Space Storm

W.I.L.

Considering that she just got out of the gestational chamber, W.I.L was not surprised that she was not accustomed to her body yet. She was still not used to standing up or even walking for that matter.

Even though her brain contained a regaleplex of data or knowledge uploaded by her creator; the Supreme Ruler, which allowed her to understand the mechanics of her body. However, it didn't necessarily mean that her body could function so easily without first experiencing a trial and error phase.

She was newly formed. A newborn who still needed a step by step process to sit up, stand and walk.

At the moment, she struggled to walk alongside her companions who had by now adjusted to the gravitational environment with their bipedal bodies.

Despite the fact that she was no longer naked and cold, her legs were still so weak that two of the space wyvernmen beside her had to support most of her weight and assist her to walk.

Fortunately, they had already reached the place where the Metamorphosis portal was. A doorway where her companions would have to shed their bipedal figures and exchange it for their original tailed and winged forms.

The four came to a complete halt in front of the portal. She noted the dancing and pulsing blue light from the doorway where she heard a faint buzzing sound.

"W.I.L., go ahead and dematerialize so that you can be integrated into the beast ship's interface before we leave."

Her HUD indicated that the one who had spoken was the Supreme Ruler. The overseer of Nyptherium and the one who created her.

Alexvladryl I. The first of his Donor Line.

So she followed his order.

"Understood, Supreme Ruler," She replied in a monotonous tone. Her expression remained impassive while she unslung her arms from the other space wyvernmen beside her and stepped forward carefully.

Afterward, she reached behind her ears to trigger the hidden mechanism that would make her shift into a figure made of photons. The other form she was capable of doing. The form that would enable her to merge with the programming of the ship's interface.

It was a holographic body and consciousness to partly control the beast ship.

"And W.I.L... Once you have merged with the ship, immediately set course for the Forbidden Galaxy," The Supreme Ruler commanded her.

W.I.L was swift to note the strange expressions of the other two space wyvernmen when they exchanged glances.

"The Forbidden Galaxy? But isn't that place that the Mata had ordered the Brotherhood not to explore?" Lavarugh - the space wyvernman with the turquoise hair - asked.

"Yes," the Supreme Ruler said.

"Why are we going to a place that is forbidden?"

"Because it's the only galaxy that the Mata considered as anomalous. More than that, I am certain that the Mata won't send anyone to follow us there once it figures out what we did."

"You are right about that. The Mata would never order for any of our brothers to go to a place that is forbidden." Dragorovitch voiced out.

"We should keep it in mind that the Mata has not been telling us the whole truth, like the Woman's Lost Codex hidden in the Junk Core. So we must consider the possibility that the Mata has the same reason why it has kept us from the Forbidden Galaxy. It's keeping certain knowledge from surfacing. But let us discuss this matter later on and keep moving." The Supreme Ruler addressed her soon after. ''W.I.L, the rest of us will be in cryogenic sleep once we get inside the ship. So I want you to monitor us while we are in cryo during our entire journey once we leave the Corrupted Sector and soon the Nexi Galaxy."

"Yes, Supreme Ruler," W.I.L. managed to say just as she could feel the cold and prickling sensation all throughout her figure, which could only mean that she was starting to dematerialize. From a body made of matter, W.I.L. would soon have a body made of light and data which allowed her to merge with the ship's holographic system.

The progress was slow going. It did not go as swiftly as the space wyvernmen when they would regain their tailed and winged figures through the metamorphosis portal.

It took a minute for her to gradually become a hologram when her body dematerialized.

As she slowly transformed, W.I.L watched as the three space wyvernmen stepped into the metamorphosis portal and started their own transformation.

She noted the grimaces on their faces when they changed their forms. The Supreme Ruler's rainbow wings slowly shimmered into existence and fluttered while his legs quickly changed into a wyvern tail.

Afterward, they all began to ascend towards the ship and the Supreme Ruler turned to her for the last time.

