Few days have passed since Vel completed his mission and the city was shocked but it quickly died down as they treated it as another day. But for Vel who been lacking sleep from the nightmares of killing him has been training like mad as to take his mind off of it.
“Vel you can’t keep going on like you have been” Leigh warned Vel as he watches him train and train.
“But his eyes haunt my dreams” Vel said with a small tear running down.
“You have two choices: Keep running away and let your fear consume you or face it and grow stronger” Leigh said forcing him to choose.
“How am I supposed to face it” Vel asked as he felt powerless against it.
“That for you to discover and remember how I told you about finding a relaxing hobby that might help” Leigh gave him some encouragement.
“So, if I find a hobby it may help” Vel asks with a hopeful face.
“How am I supposed to know that everybody has a different way of dealing with it” Leigh shakes his head.
“At least give me some ideas” Vel beg.
“What are some of your favorite things you like to do” Leigh asks.
“I like food, reading, and blacksmithing” Vel said.
“Then try them out and see how you feel afterward” Leigh said disappearing.
After Vel heard that he left his training ground but since he didn’t have much money he can’t going around eating or enter the town library since he looks like a beggar so it left him with only one option find a blacksmith willing to train him.
When Vel walked around looking at the blacksmiths in town and after seeing their work he was left disappointed as his father taught him how to judge the quality of their work.
“I wish I at least find a decent blacksmith around here” Vel mumbled as he continued his search but a dwarf passing nearby heard him.
“Hold it right there kid” he shouts toward Vel causing him to jump.
“What can I help you with sir” Vel said with the manners that Leigh taught him saying an assassin needs to blend in anywhere and not stick out.
“Why do you say these blacksmiths aren’t decent” He question Vel.

“Look at this shop best weapon on display the mixed metal is off causing the sword to be extremely fragile which would break after few hits” Vel said pointing at the sword in the window.
“You could tell that by just looking” the dwarf looked shocked as only a dwarf with years of experiences just might be able to pull it off but in front of him a kid who looks eight was doing it.
“Yeah my father was a blacksmith and he made me learn all sorts of thing like how to judge a sword with a look or how to run the furnace saying it will come in handy in the future” Vel said remember helping out in their little shop.
“I would like to meet him” the dwarf asks.
“He died like everyone else from my village” Vel said with cold and distant eyes that should not belong to him which ran shiver down the dwarf spine.
“Sorry bring that up but what are you doing walking around and is their anyone taking care of you” the dwarf couldn’t help but asked.
“I’m looking for a blacksmith who has decent talent and willing to teach me” Vel said before getting ready to continue his search.
When the dwarf saw Vel getting ready to depart he made a quick decision he wanted to teach this boy.
“I will be willing to teach you if your willing” he asks which caught Vel by surprised as he didn't expect him to be a blacksmith.
“But what should I call you and how can you prove that you’re really a blacksmith” Vel asks.
“You can call me Jotol the blacksmith and will this prove it” he pulls out a knife which is blue.
“Is this made with Sky metal which is said one of the hardest to work with” Vel look at the knife amazed.
“You bet but if willing to learn you can do it two with ease” the dwarf said with persuasion.
“How should I call you” Vel asks.
“Hmm…how about teacher Jotol” he said.
“Vel greets you teacher” Vel bowed to him.
“Great follow me” Jotol said leading his way to his shop which is hidden if you don’t know your way around.
“Welcome to my shop you can also stay here if you want in the spare room” Jotol gave a quick tour around the building.
The building looks to be in good condition but little worn from years and weather. The entrance filled with weapons of all kinds ranging from swords, sabers, battle axes, and much more but the shocking thing was they were all made with Sky metal.
“Did you furnace all these” Vel asks after seeing all theses weapons and the quality of the work as these were even greater than his father who work was legendary.
“You said your father was blacksmith how does my work compared to his” Jotol asked as the boy father couldn’t be a normal blacksmith.
“If I remember correctly his most known work was called ‘Space Splitter’” Vel remember being told about it.
“Would his name happen to be Zero” Jotol almost collapsed when he heard that weapon name.
“How you know” Vel looked at him confused.
“Well, he learned blacksmithing from me when he was a child and became quite famous as even royalty wanted him but he disappeared” Jotol said being up his old memories.
“But you don’t look to be that old” Vel ask as Jotol looked to be around forty with a long black beard with few grays.
“Don’t judge on looks I’m already over hundred” Jotol laugh as dwarf usually lives for few hundred years.
“What over hundred” Vel felt that was a long time since he not even nine yet.
“Well show me all that he taught you” Jotol said.
“He taught me all the knowledge on how to identify metals ores and judging quality of the weapon but also how to run the furnace” Vel said.
“So he taught you all that must have been thinking about bring you over to learn in few years” Jotol said getting an idea on where to start.
“Now that I know where to start let's get started” Jotol said switching on the furnace.
