Awakening of an Anomaly
Chapter 2: Confrontation

Chapter 2: Confrontation

"There seems to be a hole where the entrance is." One of the four robots stated.

"Excellent observation, Prime." One of the robot's S4CR4SM filter was running at full capacity.

"What do you suppose caused this, S8?" Prime asked, unable to recognize the tone of voice.

"My analysis states that it is the giant metal object that is currently attached to the wall behind us."

"My analysis matches that data." Prime stated it looked behind to see the tube base embedded into the wall.

"P1 and P2, open the door" Prime commanded.

P1 and P2 got to work and began connecting to the main server to access the door panel. The door began to rise upwards but it got stuck due to the protruding center.

"Send in an report and get that fixed." Prime pressed another order.

Despite the door being stuck, it was still enough for them to walk through. They stood witness to the destruction in the room.

"My analysis states that this is not a good situation" Prime spoke.

"Not sure about you but this looks like the perfect situation to me" S8's S4CR4SM was still running.

"Split apart and do a full system scan of the room and bring together a damage report." With the statement of Prime the robots got to work.

They all scanned various part of the room, while sharing information between them. They all returned back to the center of the room to create a conclusive report.

"Data: 97.8% of the items destroyed in the room are beyond repair. This includes R6 who had the task to supervise the room. P2 also found a DNA sample and the analysis got a 100% match with Subject A0."

"Upon further analysis: the damage in the room seemed to caused by a vine like object."

"What is a 'vine'?" Prime asked as his database did not have such a word.

"Plant native to Earth, sir. But, the data does suggest that it has been extinct for four earth months." P1 answered.

"Interesting. So the subject seemed to use a 'vine' line object to crush everything in the room and perform an escape?" Prime questioned.

This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

"Yes." P1 nodded.

"The subject training regime has not even begun. The reports state that the subject exposure to the SP9 was very recent. It is not possible for powers to awaken that early."

"Unless, the natural affinity between the subject and the chemi-"

"Put the ship in high alert. Capturing the subject should be the highest priority." Prime cut P1 off and stated to the robots.

"Should we release the drones?" P2 asked with anticipation.

"Yes. Set them to capture mode. That subject needs to be alive for master's plans to succeed."

"At once." P2 opened up a console out of thin air and began to type in commands.

Soon the whole ship was in high alert in search for the escaped experiment.

Meanwhile, the subject was unaware of the impending threat looming upon him. He roamed the hallways trying to find anything that would lead him outside.

"If I keep going at this rate, I would need to make waxed wings to escape." He lamented at his misfortune. But alas, the ship would not give him peace. His ears perked up from the sounds of footsteps from where he stood. He attempted to cover his ears to stop the sounds but they kept ringing in his head.

"Aargh. Why does it feel so far and close at the same time!" He screamed in his head. He tried to run in the opposite direction of the steps but they seemed to surround him. All encroaching towards him. Thump. Thump. Closer and closer with every breath.

"Fuck." He swore. There was no way he was making it out alive.

One after another they came. From the doors, from the ceiling, even the walls opened up to release bots.

"Stop your resistance." An intercom like voice sounded.

Soon, he came face to face with a giant robot. A humanoid figure stepped closer. Stepped? No it was flying. It feet did not touch the ground. It was closer to drifting. The robot's color was different than the rest that were around him. He was a mixture of grey, orange and his head shaped like a helmet with a blue tint.

Jack knew he should be feeling something right now but he could figure it out. Was it Cowardice? Anger? Fear? He felt nothing facing this colossal robot. He was the type who would be the first to run from danger but his instincts told him to stay. Somewhere, deep in his subconscious a voice spoke, "Destroy" It said. It was so soft it felt like the passing wind. But it was enough.

Jack's eyes rolled to the back of his head so only the whites were visible. His body began to shake and his eyes began to glow in a deep dark shade of purple.

The change did not pass the notice of the colossal robot.

"SUPPRESS" Its voice sounded out. All the robot launched into action. The robots on the ground lunged forward to grab a hold of his arms and legs. The drones surrounding him fired a red beam, which covered him in a cocoon like object.

"Pitiful attempt. Brave. But still pitiful." The colossal robot stated with scorn. But fortune favours the brave. Dark purple tendrils shot out from the ground beneath Jack. Enveloping the robots that were holding Jack and crushing them like they built out of paper.

The colossal robot saw the threat and jumped back. It performed a quick scan of the situation.

"'Vine' like object...So this is how you escaped.."It stated as he read off the report on the subject.

"Anomaly too huh. Fitting the description to the tee." The colossal robot knew Jack could put up a fight, but it underestimated the extent of his powers.

'The command states that the master needs you alive. Alive...I can work with that' The robot began amassing large amount of energy near its chest. Soon it reached the size of a cannon ball and the robot fired it at maximum velocity.

Jack's eyes widened at the approaching energy ball. He tried to dodge it but he could not break free from the cocoon fast enough. The force propelled him backwards, smashing into the wall behind him.

"Your power has not matured enough to be a threat to me." The robot scoffed.

He went forward to examine the target to see the damage that he had done. Scanning his body, he read the data.

"What?" The robot was surpised and when he went to pick up Jack bloodied chin, all he saw was a smiling figure staring back at him.
