Lauren was bewildered. " You want to learn magic?" Lauren repeated and Asher nodded, affirming what Lauren just said.
" I am in a strange world and you clearly said those people aren't ordinary and I have to be above ordinary to survive In this strange world." Asher explained but he was stunned when Lauren laughed at his explanation.
" And what's funny?" Asher said.
" You are really new to this world… People like that are really rare and everywhere in this world is actually peaceful and magic is not so easy to learn, it's something few organisations can allow you to learn. They would provide resources to enable you to learn because magic requires a lot of resources." Lauren explained.
" But that still doesn't change me checking the magic books you have, right?"
" No."
" But this takes me back to what they said I stole, that thing must be really important for them to chase me here." Asher said.
" Yes. I wonder what you stole." Lauren added.
" So tell me about this place called Earth… please." Asher said.
" I don't have time to sit here and tell you about Earth where I have lived for fifty years." Lauren suddenly said and Asher's heart sank.
" Why?" Asher couldn't help but blurt out.
" I don't have time." Lauren said and she stood up, Asher also stood up, towering over her.
" So you won't tell me about this place." Asher said.
" I would but I can do that as you work for me." Lauren said and she placed her hands on her waist.
" Work for you? What do you do?" Asher asked.
" I am obviously a farmer!" Lauren said, exasperated.
" I am new in this world, what does farming mean?" Asher asked and Lauren couldn't help but cover her face with her hands, frustrated.
" That's true… I forgot that. You will learn as you work." Lauren said and she walked out of the room and Asher sighed as he walked behind her. Asher couldn't help but marvel at the size of the house, the living room was big and it had a lot of framed pictures hanging around. He also saw the dining room and he saw the kitchen emitting a nice aroma but he was soon led out of the house and he couldn't help but feel awe. He saw the trees that had beautiful leaves of different colours and he saw different birds of different colours, the sun that burned his skin slightly and he loved the environment so much that he couldn't help but exclaim.
" Woah! This place is really beautiful." Asher said, still awe struck.
" Really? I have lived here for twenty years and I have never considered it to be beautiful." Lauren said out of nowhere and it snapped Asher out of his awe.
" Your old eyes wouldn't appreciate something this beautiful." Asher responded with a sneer.
" You this piece of shit!" Lauren said and she took a stone from the ground and she threw it at Asher and he caught the stone effortlessly midair before hitting him.
" You didn't put enough force, old girl." Asher teased but Lauren didn't respond, she just walked on and she led him to a large piece of land.

" Why are we here?" Asher asked because all he could see was a large piece of land that he couldn't see the end of with weed all over it.
" Wait, before you answer me… how do you know my name is Asher?" Asher asked.
" I just named you Asher." Lauren said, nonchalant.
" You named me?" Asher repeated with colour drained of his face.
" Yes I did, you didn't have one and you needed one then, so I just named you after my cat that died years ago." Lauren said and Asher almost burst out cursing this woman, she named him after a dead cat! Who does that? But he actually liked the name, so he would just have to go on with it.
" Do you have any problem with the name?"
" No."
" Great. So I want you to get rid of all the weeds all over this field. " Lauren announced and Asher frowned immediately.
" Everything? How do you expect me to do that?" Asher immediately retorted with anger, this woman is really getting on his nerves.
" Do you want to do it or should I keep my books and my detailed knowledge about this world to myself?" Lauren asked with a mischievous smile on her lips.
" Okay, I would do it." Asher said and he caught the cloth that Lauren threw to him, he wore the cloth immediately.
" So the tools are over there, get to work and I will come get you for lunch." Lauren said and she walked inside her house. Asher looked around and Lauren's house was the only house he saw, where were they staying? He couldn't help but ask himself, maybe Lauren lived at the extreme end of this world, far away from everyone, Asher gave himself a silly answer and he reluctantly got to work. As he worked on the field, he thought about what Lauren told him about magic, he wanted to learn magic and get strong, the past owner of this body messed with people that had magic, solving the problem must require magic. He had different thoughts as he worked but he didn't try to think about his lost memories. Later on, Lauren came out of the house and she loudly announced that lunch was ready, Asher smiled and he walked in the house with his drenched cloth. He didn't see Lauren in the dining room but he saw a lot of dishes on the table and three tables surrounding the table. He approached a chair and he sat on one, expecting Lauren.
" Asher… get out of here and go take a shower!" Lauren said as she walked into the dining room, placing a bowl on the table.
" Where is your bathroom?" Asher asked grudgingly as he stood up.
" Follow me, let me show you." Lauren said and she led him to the bathroom.
" Do you have clothes for me to wear?" Asher asked.
" Yes… my son left a few at home… I would prepare it and bring it to you." Lauren said and she walked away, towards to eat her food. As she ate her food, she heard Asher suddenly call out her name, she rushed to the bathroom to see what happened and when she got there, she saw Asher standing at the bathroom entrance, stark naked without any shame. Lauren quickly turned around as her face burned red, she covered her face with her palm.
" Can't you even get dressed?" Lauren asked.
" I am yet to take my bath… something broke here and I want you to come check it out." Asher said and he moved closer to Lauren.
" And why are you not looking at me? Did I do something wrong?" Asher said as he placed his hand on Lauren's shoulder.
" Yes! You are doing something wrong! Get a cloth or something to cover yourself." Lauren managed to say as she wiggled out of Asher's grip.
" Oh, that." Asher said, nonchalant and he walked into the bathroom, coming out seconds later with a table poorly tied around his waist.
" You can look at me now." Asher announced and Lauren slowly turned to look at him.
" You don't even know how to tie a towel." Lauren said with a sigh.
" Can you teach me? Or just show me." Asher said innocently but Lauren's face just flushed in response.
" Get out of my way." Lauren said as she entered the bathroom, pushing Asher out of the way. Lauren opened her mouth in surprise, with her face flushed with anger as she turned to look at Asher that stared back at her with an innocent look.
" You just broke my shower!" Lauren shouted as she ran towards Asher, throwing flurry blows at him that Asher didn't dodge. He didn't know what he did, that made her this angry, this old woman really has anger issues, Asher thought.
Minutes later, Asher was sitting by the dining table, eating, clad with a cloth that managed to cover his chest and muscles and a pant trouser that fit him well. Asher really enjoyed the food and he couldn't help but rain compliments on Lauren but Lauren just ignored him as she ate her food. Asher finally asked her what he did.
" You broke the shower and I would have to call a plumber from the city to fix it which will cost me money. " Lauren said.
" Oh. I am sorry." Asher said.
" I didn't know that I would spoil it, I should have asked you how to use it correctly." Asher said sincerely, Lauren just nodded her head as she was deep in thoughts. She didn't know that living with someone that had no memories would be this costly, her thoughts were stopped when she heard a loud crash, when she checked it, Asher just broke a plate.
