Aria of the blood fae
Volume 1: Prologue.

Volume 1: Prologue.

Akari looked up at the sky and shielded his eyes from the scorching sun. As expected from a town in Hosnu. He thought. He has been touring these streets now for two weeks and his vacation was about to end. Today was his last chance, after that he will have to travel back home and get ready for the start of the new semester.

It really is a beautiful day to go for a walk outside. He thought as he took a deep breath of air, but his goal today was not enjoying the weather. His eyes were darting left and right scanning the faces that passed him by.

His sources, which were mainly his friends have concluded that the person he was searching for lived somewhere around this area. They of course also wanted to come but could not because they lacked the capital for it. At least that is what they said, he was pretty sure most of them did not get permission from their parents.

He felt so lucky to have such understanding parents, They ran a martial arts dojo back home so it was only understandable that they would agree to him leaving once they found out the reason, or at least half of it.

I am not only here for an autograph. Akari thought as he tied the sash around his waist tighter .

Further down the street Akari stumbled across a commotion. A large group of people standing around looking at something. He couldn’t see what it was but his guts told him to investigate.

Could it be? Akari thought as he started maneuvering through the crowd of people, until he could finally see what has caused the ruckus.

There were two men facing each other, The first man looked about 19-20 and had blonde hair, a tank top with a military camouflage pattern, and a knife in hand. His opponent was a short, bald man, wearing a sleeveless karate-GI that revealed his trained body. He had an overbearing presence that made anyone who looked at him want to back off, and a mean face that could make the most hardened street thugs piss at the very thought of crossing his in a dark alley at night.

The bald man was standing there looking at his opponent in a calm manner. While the blonde man was hesitating seeing how calm his opponent was against an armed combatant.

They continued to look at each other like that for what seemed like half an hour but couldn’t have been more than five minutes, which set everyone’s nerves on edge waiting for one of the two men to make a move.

The silence was only broken when the bald man decided to speak up.

‘’If you attack me with that knife, you better be prepared for the consequences’’ He said spreading his feet and getting into a strange stance, that almost felt amateurish in nature, but Akari knew better.

The blonde man is in danger. He thought while looking at the scene unfolding before him.As he was about to step forward to stop the fight, he felt a hand on his shoulder, and looked back to find an old woman standing there shaking her head.

‘’its alright young man. Impulsive young boys come from all the surrounding towns to try and challenge little kran, he is not going to hurt him much.’’ she said. Akari then noded and decided to settle down.

The blonde man lost his cool at that moment and decided to go in for a quick attack. He lunged forward with his knife trying to stab Kran in the stomach, but Kran sidestepped the attack, and then he grabbed the blonde man’s wrist with both of his hands, twisting it behind his back, forcing the man to his knee. The blonde man let out a cry of pain as the knife slipped from his fingers.

‘’STOP, STOP!’’ he yelled while tearing up. ‘’i give up!’’

Kran then let the man go, and kicked his back sending him sprawling on the ground. He then turned around and walked away, the crowd of people opening a path for him.

Akari looked at the man lying on the ground, and saw something bulging at his back pocket, but he decided to ignore it.

He looked around a little and saw Kran walking away. He decided to catch up to him, but he had to struggle through the crowd of people, once Akari came out he couldn’t see Kran anymore. His eyes detected saw some movement around a corner up ahead, and decided to go for it. He rushed to the place and saw that it really was Kran.

Akari followed after him, until they came to a meadow outside the town. It was a beautiful place littered with sunflowers, a gentle summer breeze making them dance, and the place had an air of serenity about it that calmed the heart.

Akari stood behind a tree. clenching his fists, and taking relaxed breaths trying to calm his racing heart. He had no doubt that he was found out a while back and was just being led out of town.

As he took one final deep breath, he came out from behind the tree and walked up to Kran. He only stopped once they were face to face.

He couldn’t believe his eyes, the man standing in front of him was none other than , Kran thomas. He was proclaimed to be the greatest Karate master that has ever lived, and was known as Kran the typhoon, because he stormed through all of his fights making his opponent feel, as if he was a gentle zephyr in front of a typhoon.

‘’Are you a practitioner?’’ kran asked.

Akari jumped up slightly, and nodded looking down at his karate attire.

‘’y-yes.’’ he answered. He then took a deep breath, and locked eyes with Kran, steeling his resolve. ‘’I have come as fellow practitioner of martial arts to challenge you to a spar.’’ He said bowing his head.

The area was quiet for a while and all that could be heard was the breeze.

Akari started getting worried and looked up a little, only to find Kran staring at him with a wide grin.

‘’I will be honored to accept.’’ Kran answered bowing in kind.

‘’ah, no the honor is all mine’’ Akari said

then both of them straightened up and got into stances. Akari was faced once again with the strange Semi.stance Kran has used against the blonde man. He himself has adopted a traditional stance, with one hand on the waist and the other on chest level for blocks.

Akari knew that he couldn’t afford to let Kran attack first, so he decided to attack first. He dashed forward towards Kran and started barraging him with a flurry of kicks and punches and punches trying to get him of balance but they. were all sidestepped or deflected.

Akari stepped back. Trying to catch his breath. Kran was mainly known for his offensive fighting style. yet all he had done since they started to fight was defend. As soon as he thought that, and was about to ask why. Kran straightened up and squinted at Akari.

