RUBBING DOWN

RUBBING DOWN

The two spots if suction bared down on my soul, and I was surprised at how little pressure they exerted on me.

Unlike before when it was all I could do to hold on, I just felt a dull consistent pull on my consciousness, but like dripping water piercing through rock, the pressure was growing, I intended to let it, all part of my master plan you see.

I let myself go, almost drawing myself into those two infinitely dark points in my soul, that now that I was closer looked suspiciously like eyes. They seemed aware but felt drowsy, their very nature working against them, perhaps this was the reason I could steal those memories?.

An instinct inside me held me back from fighting against the horrifying building pressure as that suction began drawing in my soul, ripping long pieces in its now very durable fabrics.

I realised the reason I got so much benefits from the last eye, why I drew in so much of those dreams fragments was because I was essentially assimilated with those points of suction.

A predatory nature had been awakened in my soul, and I didn’t want any single morsel of this delightful meal to escape my clutches. So I lay still, as I was devoured, burst of pain coming in increasingly savage waves, I stayed still. My soul groaning under the torture, little sparks of light escaping the tattered surface, I stayed still. My consciousness dimming to single points of lights yet, I stayed still. Until I had a sense of satisfaction from those points. I smiled

“THOU ART MINE"

A black hand that could hold all of creation grasped both points of force at once and drew.

An unearthly shriek of rage bellowed from some distant place. Nothing mattered to me however, the sweet rain of memories poured into that six mystical golden drop of blood, with little guidance from me.

They drank deeply from the memories sucking in every drop of dreams, as the horrifying shriek of some massive creature faded slowly.

The six drops of blood vibrated intensely, so much they tore little rivets in my heart, which healed a moment later from the sheer life force flowing in my veins, a storm seemed to be brewing inside the drops, chief among them was the one I will be calling golden one. He always drew the bigger share and was the steadier of all, hardly vibrating as it processes the enormous amount of memories. It settled, already done. The others five blood drops struggling to catch up. I could have sworn it yawn with boredom, reminding me of Henry. Who’s Henry?.

The other drop soon settled, and I waited in tense anticipation of the coming flood, my body was already filled, but my soul was so... so hungry. It began, but unlike before the drops seemed to have learned and did not flood my system, they released the pulse of colourless vitality In single clear streams, six lines of oh so sweet goodness Into my soul.

my soul took it all in, my harvest this time was not two times richer it was tens of times richer, vast wave of memories that span time and space, a compendium I could hardly comprehend mushed together and the golden blood in a mystical process took their essence and made it mine.

My soul state if I was to describe it had always been ephemeral like mist, yet still held terrifying binding abilities. Holding memories, emotions, and experiences fast to itself. But now with the infusion of these streams of vitality? Honestly I didn’t know what this was. It poured into the mist making it expand and coloured it the shade of gold, it became thicker and glinted with deeper hues, it reach a certain point and when I thought my soul could not handle any more, it transformed.

It drew the mesh of my soul closer, and the golden mist formed tighter bonds. It gave a pulse that sounded eerily similar to the pulse the dark arm gave as it consumed my world and the mist compressed tighter. From the compressed mist, golden dew like drops formed.

In slowly but ever increasing speed more and more drops congealed and soon the golden drops came down in a torrent, roaring down in the space of my consciousness, the streams of vitality increased and the flood of golden soul matter came down faster, until my very consciousness thundered with the sounds of crashing mountains_ so heavy was the deluge.

Finally all the gaseous mist were transformed.

If my soul was a river, than it strained at her banks, it had been filled up and laps at the edge of my consciousness, massive waves rippling over the surface. The matter of my soul filled to the brim, yet the streams of vitality from the drops did not end.

Slowly the stream took on the consistency of mercury, the flow of the surging golden River grew sluggish as it slowly hardened up. And it slowly folded up into itself .

in a while my soul glinted like pearls with a solidity of diamond. I was unsure if this was how a soul was ever suppose to be.

If I tried to visualise it, my soul had undergone a tremendous transformation, if it was like a gaseous stream before, now it was like chiselled bricks. And it took the shape of a sphere, that were covered in light gold scales when closely observed.

I thought I felt a brief burst of heat inside it, I took my time searching, but I saw nothing, my soul was an undiscovered territory to me, it was small, yet seemed so vast.

I suddenly felt a wave of tiredness fall on me, and I drifted back into my body.

My eyes shot open, and I saw two golden suns.

“you have to ask for permission first,” I whispered to the uncomfortable close Zarathul, if he was aware of my quip he gave no response, only staring intensely at me for long uncomfortable moments, he straightened back up and walked to the side.

Laying down I tested each of my limbs, they raced to answer my beckoning. Each nerves, sinews and joints pulsing with rich life force, I felt a drop of my blood could bring life to stone. This body felt different from all the other I had inhabited, a weird train of thought, but I had no memories to back up that assumption. I stood up instantly, sending dim lifeless gems flying out.. my sudden eruption drew winds around me, as my hair flew around like snow__ dreadful thing, I will have to cut it short.

I walked slowly towards Zarathul who had his back to me, his arms folded behind him, more quickly than anticipated I adapted to my body, the feeling of making the right movements, arching my shoulders a little to the left as I stepped with my right feet, hell.. even breathing was coordinated with my steps, making it all click together, and I practically glide towards him.

I threw little jabs at the air, my fist a blur. I jumped and turned in the air like a ballerina, making four rotations before I stepped lightly on the ground with a single toe, my hair trailing behind the wind like clouds of mist.

After the agony of the shedding, to be this free and light was intoxicating, my grace carried an enormous strength that baffled me. My exuberant movement however brought about winds and that brought chills, which didn’t bother me much, but my face still went pink with shame. I sighed “the things that still bother me.”

I stood behind Zarathul, “can you help me with clothes?”.. I shivered a little from the winds blowing against my naked skin. I imagined my shame like group of little pixies dancing around my body.

“Why hatchling?, you do not need it. Basic temperature differences stopped being an issue for you after your third shedding.”

“But indecency is still a sore point for me!” I pointed out.

“indecent?” “to whom?”. “You are tinier than a speck of dust.” He turned to face me, and I was sucked into the glow of his eyes, my consciousness was drawn into his gaze and I saw a piece of eternity. He opened himself to me and I knew the presence before me was vast, and the Zarathul I was seeing was a tiny part of his being, like a mountain hidden in a dark sea, only the tip shown, but what was beneath was fathomless. I fell on my knees, breathing in short burst, standing next to him now felt I was beneath the gaze of a chain of mountains.

The weight lifted and he regarded me and the lines in his face softened a little “ you may be all but dust, but what a magnificent one you are. Glory in your beauty that shook creation. Ha, you have exceed my expectations by far hatchling!”

I stared at him dumbfounded “eh.. thanks, I guess". Zarathul paused and he looked at me

“you have no idea of what you have done, you went beyond a perfect shedding and ripped the eye off of the sleepless.”

“um... so that what those are_ eyes of the sleepless." I scratched my head “I took three of those"

Zarathul stumbled. And his look transformed from admiration, shock and then horror.
