Pass Parade

//Sorry about the short chapter, but I've been super busy. Next chapter out in a bit.

-----------------------------

The bright lights, one powered by the fiery sphere hanging in the sky, shone down, illuminating the vast forest below and brightening up the dazzling green hillside where a lone young boy was lying unconscious, situated on a large clearing. This, provided with the scenery of immensely large trees positioned in the background made for a very picturesque landscape, as if it was a scene from a movie or painting. The brilliant rays looked to be absorbed by the boy's pitch black hair, of which complimented his light complexion, giving him a sort of glow up, as if he had just got out of a photoshoot. Besides those two oddities, the boy didn't look too out of place and one could almost assume he was sleeping with how majestic an image he created.

Zetuo slowly opened his eyes, blurry and unseeing black hues coming into existence as the youth blinked once; Twice; Three times as he struggled to get his bearings. A soft wind kicked up, blowing over him and ruffling his hair as the young man finally regained some of his senses, his eyes staring up at the bright blue sky above him.

Everything was fuzzy, though Zetuo's senses were once again working properly. His brain didn't appear to have any desire to operate as it was intended to, only giving him enough cognitive functions such as freedom of movement and use of his five senses. The black haired youths thought process struggled to go anywhere and even attempting to remember small things such as what he ate that morning was a huge hassle. While his body didn't hurt him in the slightest and he could even move pretty well despite just having regained consciousness, Zetuo found that anything pertaining to recent memories was severely flawed.

(("Pretty damn strange considering I have photographic memory,")) Zetuo muttered internally, the rusted gears in his head finally beginning to turn, allowing him to think to some degree. (("First time I've ever had to struggle to remember something."))

Bit by bit, every detail of his own past, every piece of knowledge that Zetuo had gained over the years returned to him, his brain finally regaining some sense of normalcy. He still had no idea where he was or even how he had gotten there, but he didnt worry about it too much as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. His pitch black hues ran up and down the length of his own body, checking to make sure everything was still intact, assuring that he still possessed all four of his limbs. He didn't recognize the clothes he was currently wearing, a ragged dark shirt, long black cargo style pants, and no shoes but that didn't really bother him much. Looking at the bigger picture, he was mainly ecstatic about simply being alive and unharmed then concerned about what he was currently garbed in. He didn't understand what the hell was happening, but being alive was always a plus in his opinion.

(("Unharmed body aside, the question that now comes to mind is, where the hell am I? How did I get here? I dont seem to be in any immediate danger, but I still need to be on alert.")) Zetuo ripped his eyes away from his own figure, shifting his focus onto the area around him, something he had neglected to do due to his temporary amnesia. (("Analyze the surroundings. Process it. Then take the appropriate actions necessary for survival. Never know when misfortune will strike."))

Looking around, there actually wasn't much for Zetuo to take in, everything being rather simple and not too complex.

Sitting on top of a small hill, Zetuo was in the middle of a small, oval shaped clearing with massive trees lining the edge. Lush green grass reached from the center of the clearing, where an enormous lone tree was positioned, all the way into the maze of forestry that lay beyond Zetuo's line of sight. At the bottom of the hill sat a huge egg with varying blue dots curling all the way around it, something the black haired youth had certainly never seen before.

(("Middle of a forest but not the small one near New York. It's far too quiet and peaceful.")) Zetuo shook his head lightly before pushing himself up and onto his feet, dusting the dirt off his newly acquired cargo shorts. (("I dont know how I got here. Maybe my pursuers dragged me over to this place? No, that wouldn't make any sense since I'm still alive and they were clearly out for blood. Maybe a passerby found me when I passed out and decided to help? But then why would they bother putting me in the middle of the woods? Doesnt really make sense. Also, that egg definitely doesnt seem like a run of the mill kind of thing."))

As the black haired youth mentally flicked through the possible explanations, examining each and every plausible angle, he began making his way down the hill, heading for the egg at the bottom of it. Upon getting closer, he realized just how big the object actually was, standing at about two feet tall, larger then even an ostrich egg, of which was regarded as the largest egg in the world. When he picked it up, Zetuo almost fell forward from the shock, it weighing far less then he had expected it to, it being only around 10lbs in total.

"That's...pretty cool actually," Zetuo noted aloud as he held the egg at arms length, carefully observing every inch of it. It was the first time since his awakening that he actually designed to speak and his voice came out slightly raspy. "Does it actually have something inside of it or is it fake? Feels pretty real to me."

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!

Zetuo immediately looked up from the egg clutched in his hands, a small buzzing sound catching his attention, a sound that was steadily growing louder. As someone who had trained his senses well over the years, the black haired youth was quick to pinpoint the exact direction and position the annoying shrill was emanating from. With the growing intensity, the buzz was akin to a large swarm of angry wasps after their nest had been disturbed. It was very unsettling to say the least.

Without any hesitation, Zetuo ran back up the hill, hoping to gain some height in order to better observe the oncoming cause of the sound. The shrill buzzing just got louder and louder, it filling the vast area with its deafening noise, even forcing Zetuo to plug up his ears with his own fingers.

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!

Then, without any warning, three figures darted into the clearing, two girls and one guy moving in a full on sprint as if their asses were on fire. For the briefest second, they all made eye contact with each other, looks of terror meeting one full of caution and curiosity. Then, without a second glance, they continued to run, heading to the opposite end of the clearing and disappearing into the woods.

(("Fuck.")) Zetuo cursed inwardly as he realized what was about to happen. (("They were being chased."))

The moment he made the connection, about a dozen creatures flew out of the forest, crashing through the treetops with no hesitation. Large, 3 foot tall, flying monsters reminiscent to that of enormous bees on steroids, flew towards Zetuo, red eyes now focused on him. Having lost their previous prey, they now set their sights on the black haired boy in front of them.
