**Narrative POV**
Brian grew up spoiled.
His parents were rich, and his family in general. He was a catholic and celebrates holidays such as Christmas and Easter, so he obtained a lot of gifts on those days especially. That is not to mention his birthday.
With all of these blessings, any child would become power-driven. Thinking they were invincible. Children were naturally drawn to him to earn his friendship. To get gifts from him via his parents. Each child fought for their special spot in his life.
Who can blame them? Humans are selfish creatures. Thinking of themselves mostly. There are exceptions, but very very few in number. The birds were different. They fought for themselves during the times they were alone, yet when they found a mate that became a different story.
They stuck together, and rode the path of new life together. Even if they were to get sick, they remained. Holding on to that last hope. Brian was like a bird. He rode alone during his life, yet he had so much to give.
People took him for granted, and people gave him wondrous things. Yet, he remained the same. Ever unchanging. He never became greedy or selfish. There were times when he grew mad at someone, but that never lasted. He could always find reason in their actions.
This all came to an end soon after school. It was nearing summer, in the end of May. May 24th, 2024.
"We'll see you later Brian!" (Friend 1[male])
"Adios, bro!" (Friend 2 [male])
"I'll see you tomorrow Brian. Goodbye!" (Friend 3 [female])
"Alright. See you guys tomorrow." (Brian)
Brian had some after school work to do. He had to clean up the paperwork for the Student Council. The Student Council President was a very busy person, so it was understandable. His friends were lucky in the aspect of being able to return home early, but Brian enjoyed the company of the birds by the window of the 2nd floor.
*Knock*
*Knock*
"Hmm? Yes? Come in." (Brian)
Following Brian's words, a short and rather chubby kid walked in the room. He was most likely a sophomore compared to the senior Brian, and he looked disheveled which bothered Brian but he paid it no mind. In his hands were a stack of papers maybe an inch thick .
"Is there something I can do for you?..." (Brian)
"A- a ahh.. Y-yes! I have an issue that needs to b-be brought to your attention," (Chubby Kid)
The stuttering was a bit suspicious, but Brian once again pushed it aside. He was the school idol so many people had trouble speaking to him so he was used to it.

"Sure. What might that be? Does it have to do with the papers you are holding?" (Brian)
"Y-yes it does. Here, can you take a look?" (Chubby Kid)
The chubby kid walked forwards. Nervously, but accomplishing the task of not stumbling. Brian found it rather amusing, since his skin jiggled as he hesitated but he pushed away those thoughts. The kid inched closer and closer, until he was right in front of Brian. He then handed him the papers.
To Brian's surprise, they were all blank except for the one on the top in which read:
YOU TOOK LILY AWAY
'Lily?' He thought to himself. Lily was the girl he had said bye to this afternoon. She recently joined the student council, and by these words he could presume only one thing. The kid in front of him had a crush on Lily.
Either Lily had a crush on Brian and joined the council for that reason and the kid liked her so it angered him, which is highly likely; or this kid thinks that she has feelings for Brian when she doesn't. The latter is the most unlikely yet it is still possible.
Just as Brian looked up to meet the chubby kid eye to eye, he felt an agonizing pain in his chest, right where his heart resides. After the shock passed, he screamed in agony as he looked at the knife lodged deep into his chest. There was no saving him, and he knew it.
He fell backwards in front of the window, looking up at the chubby kid who had traces of anger and horror for what he had just did.
After several seconds of silence besides the groaning of Brian, Brian was the first to speak.
"*COUGH* *COUGH*... kid... the world is a bad place... *COUGH*... people are greedy... and.. I don't blame you fo- *COUGH* *COUGH*.. for what you did.. you fight for what you believe in.. I just wish... I could have done the same....."
The chubby kid looked down at Brian in terror. The glossy red blood dripped out of Brian's wound and made a puddle around him as he sat there. He sat in front of the window, losing his consciousness yet he could hear loud foot-steps of people running down the hall to the Council's office. They were probably teachers who heard something happening.
Brian simply laid back against the wall and looked up through the open window.
There was no saving him.
He is done for. They can't help him now. He lost too much blood.
He might as well go out doing something he loves.
Watching the birds.
