The kingdom of Starfel was established by a grand mage, known throughout the world by the moniker of Magus, in the pursuit of harmony. In the world of Astorea there are many races holding their own status in most kingdoms and other races to which tread on separate planes from that of the commonwealth. The Tosertia kingdom mostly populated by humans with demi-human races such as the Elves, Dwarves, and Beastmen commonly seen as a lower . The Dwarven nation of Grimwar there is a general co-existence between Dwarves, Humans, and Beastmen. The Elven nation hold some of the same proclivities as that of the Human's however they tend to forgo enslavement of Dwarves and Beastmen claiming them to be to uncouth to serve even as slaves. The Beastmen have no true land to call their own. They are more of a nomadic faction spread out amongst the lands of the other three nations. Starfel resides within the boarders of Tosertia but ostracizes itself from the prejudices of the nation therefor unofficially deeming itself as its own kingdom. All races are welcome within the walls of Starfel as equal citizens. There is a social structure however, mage borne families are seen as nobility of Starfel in honor of its founder. Though there is a commonwealth and a nobility class within Starfel there is no disdain within the walls.

At first Starfel started as a small town on the edge of the three nations welcoming all who sought refuge from prejudices of the other nations. As the years went on the town grew to accommodate those that came. Eventually the small town grew into a keep, then further into a city. The city defenses also grew over time, originally not even having a wall around the town. But as Starfel grew so to did its tradesmen population. Woodworkers, blacksmiths, brewers, farmers, masons, and of course mages all began migrating towards Starfel in search of respite from various forms of oppression within the nation they came from. As the population of professional craftsmen grew Starfel went from a small defenseless town to a large town with a formidable palisade surrounding its outskirts, and gates facing each boarder to a nation. Starfel once again had to expand but this time however, the honorary ruler of starfel, having been appointed by the people of Starfel themselves, thought to the future and established a large scale project.

Realizing the potential of what The Magus had started he decided it was time to make this town into something everyone could be proud of. Starfel expanded its boarders by a few miles in each direction, this allowed Starfel to put up permanent defenses of masonry around the settlement. It also made plenty of room at the current population for farmers to keep their livelihoods safe within the walls. This wouldn't always be the case though. Time passed and the population continued to grow through migration as well as residents having families. Eventually Starfel's population outgrew the limits of it's walls. Farmers moved their trades back to the surrounding region of the city allowing more residential buildings to be made in the place of farmland. The old original housing of the town had been demolished the families more than happy to receive new renovated housing in return for the erection of Starfel Castle in the center of the thriving metropolis. Over seventeen centuries had passed since The Magus started the small town of Starfel allowing it to thrive into what was now its very own kingdom by sheer will of the people inhabiting it.