"W.I.L, you go transfuse yourself into the beast ship and prepare the cryogenic pods," The Supreme Ruler said to her and W.I.L simply nodded her head right before she leapt into the ship's stream of consciousness after tangling with its light frequency.

They were nearing their destination, which was the Forbidden Galaxy.

Meanwhile, W.I.L. kept a vigilant eye on her companions who had immediately entered a cryogenic sleep the moment she set the course for the Forbidden System, which had taken two yolk years through Dark Matter Spacing.

Now, plugged into the beast ship, she had divided her attention between carefully monitoring her charges while she explored the regaleplex of knowledge in her mental capacitor all throughout their journey.

Using the ship's holographic display, she viewed the history of the Brotherhood, where she learned that The Brotherhood of Space Wyvernmen were a metamorphosed species of only men who developed their iridescent wings and wyvern tails once they reach adulthood, which usually happened every thousand yolk years.

They mostly inhabit the Nexi Galaxy with the interacting galaxy of the Corrupted Sector, where the Purifiers and other Bipedal humanoids lived.

Other than that, Space Wyvernmen were produced through gestation chambers in mass. The same as the Purifiers. The difference was that wyvernmen were a species who could synthesize dark matter, which helped them navigate through space easily without the need of oxygen to breathe. They were also divided by Pods. These consisted of wyvernmen from the same Donors Lines; a term for those with the same genetic makeup in their blood.

Meanwhile, the Purifiers were a peaceful species when compared to the war-like breed of space wyvernmen. The Purifiers were also responsible for purifying and archiving defective space wyvernmen at the Garden of Lameera.

After the Supreme Ruler had taken the woman's Lost Codex from the Junk Core and created W.I.L, she understood that she was the only one of her kind. A woman Purifier with Holo capability. A new type of Purifier who is part Human and part AI, but instead of transforming into a wyvern form, W.I.L. was only able to change into a Hologram with certain advanced features.

However, she was more AI than human, whose sole purpose was to serve the Supreme Ruler and fulfill their mission in seeding a planet with new species that were not defective and didn't need purifying.

As for the Mata - the Super Artificial Intelligence that ruled the Nexi Galaxy - W.I.L. learned that it had recently been conducting Genocidal Waves, which killed millions of space wyvernmen.

She concluded that the Mata was doing the systematic genocide to purge the Brotherhood of any defects and to dump those who failed the High Consciousness test. The test that would ensure the continuity of only wyvernmen with higher intellects within the Pods.

As W.I.L continued to go through her mental database, the ship's alarms suddenly started blaring.

Immediately, she turned her attention to the ship's stats and flight path, where she soon found out that the ship had detected an incoming cosmic anomaly.

It was a space storm.

The magnetic kind.

Standing in her platform, W.I.L. analyzed the data provided to her by the ship's system and swiftly realized that the storm encompassed a huge area in space. There was no way for her to maneuver the ship out of harm's way in time.

It was approaching fast.

Knowing this, W.I.L raised her arms and carefully used them to touch the HUD she could see in front of her. Swiping a finger to the left, she slowed down the Dark Matter Booster to prevent the ship from colliding head first into the magnetic storm at breakneck speed.

Soon her holo arms were a blur as she moved the HUD dials, buttons and levers to control the ship into moving through the magnetic storm cautiously. It hadn't even been an entire minute when she could sense the ship being sucked forward quickly into the Eye of the Storm.

When she realized this, she instantly braced herself and secured her companions' cryogenic pods.

A moment later, the ship started shaking and moaning as it got dragged and thrown around by the magnetic storm. The lights flickered inside the ship as the storm interfered with the ship's own magnetic field.

Still linked to the ship, W.I.L. had no choice but to use all her knowledge to keep the ship afloat and intact. She was doing all she could to prevent the ship from disintegrating from the effects of the dangerous space weather.

She also watched out for other alarms that would indicate something else was wrong. And as expected, it began blaring once more and W.I.L. was soon flooded by notifications of the ship's stats.

