The sun hung high in the sky, basking the purple meadows and the hillside village below in its soothing light. A courier entered a college and headed to the front desk. The courier reached into her courier bag and pulled out a small parcel, and went to hand it to the receptionist. But a sudden black blur raced between the two, greeting them with a strong blast of wind.
The courier squinted her eyes and looked down at her hands to see the parcel was gone. The courier darted her head around before she looked back at the receptionist.
"I take it that was a parcel for a Miss Maiza Noshia?" the receptionist asked. The courier gave a nervous nod in response to the question as her pantha-like tail curled up into a ball.
"Then you won't need to worry since that was her just now.". The courier let out a relieved sigh, and her tail slightly uncurled. The courier said she'll be on her way once she obtains a signature. The courier took a touchscreen phone-looking device out of her courier bag, but she was surprised to see it was already on and had a signature on the rectangle with the title confidential, in red text.
"Did... I already have a signature?" the courier thought as she scratched her ear.
Meanwhile, in a freakishly tidy bedroom with not even a speck of dust to be seen and with shelves covered in highly detailed painted sculptures of armoured knights/samurais from various regions/eras, a young adult male peacefully slept with an eye mask over his eyes in the practically pitch black room.
The door to the bedroom swung open, blasting a bright beam of light into the room, and shortly afterwards a short (no taller than a seven-year-old kid) tanned girl hopped into the room carrying an opened parasol. The girl flicked her slightly long curly, spikey golden and magenta hair out of her face, allowing her to see into the room with her golden left eye and silver right eye (both with metalic effects).
"Zaltaro! Zaltaro! It's arrived the-" Maiza blurted out in a fit of excitement as her super pointy ears wiggled, but stopped when she realised the guy sleeping in his bed was, in fact, still sleeping and also hadn't even reacted to the door being slammed open. Maiza pouted as she reached into her parcel.
A second later, the empty parcel flew across the room and landed on Zaltaro's face, but to no one's surprise, he still didn't react. Maiza sighed and slowly marched across the room until she arrived next to Zaltaro's bed.
"I didn't want to do this, but you've forced my hand," Maiza said with a monotone voice as she raised her free hand over her head before swinging her hand downwards. Her hand came rushing down before abruptly stopping above the alarm clock on Zaltaro's nightstand. Maiza poked the alarm clock and moved it half a millimetre. Zaltaro swung his body to an upright sitting position before grabbing the alarm clock and returning it to its correct position.
"What do you want, Maiza?" Zaltaro asked as Maiza hurried over to the window and pulled up the shuttered blind to cast out the last of the darkness lingering within Zaltaro's room, along with revealing Zaltaro: he was a fair-skinned young-looking adult; having dark purple and magenta hair with crystally tips along with a large white hair stripe.
"Isn't it obvious? The parcel arrived," Maiza stated with a monotone tone.
"Oh, good for you.". Zaltaro slowly lent backwards and layed back down on his back. Maiza let out a low unappreciative groan, and after a few seconds of doing it, Zaltaro sat back up. Zaltaro removed his eye mask and stared down Maiza with his baggy, silver eyes (they have a crystally effect).

"Yeesh...," Maiza uttered with a monotone voice as she looked at the bags under Zaltaro's eyes.
"How does a half-vampire even get that tired?".
"That's rich coming from Miss: my room's too far away from here so can I crash at your room," Zaltaro said before he raised an eyebrow, causing Maiza to do the same.
"What?". Maiza tilted her head and gave Zaltaro a puzzled look.
"What... are you wearing?". Maiza looked down at her fluffy black cat-themed onesie.
"Oh, this thing was the other thing that came in the parcel, but that's not what's important come look at this.". Maiza walked over to the workshop desk on the other side of the room and placed an old-looking rolled-up paper on it. Zaltaro groaned in frustration and removed his bedsheets, revealing he was wearing a super long black scale textured scarf with a golden end and some green shorts. Zaltaro rubbed his eyes as he walked over to Maiza and towered over her, thanks in part to her being so short, as he looked at the old-looking paper.
"Do you ever take that thing off?".
"Can you take your ears off?".
"Right... forgot it's a part of you, but at least my ears don't look like an article of clothing," Maiza said coldly. Maiza quickly grabbed the rolled-up paper and opened it up to reveal it was a collection of multiple pieces of paper. Maiza carefully spread all the old-looking papers on the desk so they were visible: one was a treasure map, another was some weird-looking magic circle with six tiles containing different insignia, and the rest were different crafting recipes for various magic-orientated professions.
Zaltaro picked up the paper with the magic circle and squinted his eyes at the insignias; one was a heart, one a skull, one a tile with fake writing on it and the space next to it torn up, and the other insignias were too damaged to be made out.
"Pretty cool, huh?" Maiza asked before Zaltaro handed her the paper with the magic circle on it.
"It's... something, but I doubt this is the actual reason you barged into my room.". Maiza lightly tapped the tips of her fingers together and looked from side to side.
"So... about that, I was wondering... if you'd like to come with me to the Harmonio Store so I can get these papers restored to a readable state," Maiza uttered meekly in her everpresent monotone voice, which caused Zaltaro to exhale mentally.
"And what made you think I'd want to go anywhere on the one day I don't have college or work?" Zaltaro asked. He looked down at Maiza and proceeded to tilt his head as Maiza stared back at him with big ol' puppy dog eyes. Zaltaro covered his face and groaned.
"Fine..., but there better be no shenanigans got it.". Maiza nodded her head with her expression back to her emotionless state before she quickly gathered up all her old-looking papers and booked it out of Zaltaro's room. Zaltaro sighed as he rubbed his head, and the tip of his scarf floated across the room like a snake and knocked the door shut.
"That onesie threw me through a loop; where does she even find those clothing with built-in hammerspace?".
A few seconds later, Zaltaro stepped out of his bedroom wearing his causal attire: a sleeveless black body spandex suit, white baggy jogging trousers, and golden getas. Zaltaro waited by his door for a few minutes before Maiza returned wearing her casual clothes: a large red witches hat with a neck strap, a large baggy black hoodie with cat ears, a wide red sports bra, red and grey striped leggings, and black cat-themed crocks.
"Sorry I took so long; I couldn't find my crocks would you believe I somehow left them in my hoodie?" Maiza said in her monotone voice. Zaltaro sighed, moved his scarf over his mouth and loudly yawned.
"Yeah-yeah, let's just get this poorly shrouded date over with," Zaltaro mumbled before he walked off. Maiza quietly stood by the bedroom door and lightly tapped her fingertips together.
"... at least he didn't seem to have any negative feelings towards it being a date," Maiza uttered. She faintly giggled and brushed off her clothes before she hurried after Zaltaro.
