The Strange Planet - January 2200 - Vega
We waited patiently within the shuttle as we came closer and closer to entering the atmosphere of the discovered planet. The Planet itself looked beautiful from the outside. It was a luscious green planet surrounded by water. The Greens and light browns on the surface made for a strange, yet breathtaking sight. I even took fondly of the white ends of the planet, and how they shined brightly. Me and Verinity watched impatiently as the shuttle began to enter the atmosphere at long last. The ship began to accelerate rapidly whilst maintaining speeds capable of safe landing.
The outside of the ship began to become hotter and hotter, leading to a slight warp in the shell of the ship, which caused it to accelerate past landing speeds. We needed to slow down to land safely. We switched the ship over to manual, flipping the jets backward to create negative force, slowing the ship back down. We grew closer and closer to the ground, and finally we landed. The ship doors opened slowly, allowing the blinding light from the sun to hit us head on. I noticed how Verinity sparkled in the sunlight, and it allowed me to see her in a new light. She was somehow even more beautiful than artificial light had portrayed before. We got off the ship and guided the workers into the luscious new planet. The green flora felt strange underneath the padding of my feet. It almost tickled as I traversed the surface of this beautiful planet.
Verinity looked around at the creatures that lived. One such creature with a long tail and four legs trotted up before punching down, hissing, and running off. It seemed as though our presence had held some kind of fear and terror into the creatures around us. Nevertheless, this world seemed to be a great place to call home. The sounds of nature flooding the silence, bringing peace and tranquility alongside it. We tested the flora, finding as many uses as we could for the strange, yet wonderful planet we had come across.
We found medicinal properties, and even recreational uses for some plants, and some bodily fluids the animals made. A white substance came from a strange creature. It was large, Some were brown, some were black, and some were white with black spots. They had strange feet as well, they were almost like rocks that they stood on, and they walked on 4 legs, just like the animal that had hissed at Verinity. The substance came from one of the 4 protrusions that came from underneath the strange creature, and tasted strange, but good.
Soon after exploring for a bit, a worker noticed another creature. A tall, seemingly sentient being. They walked on two legs and had scarcely any hair, except for on their head. We went to greet the strange creature, but we couldn’t understand it. It released this strange high pitched noise which frightened some of the workers. Before long we noticed another group of them with black armor and strange looking weapons coming toward us. I pulled out the translator and held it to my mouth. The creatures immediately raised their weapons to point at me before I spoke into it.
“Who are you?” I spoke, as it translated into a language completely unfamiliar to me. It contained a strange amount of groans, and much fewer clicks and screeches.
The creature spoke, and the translator replied.
“We are the UGDF, we were the ones who received your transmission. Why have you come to Earth, what is it you want from us?”
“We are the Insydians, we are in search of a planet of which we may call home, considering our other planet was destroyed by our previous queen’s carelessness.” I replied, trying to remain neutral, yet kind.
“Well then, welcome to Earth. We’ll reserve an area for you at this time, but We need to know if we will be visited by the rest of the fleet or not.” The creature replied.
“We will make reports to our queen, and she will decide if this planet is suitable to sustain our needs.” I replied.
Soon after the confrontation, the strange creatures left. We continued to scan wildlife and made notes on our surroundings. We began creating a hive for ourselves, creating tunnels that dug deep within the ground. We lived comfortably, scavenging for food, digging deeper tunnels, and creating space for ourselves. We began reinforcing walls with wood mixed with our venom, which turned out to be a very inexpensive and convenient way to make Resygnium. We started to branch out, and our population began to grow within our colony we had named Ortanica.
It became a very diverse habitat, and we sent logs of our progress to the Queen, who soon decided to come to the planet. They had begun working on a jet engine capable of moving the motherships at speeds close to our shuttles. We had been informed that they had planned on reaching the solar system within the next 2 years. We became overrun with joy. Our queen had seen our work and had seen how the other Insydians could survive on this planet themselves. We began to continue with the increase of population on this planet, of which the local population has called “Earth”. The size of our undercity began to increase in size, stretching out over the entire territory which we had been permitted, being 5,000 square miles.

Eventually our population grew to contain 5,000 total. I eventually gained the rank of Drone, and Verinity became a soldier. These were the highest ranks of our civilization currently. A few months passed and the weather became colder, and solidified white rain had come from the clouds above, powdering the ground with a thick layer of “Snow”. We had begun learning the human language, of which the humans had named “English”. We made more and more discoveries, as the humans had made advancements in civilization we hadn’t even thought of.
We learned the wonders of entertainment, and tested multiple recreational drugs, tasted new foods made with the flora and fauna of the world, and even learned about this fascinating drink called “Soda”. We had begun making a bond with the human race, which led to our own inventions. We created masks with built in translators, which allowed us to communicate with the humans easier. We made great advancements in our relations with the humans, but yet some still resented us for our looks and made strange remarks. Many humans took to calling us “Ant-fuckers”. We had no idea what ants were until we made the discovery. They were these tiny little bugs who ate leaves and bark.
