believe his words.

Rex-42- A war hero and a key member who helps persuade his kind to join humanity and go against the greedy Extraterrestrial Sovereignty.

Rex-42 horridly takes the vial and consumes half of the myggot's blood. His lens flickers like having an error and will stabilize in ten minutes or less.

"That's the shit!" Rex-42 said while his head randomly and intensely shakes and continued, "I upgraded my sensors to the point that I can taste food and enjoy drugs."

"MY BROTHER FROM HELL!" K-13 shouts, and Rex-42 shouts in tandem in amazement, "YEAAAA!"

Sylvia stared at the two hopelessly and whispered, "Childish."

Who would think that K-13, a human, and Rex-42, a machine, quickly become friends? While in the drug's effects, he takes the remaining blood and puts it in the device to analyze its content.

"It appears it comes from a pig host and not a rotten carcass," Rex-42 let out, reading the analyzer's outputs and continuing, "No sign of impurities... Just pure MOA, Dopamine, Endorphins, caffeine, THC, and more stuff."

"Pigs? That's all I need to know," Sylvia said, calling K-13 into the corner, but his focus at the blaster that looked like a hand.

"It seems that Brother-13 wants my old blaster-shield?" Rex-42 lightheartedly stated.

"My enemies will bow to their knees!!" K-13 comments as he raises his hand, aligning it to the weapon in the wall.

"Oh! I just realized where you are from... Take it! Because family!" Rex-42 said that makes K-13 happy.

"BROTHER RUSTY!" K-13 shouts with excitement. "Soon, I'll send souls to hell!"

"You are welcome!" Rex-42 said that he could fully understand him by heart.

In the past, humans started to conduct experiments to enhance and modify the human body. Beneficial results help humans fight equally with the machine, while those who failed and survived the experiment paid a heavy toll, excruciating death.

Rex-42 activates and makes changes to the weapon and asks the two for a drop of their blood so no one can use it except the two.

When Rex-42 gives it back to K-13, the blaster automatically adjusts around his left lower arm and extends to his hand, where he can shoot.

"It was my blaster during the war... I'm happy to see it to be activated again. Happy hunting!" Rex-42 expressed, walking them to the back door.

"Thank you for your help and for the gift!" Sylvia happily displayed as K-13's new blaster retracts and becomes a gauntlet.

"It's my pleasure," Rex-42 said, waving his hand goodbye.

Knowing that the myggot comes from a pig host, Sylvia starts to log in to the Earth's social media and specific news to gather the information that could lead them to the myggot farm.

She went through approximately five years back of social media and news content to notice a trend about a fouled smell around the area, people going through a murder phase, and how frequently it is happening. She also hacks into the law enforcement's database and can not believe that Washington, E.C is the most impacted area of the drug pandemic.

Who would think that the city is rotten deep through its core?

In the police station, Sylvia and K-13 found themselves reporting a crime about a thug hitting someone to death and finding a vial.

"Mr. Officer, it was horrible... Luckily they didn't see us and found this," Sylvia displays by hugging K-13's arm like a traumatized young lady and scared half to death with her man supporting her.

"That's..." The officer in the lobby shivers and immediately calls the detective assigned to the case.

"Before you two leave, we need to test you for any substance intake and questioning," The machine investigator said and continued, "My partner and I were assigned to this kind of matter; we will do our best to keep the city safe."

Like a Starhood actor, Sylvia didn't panic nor show any sign of unwillingness. K-13 and Sylvia complied and went straight to the testing room. K-13 did not utter a word at that moment.

Starhood- Space Hollywood version.

Testing negative for myggot's substance, Sylvia and K-13 leave the premises without problems. Now that the police have the lead, the machine investigator and his human partner are set to the location Sylvia provided.

The machine always goes inside first since they're more durable and easy to fix as long they don't damage enough or any vital components. They can also use sensors to do the job successfully, but only the approved implants; some can harm or kill the living. That's why.

Inside the abandoned building, a lifeless person wearing a hoodie can be seen holding a small cube. The cube is a holographic storage device that can store 1000 terabytes of data. When the cube is activated and operated by the machine investigator, a web-like design comes out, and information where he can connect all the dots and realize the worst possible outcome.

The closer they get, the more complicated the case gets and the farther it goes away from the machine investigator's hands. He knows that there is a mole, but who? Slowly looking back to his partner, he heard something charge and listened to his partner's words.

"I warned you a million times... I'm sorry, partner," the human investigator expressed, unhappy as he pulled the trigger.

Little did he know, his machine partner saw Sylvia and K-13 hiding in the building, watching and listening. Knowing his fate that night, that machine investigator deserves everyone's respect, but who will know or tell his sacrifice? With K-13's new blaster, he understands that an old friend, Rex-42, trusts the two and plays along.

