The last time Jhai had awoken the year must have been somewhere around 2550 but even at that period of time she was unsure. The wars of the 21st century devastated most of world. It wasn't the nuclear bombings that destroyed us but that didn't really help the situation. It was the constant biological warfare that we were engaged in. Viruses and plagues had run rampant until only a small amount of the population remained. Originally there were many treaties in place which prevented us from using such weapons but someone broke that treaty. The year of 2016 started with just over 7.3 billion people but unfortunately not even half of that remained in 2030. After the initial attacks food shortages became the common norm and people fled from the cities to survive.

At first, the situation was under control. People lived their lives almost normally. There were those even in denial that anything was wrong but the scientists in the NOC institution knew otherwise. While attempting to solve the food shortage issues that were occurring, the viruses took too many lives. Governments collapsed and the world as we knew was changed. At the same time the virus TH78192 mutated. It warped the bodies and minds of those it infected. It infected not only Humans but many other animals as well. While it infected a little more than half the remaining population, only around 5% of animals could be infected.

Around the time these problems arose, humanity started to change. A small portion of the population started to develop strange abilities. The world would call them psychics. People born with the telekinesis, and foresight.

Jhai and a few people she knew went to sleep in cryo in the year 2125 and slept for 200 years. They were some of the worlds best and brightest. All of which possessed high I.Q's and a psychic ability.

During this time period Jay and Willow fell. Infected animals got to them. We didn't even know at this time that animals could be infected. There hadn't been any cases prior to when they slept.

Then again 3 years later for another 100 years.

Victor, Taylor, and Trinity fell as well. There were a few human settlements around where we decided to sleep but they were riddled with problems. The three of them tried to change things for the better but were unable to make it back.

We found out that Gina's pod broke down and that she died during her sleep. The emergency override failed to activate.

Each time she awoke, Jhai saw the world driven further and further into darkness. There was just too many problems with the world and it could never go back to the way it was. She had lost many of her friends along the way. Who even knew what happened to Charlie. He had been with her during the last awakening but disappeared without a trace.

Jhai went into the machine and hit the starting sequence, not even looking at how long she would be sleeping for this time.
