How the Characters Look

THESE ARE ONLY CONCEPTS. EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT IMAGE OF THE CHARACTERS IN THEIR HEADS! If your vision differs from mine, carry on with YOURS.

Hadi / Verano de Sforza

Verano is often described as having "evident eastern kamaritan traits" (which is like the Middle-East), such as a tanned skin and darker hair than the people in the Empire of the Holy Flame (which is like Europe). His right hand has a burn scar from when Duke de Sforza, his adoptive father, punished him for trying to take responsibility for the misbehavior from Arnaud Jr (his sibling).

He became a lot thinner during his time as a slave to Queen Thyra in the Western Tribe of the North Sea.

The image above includes light eyes, yet Verano has never been described as having them. But maybe he has? Maybe it's just that many 'Fire People' have light eyes and that is just a common trait in their society?

Marzia de Sforza

Marzia is often described as gorgeous, although modest.  She won't be seen wearing a golden necklace outside of formal occasions. Yet there's something off about her appearance, as if her beauty were a lure for a little bit of madness and neuroticism. She's often described as being cold and indifferent to anyone's feelings (anyone who is not Verano, of course).

She took long to mature, though. She has only been described as particularly attractive by the end of the First Arc. Yet her beauty only becomes obvious when she arrives in Alba almost a year later to rescue her trouble-loving brothers.

Marzia got her beauty from her mother Livia de Sforza, which was a beautiful spaniard princess that married the grim Duke Arnaud de Sforza.

Arnaud de Sforza Jr

I couldn't find the original source. But here's from where I got it: https://www.pinterest.es/pin/17381148532368978/

Arnaud is (unfairly) described as 'fatty' by half the cast. In these medieval times, it's not common to be in a good shape. Most people are scrawny, even the Fire Knights (Firebending burns a lot of calories! Pun intended!).

While Arnaud does eat a lot, he was only really fat before he started Firebending. Instead of spamming flames like most Firebenders, Arnaud can release insane amounts of energy in a single decisive blow. That means, of course, he has to eat.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

He has light eyes (just like Marzia) and he is not as tall as Verano. In many ways, Arnaud Jr is the spitted image of his father Duke Arnaud de Sforza - if only the man were much younger and joyful.

Giovanni (Real Surname Unknown)

The brilliant architect Giovanni is often described as a scrawny boy with soft features who could even pass as a girl if he did the right changes to his appearance. He often has a worried look on his face because of the amount of stupid people that he has around.

Giovanni has never described as having a scar, but being a non-bender in the middle of so many dangers, he probably has gotten one or two. We are not saying that they are Candorra's fault, but it's very likely that that is the case.

Candorra

Final Fantasy 14 Official Art.

Candorra has been described as a very aloof plate-haired tiny girl with fox traits. That is very specific, and I'd never find art for it. But the picture above illustrates her very well. Candorra is not a human, she is a Zigana: supposedly Airbenders who tried to cheat the Grey Guardian to steal his wine tribute and ended up being cursed. The mark of the curse are the animalesque traits (tail and ears) that expose their race and create a lot of distrust. Ziganos, per example, can't own land in the Empire of the Holy Flame; and they are always associated with trickery.

Candorra is also never clean. She's always getting in trouble and fleeing from someone (or somewhere). Most of the time, to be fair, she is the trouble. She always carries her iconic harp and haven't spent a scene without it. Her ears are often twitching because they are big and make her specially sensitive to the Song of the Wind (a breeze that is always crossing the Wild Lands and telling airbenders of what's happening around them).

Thyra

Incredibly accurate image.

Thyra rarely ever smiles. The characters grin and crack jokes a lot, but Thyra is either looking sad, or always looking like she'll eat Verano alive. Ironically, she has been described as having a beautiful (and clumsy) smile and as looking sweet and sensitive when she's not convincing herself to look cold and mean. She's also described as blushing sometimes when she is ashamed.

Yet her appearance is often of someone who is hurt. Because let's face it: she's always hurt. She has a beautiful blond hair and blue eyes, like most Northmen.

She often wears her hair as braided as possible, yet after the events of the 'Betrayal' chapter, it has become harder to find time to get that solved.

She probably looks ten years younger after a shower and months of vacations from the harsh life of being the Queen of a Tribe of the North Sea. To be fair, she has been through a lot. Maybe more than any other character.

Hagen, the Red Tide

Our Waterbender villain. The hardest picture to find.

First, Hagen is a REALLY buff guy. Our model (although authentic) would need to gain 90 pounds of muscle.

Second, where's the iconic green apple that he's always eating?

Third, why so serious? Hagen always has a sarcastic grin on his face. He only goes mad when someone questions him about his past. Or when he's being defeated.

Hagen has an iconic red hair and red beard, which inspired his nickname and the name of his warband (The Red Tide). His Waterbending is not like anything else: he cuts himself and fuses a water source with his own blood in order to acquire a better grasp of the water (and of course, frustrate all waterbenders who try bending the same source of water).