In half an hour, the human investigator's minions set the place on fire, taking the detective's body for scraps. Organized crime can be hard to deal with the law holding them back, but the drug lord's operations end tonight with Sylvia and K-13's help.

Sylvia is like a predator that won't let her eyes off her prey. She sends the video of the machine detective getting killed by his partner to Rex-42 along with the tracker she placed on the minions' car and the farms for him to take out.

The beautiful fireworks begin tonight, with every piece moving on Sylvia's hand.

Upper level.

In a four-story mansion, the human detective reports to Cyclop that someone inside is trying to smoke him out as he activates the cube. Looking at the details of the content stored in the cube, Cyclop realizes and recognizes Sylvia's signature logo.

The cube explodes, killing the human investigator, but Cyclop activates his shield before the explosion reaches his body.

"We have been looking for you!" Sylvia said, revealing herself along with K-13 behind the door.

Sylvia wears a black AI power light-armor suit, while K-13 wears the same gray coverall with only a few protective plates covering his body.

"What do you want from me?" Cyclop asked as he activated the mansion's alarm and noticed nothing had happened.

"You know the answer, don't play dumb," Sylvia said and looked at K-13, smiling like she was giving permission, "You know what to do."

Yu (Sylvia's AI suit): Playing Earth music 2023; you might like it.

Sylvia: Thank you, Yu.

"WELCOME TO SLAUGHTERHOUSE!!!" K-13 shouts, running towards Cyclop with his claw weapon in his right hand and the blaster in his left.

Sylvia detonates all the bombs she planted, giving the guards a hard to get into their current location on time.

After the initial explosion, everyone in the mansion started to investigate and armed themselves. With the cameras in the estate has been hacked by Sylvia, everyone thought she was on the second floor without them knowing and saw their boss running to the roof safely without any pursuers.

The security opens the door and sees Sylvia running, making them open fire but unable to hit the target. Without warning, the two doors explode, sealing the room and killing half of the force that went inside. When they reached Sylvia in the corner, they realized they were shooting at her hologram the whole time. The device that renders Sylvia's image explodes, killing everyone in the room.

"All according to plan," Sylvia said, looking at the monitors.

The remaining security forces realize that the enemy has already hacked the system and doing their best to bring it back. By the time they restored the security system, they had noticed an extra video tab added to the monitor. Looking closer at the monitor, they saw themselves confused and someone standing behind them from the beginning.

They are already dead before they know it, like a predator playing with its prey.

Cyclop runs to escape and cries out for help, while K-13 immediately slays anyone that comes in front of him or tries to protect his prey with his razor-sharp weapon claws and blaster. On top of the mansion, Cyclop gets in the car happily as he looks back.

Before the car flies away and successfully escapes, the claw shoots at the vehicle. The wire is made from several flexible metallic strands twisted together, making it durable as it pulls K-13 straight through the car.

"DEATH'S DOOR OPENS!!!" K-13 shouts, forcing the door to open with his strength and dragging the Cyclop out.

Falling to the ground, K-13 wants to end Cyclop's life but turning him alive means more Points. He shoots his grappling again but to Cyclop's left leg and drags him where Sylvia wants them to meet.

"Let's talk!" Cyclop shouts and continues, "I have money, any kind of woman, drugs! Name your price!"

K-13 looks and shouts as he aims his blaster at Cyclop's left arm, "YOUR BLOODDDD!!"

Guarding Cyclop on the rooftop floor, K-13 waits for Sylvia. In a few minutes, Sylvia comes out of the door. She holds a lifeless body in the neck with her tail while she cleans her armor due to the blood spraying at her whenever she kills the enemies.

"Guess we are done here!" Sylvia lets out happily and holds Cyclop's hair checking his face, "You look so ugly."

"GOBLIN!" K-13 madly shouts.

When their ride finally comes, they turn in Cyclop to the closes Space Force that transfers people like him to a secure prison where they belong.

Mercenary or bounty hunters like Sylvia and K-13 have privileges since the government sometimes can not touch someone in power. They take all the blame.

Ultimately, the car enters a spaceship that appears to be Sylvia's spaceship. The spacecraft is as big as a family-size house, enough for four to eight personnel.

"Any place you want to visit?" Sylvia asks K-13.

K-13 pointed his finger at her and said, "Home."

"You make me blush!" Sylvia playfully declares and smiles as she cuddles with K-13.

Looking out the window, the two enjoy Earth's beauty, weaponized moon, and space traffic caused by Earth's Customs.

"We should visit the good places in the Solar System," Sylvia happily announces.

Yu: Playing Earth's relaxing music.

End.
