It’s just the usual day for me. Going to school where I feel sleepy more often than not, chatting with my friends about games, girls, and even politics as if we know-it-all. The day before, today, the next day and the day after it and even the day after that are basically just repeating the same routine. Some might say it is boring. Naturally, I have thought so too myself but even so, it is better than returning back to a home where there is no one.
I don’t really want to mention my dad who ran away with some other woman but my kind mother passed away from illness just last year. I don’t have siblings, and since my mom eloped with that failure of a dad, it can be said that I don’t have any relatives. Right now I am living by doing part time jobs and using mom’s savings. Some but not all of school related expenses are paid by the government thanks to a teacher who even took care of the necessary procedures.
Should I consider myself unlucky? No, my mom always told me that there are many more unfortunate people in the world so I at least tried to have a positive outlook in life. Sure I felt down many times but that believe and my personality doesn’t allow me to stay being so for long.
I know the importance of a proper rest so I don’t have part time jobs on Sunday. Earlier this morning I finished my laundry and hung them outside in my small backyard so when I noticed that rainclouds are gathering in the sky while I was eating my lunch, instant noodles, I quickly rushed and opened the door to my backyard.
And wow, just wow.
I looked at another pair of eyes looking at mine in surprise. My eyes however, gradually moves downward to find pale pink charming lips complementing her glistening healthy white skin on her cheeks, neck, and… collarbone. Sticking to her nape is her wet chestnut colored hair. Did she just take a bath? Further down, barely covered by a piece of white cloth in her hand would be the most enthralling parts. Wait, stop it right there me! I am a gentleman, so I smiled and quietly closed the door.
Hmm, something is strange here. Where was I? Not that, what am I doing? Why did I stop looking? Gentleman? Screw that, I can be a perverted gentleman instead. Yes, let’s open the door once again.
I stepped forward and entered the room. What I found there was the same girl, however she already finished wearing her undergarments and in process of wearing a white one piece. You can see that she was doing that in a hurry from the ruffled and displaced parts of her clothes.
“Tch, too bad… anyway, hey there. Sorry to intrude but can you tell me what is happening?”
I raised a hand and smiled with my best business smile learned at Wacky Ronald where I work part time.
“KKI…A…AA…AAA!!!”
With what sounded like a muffled but forced shout she began to throw whatever she could immediately grab at me.

“Whoa! Hey, calm down!”
I dodged and dodged but some hit my body. Fortunately most were only set of rolled up cloth, wooden tray, and the likes so it doesn’t hurt too much.
“U…uuu… uuhh…”
With teary eyes she finally grabbed a metallic candle stand.
“Wait, that’s definitely bad idea! Calm down and put it down slowly… okay? Slowly.”
Contrary to what I had hoped she raised the candle stand slowly and threw it at me with all her strength. I felt a painful impact on my face as it hit me, I fell backwards and my head hit something. After that, I lost consciousness.

I could hear voices, many voices. Some people were laughing and it felt like some other ones were talking to me in an unfamiliar language but strangely I understand the meaning. Before I could respond the voices grow distant and I felt something on my face.
I took off the wet towel covering my eyes and forehead while raising my body up. I opened my eyes as I couldn’t help but groan from the pain both on my face and the back of my head. There I saw the girl from before. I didn’t notice it because I was looking somewhere else but her ears… are located right above her head. Wait, they’re cat ears! They don’t look to be fake either. Wow, just wow!
As our eyes met, only then I noticed that her beautiful hazel eyes are looking at me with hostility.
“Uhh, hello?”
“N… not… h…lo!!! Y…u p….ng tom!”
“Huh? Sorry, what did you say?”
Seemingly shocked herself, her hostile eyes turned gloomy and she looked downwards.
“Oh so the boy woke up?”
I looked at a door behind the girl to find a beautiful lady with similar cat ears and chestnut colored hair although her hair is at waist length. She is also significantly taller and with a far better endowed figure. *Ahem
She approached me and grabbed me by the collar. Whoa, what strength. She almost lifted me up from the bed.
“Okay, fess it boy! What were you doing in my daughter’s room?”
“Ma’am, we are civilized being so please put me down first and I will talk.”
I raised both hands and the lady who squinted to my response finally released me.
“The thing is… I don’t even know what happened to me and where I am.”
“You expect me to believe that? No… at least I’m sure you’re not from around here. I’ve never seen someone with ears like yours either.”
“Huh?”
“That being so, you still need to tell me why you were in my daughter’s room.”
Now that is difficult. Will she believe me if I tell her the truth? Should I just make up some more believable story?
Losing to the lady’s intimidating eyes, I ended up telling her the truth and as expected she doesn’t believe me. The girl is, however seemed to be interested in my story.
Wanting to proof my not so much of an innocence… I ended up as a peeping tom in the end anyway, I asked to be taken to the girl’s room since it seemed that the lady moved me to a guest room when I was unconscious.
“I came through that door.”
I said so and pointed at the open door leading to my messy kitchen.
“What are you saying boy? There’s only a wall over there.”
Cracking her fist, the lady looked at me with a sinister smile while the girl kept nodding to her words.
Huuuuh? Cold sweat began to drench my back. Isn’t this bad? Could it be that I’m the only one who could see the door?
The lady began to walk towards me and I stepped back from the pressure.
“Please wait! I, uhhh… “
I immediately turned around and rushed to my kitchen without finishing my sentence.
“Hey you, wai… eh?”
Prompted by the “eh” on her speech I looked back to find the lady raising her arm at my direction. The girl is staring here with mouth agape and widely opened eyes.
I’m not sure what happened but it seems I was safe for now.