‘’That was pretty good but now...’’ he paused, while cracking his knuckles. ‘’it is my turn’’

He rushed at Akari and went for a straight punch towards his chest.

Too fast! Akari thought hurriedly and put up his hands to defend his chest, but as soon as he did that, his side flared up in pain, and he felt as if a truck smashed into him but in reality it was Akari’s foot. His eyes squeezed shut from the pain. he stayed like that for a minute his back hunched forward from the pain then straightened up his legs shaking but with a smile on his face.

That hurt like hell. He thought looking at the now smiling Kran. He took a few deep breaths, and once he felt like he could breathe again, he rushed at Kran again, trying to get at least a good punch in but that was a mistake.

huh? Akari thought as the world turned upside down for him and his back slammed to the ground forcing all the air out of his lungs

He had never seen such a quick shoulder throw before.

‘’You win’’ Akari said while still on the ground. Kran standing then came over him with a smile and stretched his arm out for him.

Akari shook his head still feeling dizzy, smiled up at Kran, took his hand and sat up.

‘’you did a good job. what is your name young practitioner’’ Kran asked.

‘’Akari sir.’’ He looking down.

Kran Guffawed and slapped Akari on the shoulder.

‘’No need to be so tense Akari.’’ He said. ‘’You have not practiced Karate for long have you?’’

‘’ah, how did you know?’’ Akari asked.

‘’well for one your stance is as traditional as it gets. which is good, when practicing the forms but in a real fight, its not practical.’’ he said in a lecturing town with a smile on his face.’’ most people fail to realize this but karate is an intuitive fighting style, once you have mastered the basics and developed your body enough you can create your own variation on traditional stances.’’ he continued.

‘’is that what that weird stance was?’’ Akari said his eyes open wide as it dawned on him.

‘’Yes, exactly.’’ Kran said with a smile and a nod. ‘’fighting is not dependent on how strong or fast you are. Or about your ability to do a roundhouse kick or not. of course those are important factors but..’’ he paused ‘’ It is about how fast you are able to adapt to your opponent’s fighting style, understanding how he thinks, what his next move is going to be, and changing your style accordingly. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is also an important factor to victory.’’

Akari was honestly surprised by this, not the information, that was valuable as well, but he would never have thought that Kran was a talkative person.

Akari looked up at the sky and saw that is was starting to get dark.

‘’Thanks for the help and spar sir.’’ He said as he stood up. I need to get ready for my plane soon. He thought as his shoulder slumped.

‘’its fine its fine. just call me Kran’’ Kran said.

‘’Alright. K-Kran’’ Akari said still feeling nervous about speaking to his idol so casually.

‘’I live in the temple area, on the other side of town.i can walk you home ‘’ Kran said.

When they both were about to get going they noticed a man with blonde hair standing beside a tree a short distance away from them- it was the same man that Kran had beat earlier and he was now pointing a gun at them.

Akari froze up, but Kran just looked at the man casually.

‘’You prick! you will pay for what you did earlier.’’ the man said, a malicious smile on his face.

‘’Are you sure you want to do this? i do not take kindly to threats.’’ Kran said his voice low.’’i recognize that gun you are holding right now, an old style gun that can only fire one bullet.’’ he paused. ‘’ After that you are going to need to reload. are you willing to take the chance? because after you fire that gun, i will show no mercy.’’ Kran said.

The man gulped, but still kept the gun up.

I just can’t stand here, i have to do something. Akari thought, recovering from his shock.

*snap*

As a snapping sound rang out behind the blonde man he was distracted by it for a second, but that was all Akari needed. He rushed the man, but before Akari unarmed him, he managed to fire a bullet.

Yes he missed. Akari thought as he punched the man on the face, knocking the gun from his hand and rendering him unconscious.

‘’Yes, kran we did it!’’ Akari shouted as he looked back at kran. His whole body froze up as he saw kran fall to the ground a red stain blooming on his stomach and Soon a pool of blood, started forming under him.

NO, NO IT CAN’T BE! Akari rushed to Kran and turned him over with care, he was still conscious.

‘’Kran can you hear me?’’ Akari said as he gave Kran a firm but gentle shake on the shoulder. ‘’stay with me!’’ he shouted as he fumbled in his pockets trying to find his phone. ‘’ I am going to call an ambulance! you are going to be alright’’

He then felt something on his hand and saw it was kran. He looked at him, his eyes clear and understanding. He shook his head.

‘’Its all- alright’’ he managed to groan out, while coughing up blood. ‘’Train….diligently’’ He wheezed. ‘’i am glad… to have had… a student…. even… even… if it was just... for a while.’’ He said, and then his eyes started losing focus, and the light in them dimmed gradually, until there was nothing left, but a cold lifeless corpse...

Author's note: Well there goes the first chapter ladies and gentlemen. There will be a four days interval between each release, that is my plan and i am hoping to stick to it.

Tell me what you think i should work more on, and what i am overdoing. also comment on any confusing parts. honestly this is just the prologue so i didn't take it too seriously as i was just stretching my fingers so to speak, and sadly poor Kran had to die :(

some of you may have noticed the painful lack of capitalized first words and I's for that i am sorry, i will hopefully get better at not overlooking them.
