It was the smell that woke him up, a smell like the decomposition of something that had been wholly unsavory even in life. He combed his fingers through his thick hair as his mind lifted out of the fog of despair, coming into focus upon seeing the carcass. He scanned for others, but saw none. Everything else looked normal. The trees were already tinged with crimson, proudly showing off their new mantle in the light breeze. The night was getting colder, it wouldn't be long before he froze to death.

Having spent most of his life in the woods, Blaze knew all the plants-if not by name, by sight. From when Blaze was very small, his master Joel had taken him along, hunting for special herbs. He had shown Blaze which ones to look for, where they grew and why, and put names to everything they saw. Many times they just trained, the old man treated him as a tool, The old man only taught him things he needed to survive, blend in and kill,he had seen different animals and demons but he had never seen a creature like this.

This type of injury, though, he had seen only once before, and not in the woods. He had found his target dead with his stomach and its contents missing . His target a trader had traveled often, looking for the chance exotic or rare item. People of means had often sought him out, interested in what he might have turned up. It seemed to be the looking, more than the finding, that he had liked, as he had always been happy to part with his latest discovery so he could be off after the next, it all changed when he successfully captured a level 2 silver pine the government requested for him to give it to them but he refused, that's why the government sent me to terminate the trader and retrieve the silver pine, the silver pine was a giant wolf standing over 12ft tall with silver fur and four eyes it's speed was the reason it was considered a level 2 demon. That mission was the worst in his career even with his skills he could barely keep up with the escaped silver pine ,he lost both arms in the fight , the silver pine escaped with no injuries. The government calls them demons but no one knows what the creatures really are, the first mutant ever recorded appeared in California sky ,going on a rampage, it was over 200ft tall with three heads nicknamed Cerberus , after a battle involving half of the city with a death toll in the millions the government finally authorized the use of jaegers , giant humanoid shaped robots with the fire power of a battle ship the creature was killed but the body disappeared .

He walked over to the carcass It looked human over 10ft tall with red skin, after inspecting the carcass he knew it was the work of a silver pine and he became scared, he was in its territory , his senses where telling him to run and look for shelter against his better judgment, he gave in to the whispers in his mind, he unsheathed his katana , he then sat down and waited for the silver pine maybe he wanted to die he really didn't know, but one thing he know was that his blood was boiling for a fight something he never experienced before. He never felt excited when he killed, whenever he unsheathed a blade or held a weapon all his emotions were toned down it was kill or be killed, so when he felt excited when he held muramasa(name of his katana) he knew dyst had done something to him and wasn't to happy about it.

He tried to meditate and found something strange he could feel a pulsating energy near his heart and a hole in his mind , when he touched the energy it opened washing over his body strengthening his body 'that must be my mana' , he spent hours trying to understand the vacuum in his mind but was unsuccessful. He was a patient man so he continued.

The sounds of the forest fell dead still. Blaze looked up, flinching as a dark shadow swept over the ground, leaping across limbs and leaves. There was a rushing, whistling sound in the air overhead. The size of the shadow was frightening. Birds burst from cover in the trees, giving alarm calls as they scattered in all directions. Richard peered up, searching through the gaps in the canopy of green and gold, trying to see the shadow's source. He knew his enemy was here , he never forgot the pain of losing his arms and the pain of using his life savings to pay to clone and reattach them, he would make this silver pine pay for its brethren's sin, he didn't know how but he knew he would survive.

The wolf jumped down from the canopy circling its prey it knew it had to be sure his opponent was weaker than him before he attacked , its prey was 6ft 2 with white hair and piercing red eyes the rest of his face was covered by a mask he wore leather pants his upper half nude with strange drawings on it, the hairless beast man (blaze) gave of an excited scent and also fear, it could smell smell the fear , it loved the smell of fear the beast man was no threat it crouched down and lounged at its prey .