As she maneuvered the ship in such a way that would lessen any potential damages from the storm, W.I.L suddenly sensed something from outside. An all-consuming awareness that caused her to freeze on her platform.

There was something vast and alive out there. Something that made her feel insignificant if compared to it.

Something that was curious about her, curious to know what she was, and her capability to transform into light.

It felt like a gaping maw had opened its mouth and was ready to devour her holographic figure.

Then, W.I.L. had no way of stopping the inevitable.

She could not fight it when she sensed herself being torn out from the ship's mainframe. But before her light figure was sucked out into the awaiting storm outside the ship, the last thing she did was to activate the protocols to protect her companions while they were still in cryogenic sleep. The protocols that would wake them up once they safely arrived into a habitable planet.

She clenched her teeth when she got drawn out into the chaotic void outside the ship.

Afterward, she found herself tumbling heads over feet amidst a bright, violet wave of light. It danced and whirled across the vastness of space. Its beautiful appearance was a dichotomy to the magnetic maelstrom within.

The light disturbance was perilous and potentially damaging to the beast ship, which she could see struggling from the corner of her eyes where it groaned pathetically.

No sooner than she saw the whirlpool of purple light, W.I.L experienced pain. An unimaginable pain as her body was suddenly shifted from her human figure and back into her hologram form constantly. She dematerialized and materialized in space. It felt like she was shredded from the inside out before she was reconstructed again.

She felt like her life was in the hands of the storm.

During her repeated and agonized transformation, she managed to sense the ancient and sentient being in the magnetic storm through her pain-filled mind. The entity slowly stripped away her resolve as she was nearly driven mad from the excruciating agony of her constant transformation.

As if the sentient being within the storm was trying to figure her out, whether she was human or something else entirely.

She continued to gasp and writhe in pain. To add more to her tortuous experience, W.I.L became overwhelmed by so many images. She saw a planet full of winged and tailed beings, beings capable of becoming visible and invisible, like her. It was a planet that had been seeded with life. A perfect place where the Supreme Ruler and the others could start anew and create progenies from their genetic code.

W.I.L. soon figured out that the images she was seeing were the dreams and wishes of the space wyvernmen in cryogenic sleep. These were visions of a far better future if compared to the state of the Nyptherium in the Nexi Galaxy, where the Mata ruled.

Still fully conscious of everything that was happening around her, W.I.L. suddenly heard a ghostly whisper, which came from the ancient and anomalous entity within the storm.

It spoke to her in an amalgamation of images and languages that she vaguely managed to interpret by herself.

"What are your dreams? What do you wish for the most, maiden of light?"

It showed her the question and it also spoke to her in a dead language, which W.I.L. didn't know how to respond to.

How could she do so when she was being torn apart, phasing from one form into another and still in complete agony?

Yet the question lingered in her mind.

It seemed significant somehow despite her current state.

W.I.L. knew that she had never dreamed before. If she ever did dream during her development in the gestational chamber, she didn't remember it.

She also did not truly comprehend what it was about even though she had viewed the dreams of her creator and that of her companions not a moment ago.

However, as for a wish…

W.I.L. had no other desire but to make the Supreme Ruler's dreams come true. That was only her wish. To seed a planet where they could create their own progenies from their genetic code.

That was all she wished for and the ancient being within the storm must have seen her wish because it suddenly spoke to her again in a dead language that she could finally understand.

"Consider your wish granted, little one. The world you and your companions dream of will come to pass. There will be a world where all your wishes will come true, but be warned of the trouble afoot once you have reached your own time and destination. Not everyone will be welcoming there," the voice said to her.

Afterward, the entity simply vanished and the storm finally calmed down right before she was released from its hold.

However, the beast ship with her companions in it was long gone.

W.I.L was left alone in the black void for a long period of time while in her holographic form.

Time passed differently within the void and it was not until a flash of light appeared when she was dragged back to reality.

But by then, she didn't realize that time had passed swiftly without her knowing.