August 2200
The humans never stopped their malicious and bigoted actions. They became much more hostile with not only their words, but some would shoot workers from a few miles away. We had to make exceptions to the peace treaty we had signed with the UGDF, and we began killing those who brought harm to our people. We contacted the UGDF to discuss this issue, and they passed a law which gave us citizenship, as long as we only harmed humans who harmed us. This lasted for a few months before entire groups of people began throwing things at our homes. Some were wearing these ridiculous tin foil hats which they argued, “Kept us from reading their mind”. We began to notice exactly how dangerous and unreasonable some of the human population really was. After a long day of watching over our capital undercity, Verinity and I finally had time to relax.
“Why do these humans give us so much trouble? Don’t they understand that we’re trying to survive just as they are?” Verinity cried, stressed from the attacks.
“The Queen’s heard about the human attacks already, she plans to start war if this issue isn’t resolved soon.” I replied, charging my electroglaive.
She embraced me, placing her head on my chest. I sat with her for a while as we watched the night sky. Somehow, even with knowing the dangers nearby, they never faltered on this planet’s beauty. It was almost as though the beautiful nature overcame its own horrors. The trees blew gracefully in the wind, as deer ran in the distance. We seemed to fit somehow, even if we looked like larger versions of the smallest critters we find in our undercity. Somehow, I felt free.
The next morning, our sleep was interrupted by gunshots. The workers fled into the holes one by one, chaos erupting within the northern quadrant of the undercity. Alarms blared and drones began to swarm out of the hive. The watchers and overseers were called to guard the main entrances, and I hurried myself out of the hammock. I powered the electroglaive and ran to the main entrance. When we emerged, we were met with war. A group of humans flying a strange flag fired guns towards us, pelting drones with lead and fire. Drones fell left and right, and the watchers stood firm against the raid. Bottles of fire exploded into bursts of flames near the entrance, lighting some of our forces on fire. The nauseating smell of burning flesh filled the air as I watched a drone turn into a pile of charcoal.
The drones fought back, turning humans into dust with fusion powered assault rifles, and others were cut in half with electroglaives. Blood was spilled across the grass, and severed limbs laid still among the branches. Both humans and Insydians alike fell prey to the bloodshed. Fueled by hatred, the humans didn’t stop at drones. Workers fleeing from their posts became prey to their racist violence. We managed to fend the Humans off, but not without loss. We informed our queen of the treason against our people. Her reply came quickly.
“It’s time we stopped playing nice with the humans. Warn the human forces that if their civilians continue their attacks, we will declare war on their race.” Queen Renagnon claimed
We did as she asked. As soon as we could, we summoned the UGDF to our undercity. We brought him into the undercity, with protection from both UGDF and Insydian guards. The workers were riled up from the recent attack, but the watchers kept them in check, threatening a week in the hole if they harmed our guests. The hole was a type of prison we created, essentially it was a deep hole of which you had a certain amount of time you had to remain within. Once your sentence was over, you were forced to climb out of the hole. Many workers made it out, but some were too weak to make the journey. We guided the UGDF ambassador into the dining hall, as the workers prepared a feast. Commander Gamma sat on the opposite end, and began negotiations.
“I’m sure you likely know why you’re here, sir.” Claimed the commander.
“That I do, commander. I’ve been informed that your people intend to declare war against us if we don’t get our civilians in check.” The ambassador said.
“Indeed, sir. The motherships will reach Earth in less than a year, so you have until January of 2201 to pacify the civilians. Does that seem fair?” The commander asked.
“Very. However, the main issue we’ll have is if we begin violence against the rioters. We’d be dealing with our own problems within the congress, not to mention severe backlash from the public media. There’s a possibility that the civilians will be unwilling to cooperate, and at that point the issue would be out of our hands.” The ambassador explained.
“Unfortunately sir, we cannot allow your civilians to attack us without retaliation. We’ll likely be wiped out before we can negotiate with the public figure.” The commander said.
“Very well. I’ll take my leave then, commander. Thank you for your hospitality.” The ambassador said
The ambassador left with haste, being escorted by the UGDF. The commander left the dining hall, and made his way to the center of the hive. He entered the chambers and proceeded to contact Queen Renagnon.
“My queen, the negotiations were unsuccessful. The human forces have little control over their civilians, and seem unwilling to halt their attacks. How should we proceed, your majesty?” Commander Gamma asked.
“We will proceed with the declaration of war. Thank you commander. You are dismissed.” Queen Renagnon replied.
“Yes your majesty.” Commander Gamma proclaimed.
Commander Gamma made his way into the Barracks, and announced the declaration of war to the Drones. Verinity and I were anxious. We hadn’t seen war in the entirety of our time in the open sky, and we feared what may come of it. If our planet was destroyed simply from our power sources, what would become of the planet if we used our weapons of war?
