We raced towards the horizon on our hovering machines, wielding our giant swords and slashing any demonic entities we happen to cross on the way.
“We have to hurry, Oliver!” Elise shouted, making sure we keep on track.
The portal at the end of this field was closing, and if we don’t make it in time, our dearest childhood friend Theo would be consumed by the darkness, releasing his inner powers, and turning him into an unstoppable monster.
Elise and I were siblings, we grew up together with Theo in a small village not far from where we were.
In a world where monsters from the darkest corners of the world clashed with brilliant technology developed by the humans, we were forced into lives as soldiers fighting against those monsters, like most children who grow up in this world.
But Elise, Theo, and I excelled, we outmatched everyone we’d ever known, and this brought us up to some of the highest rankings in the whole country, maybe even the world.
Theo was always special, and things went normally for him in this soldier’s life until the day we found out that inside of him was some kind of power… A power that isn’t really supposed to be found inside of a human, that’s for sure.
The higher-ups treated him as a monster in disguise, but we managed to keep him with us and to have him use his power for the betterment of mankind, not knowing of the catastrophe that would befall the world today…
“Keep charging forward!” I shouted, as many soldiers behind me and Elise were attacking these demons, and many others falling victim to the demonic forces before us.
“We have to get Theo before the portal closes!” I commanded, knowing damn well we weren’t going to make it.
The portal was closing more and more and we still had a long ways to go. We could see the silhouette of Theo floating in the center, his very soul becoming corrupt under the influence of these dark monsters.
I pushed my hovering machine to the absolute max, going as fast it could possibly let me. Why does this have to take place in such a huge field?
It was hard to steer, but I kept steady for a moment until suddenly… Everything went white. All I could see was nothing but blinding lightness, and while I didn’t see what was going on through this, I knew exactly what this meant.
“No!” I heard Elise shout through all of the noise all around this field. She knew it too.
The light subsided, and when we looked up, the portal and Theo’s silhouette was no longer there, instead, what we saw was something neither of us had seen in our many years of fighting monsters all around the world.
It was… beautiful, yet mind-twistingly terrifying. Was this what was locked away inside of Theo this whole time?
Before us stood a being that can only be described as god himself.
A colossal humanoid figure, with an uncountable number of arms and wings that reached high into the sky, with glowing chains that seem to be attached to the stars above.

Their head was orbited by massive glowing rings and what looked to be small planets. This entity looked to be the center of the universe itself.
This being didn’t move at first, and all of us, the soldiers, the demons, all stood in awe at this glowing being.
Just then, out of a hellish portal, came the king of demons himself.
“What a beautiful specimen!” He exclaimed, excited that his plans finally succeeded, his plans to awaken and control what was inside of Theo.
“This being is powerful enough to transform this world, a being strong enough to make a new world for the demons!”
The king laughed at his thoughts of finally succeeding, but then suddenly, in what seemed like just a fraction of a second, the glowing being moved one arm, and thousands of piercing spikes flew out of the sky, impaled the demon king, and tore him into nothing more than particles which would proceed to float up and become a part of the rings that orbit the glowing being’s head.
The demon king, a powerful menace that no man could even so much as scratch… Just absolutely obliterated before us all… Not even his cursed soul remained.
Instinctively, all of the demons and soldiers in the field were drowned in a sense of complete terror at the power of the glowing being, and began to run. Even Elise and I, who were some of the bravest, found ourselves scrambling in fear.
Did we fear for our lives? Did we fear for the world itself? No… This thing could easily wipe out the flow of time and space itself. We knew running was futile, yet we did anyway.
It wasn’t long until I felt my skin turn ice cold and my heart stop. It looked as though the ground below me was flying towards my face, but I was in fact falling right off of my hovering machine, and I watched it happen to Elise, the soldiers, the demons, and even the animals and plants around us, all descend to the ground.
Everything around us started disassembling into tiny particles, only to become a part of the rings that orbit this being’s head… But I noticed that Elise and I were still here, in this now barren wasteland of a planet.
Suddenly, Theo appeared before us. Well, we knew it was Theo, but what we saw was a human sized figure that glowed brighter than the sun itself.
“I understand now,” Theo spoke, “I can feel the universe inside of me…”
He spoke with such a soft tone, and despite the circumstances, Elise and I began to calm down. We didn’t even know if we were dead or not, but we knew we were in the presence of Theo.
“I’m going to create a world where we can all live in peace,” Theo calmly voiced, "We won't need to fight anymore, we won't need to lose any friends or family, everything will be just like how it was when we were children."
The ground below us got warmer and warmer, but never too hot.
Before we knew it… Elise, Theo, and I were all sitting inside of a small cabin. We were all children again it seemed… And it felt as though what I had just experienced was nothing more than a strange day dream.
I stood up and looked outside the window. Our village was different. There were no high walls or heavily armed guards everywhere. There were no dangerous monsters roaming the forests nearby. Everyone looked peaceful.
I felt a hand grab my shoulder and turned over to see young Theo smiling warmly.
“No more monsters to fight.” He spoke.
