It's no big deal. Wait no, it is!

The sound of car tires screeching in my ear woke me up. I knew it was in my head but I was still annoyed. My dream must've been really cruel to wake me up like this.

Coming to some of my senses I started feeling confined. I realized with sudden labored breathing I was stuck inside some sort of sleeping bag. The mugginess inside the bag was suffocating. I tried to get out.

With fear running through my mind I had one panicked realization.

I couldn't get out!

I was stuck, I tried finding some kind of zipper. Maybe buttons to push on. Everything was black, I couldn't see anything. Feeling blind I began to panic more. My breathing became rapid. My heart started racing. The pounding in my ears, It was getting too much. Shaking, I began to feel scared. What if I'd been kidnapped and I was in the back of a van never to be seen again? Fear raced through my mind faster than a river running through a forest. Not helping my brain and certainly not my heart, I began to panic more. Causing me to roll over in reaction.

I could feel myself fall off a distance. Onto the hard ground. I lost all sense of direction and I began to push on the bag in desperation. Nearly in tears and running out of ideas I just layed there listening to my own heartbeat.

Kay calm the fuck down I thought think think think.

Taking a minute to calm myself, I realized the sleeping bag had a small rip just above my head. Just large enough to get a couple of fingers through. So I used my nails to rip it. Scratching until there was a larger rip. The rip splitting down the middle.

Crawling out of the bag fresh air hit my lungs like a baby breathing for the first time. or so I thought. My chest was relaxed but it felt like bricks had been sitting on it. Frowning in confusion my panic began to subside, however it was still dark. I just stood there and breathed it all in. Scents began to waft in like a wave. Feeling wobbly from it all, I fell to my knees. The cold hard floor shocked my system. My brain realized I had no clothes on. It was freezing. The cold, It crawled up my spine like a snake. I just layed there and tears suddenly began to form. I didn't know where I was. I didn't remember anything. I wanted to go home.

It sure seems like my brain was controlling me because it suddenly decided now was the time to take my surroundings in. Getting ready to decide fight or flight. Sitting back up I looked around.

It seemed I was in some sort of dark hospital room. I could tell from the "too clean" smell hospitals gave off. The lights were off, not much was visible. Shaking, I stood up to get a better look. The room had a small table. From which I'm assuming I fell from. It was the only platform to be high enough in the room.

The room had what looked like some sort of hatches. Rows of them. Then in the corner there sat a small side table with what looked like operating tools on them.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

My brain froze as I took a closer look at the tools. They were used to cut things open, not heal them. I slowly backed up as fear once again ran through my body. I backed up until my back hit the wall.

Suddenly I heard voices, slowly coming closer towards me. Panicked, I just froze. I couldn't move. My body wouldn't allow me to.

Then the room lit up faster than a fire to gasoline. The light blinded me. My hand flew up to my face to shade my eyes. Blurry shadows appeared in front of me. They quickly came into view. People.

Fear rose faster than before as I realized they may be my kidnappers.

They, however, seemed more afraid of me. One of them froze in the doorway. The other screamed and ran. The one in the doorway looked at the ground then back at me. Following their gaze, I soon realized that the sleeping bag wasn't in fact, a sleeping bag at all.

It was a body bag!

Tears flooded my eyes. I couldn't understand anything. What was going on?

My brain told me to look at the hatches again. My eyes flickered over there. My vision was ten times clearer now that there was light. My blood froze as the sudden realization of where I was hit me.

I was in a morgue.

"Wh-wha-what's happening to me?" I cried desperately.

I looked back at the door. The coroner was gone. My brain at that moment. Decided flight. My feet complied and I began running.

I didn't know where I was going. I just went. I burst through the double doors that had escaped my vision previously. Tears running down my face, I panicked and decided left or right. Turning left in the split decision, I continued as fast as I could into the next corridor. No windows told me I was still far from the exit. A pair of doors came up. I crashed right through them. A lobby appeared in front of me. I could see the street through the clear doors. It was night. I didn't know what day or time, but I didn't care, I had to just keep running. I ran towards the doors and pulled on them. They were locked. The locks were always on the inside. Turning one of them I ran out the door and onto the street.

Not knowing where I was, I again had to decide left or right. My mind told me right.

Cold air of the night blew against my face as I ran. The wet ground slapped against my bare feet. I could feel my skin burning as I ran over rocks and gravel. My skin feeling a burn as the cold air felt like it was a razor grazing against me.

Turning at the curb I ran down the next street. street lights looked like large halos of light as I ran. I ran blindly. Not paying attention to my feet caused me to trip. My body slammed against the cold wet ground. Scrapping my stomach and legs. I could feel the warm blood trickle down my body. No pain, just warm liquid slowly falling down. I gave up. Crying from fear I curled up in a ball and just layed there. Not knowing what to do. My mind finally shut down. I couldn't think.

I think I fell asleep, but I am not sure how long because I woke up to the sound of tires crunching on gravel. I didn't get up. I was tired and all out of energy. I couldn't move.

Just take me home, I thought sluggishly.

A car door slammed in the distance. Following with a soft voice. It was soothing. An angel I think. I couldn't make out what it said. Her voice was so far away. I wanted to hear her. Was she here to collect me? Was I finally leaving hell?

I managed to get three words out with whatever energy I had left.

"Please...h-help m-me"

Just then I felt a warm hand curl around me. I curled into them. Like a soft cushion they carried me. My body is swaying with a rocking motion. Then I finally heard the angel's voice.

"Sleep now. Your safe"
