CH-5 The Angel from Hell

CH-5 The Angel from Hell

Make me weak, weakest of all and I will still come and get you

“Chose yourself”

I will make sure to make you regret your decision

Every person has two faces, one that everyone sees each day and the other which no one would want to see, and the world had awakened his second face

He walked down the hallway with a slow pace, his face a blank canvas devoid of any emotion.

From a distance, Elina spotted him and approached him

Her lips curled into a mocking smile, a cruel satisfaction gleaming in her eyes.

“He did right to you, you are so pathetic, you could not even fight back, it was so funny watching you in that pity state of yours”

He was just standing there still with no response

“Why are you just standing there, answer me dammit” frustration creeping into her voice

She didn’t realised at all that he wasn’t Jace….. it was a devil, to whom she was talking to

“Reply you pathetic exis- “

Arecus grabbed her from her head and smashed it to the wall and it was an instant death

Arecus continued walking down the hallway.

“Who was that girl……. You should think, to whom you are talking to”

He looked down at his hands

What’s up with this body…. It’s so well built but it’s so weak

He suddenly looked up with a slow, chilling smile spread across his face

“Looks like the fun is about to begin” in his heavy devilish voice

And then, the alliance attacked.

The earth trembled violently, the ground beneath shuddering as if it were alive, quaking with terror as countless beasts descended from the sky. Arecus stood amidst the chaos, looking up at the apocalyptic scene, his laughter echoing eerily through the devastation. There was no fear in his eyes, only a twisted joy

He turned towards a nearby wall, still grinning, and with a punch, shattered it into rubble. Beyond the debris was the basketball court, now a scene of horror. Two of the beasts were there—creatures that seemed born of nightmares.

I can’t explain their whole appearance, but they looked like giant fusion of a lion and a spider

One beast was hunched over, feasting on the lifeless head of a student, gnawing at the remains. Nearby, a security guard lay on the ground, his body bloodied and broken, but his resolve unshaken as he shielded a small group of terrified students. The second beast, more vicious, was closing in on them, ready to finish the job.

Arecus stepped into the scene. He stood still, his eyes coldly observing the carnage, watching as the beast tore through the guard’s body with brutal efficiency, leaving the students screaming in terror before silencing them in a spray of blood and soon killed all the students

Arecus was standing still and watching them

The beast then turned its gaze to Arecus, its eyes burning with primal hunger. The other beast, still consumed by its gruesome meal, seemed oblivious to the new arrival.

Arecus's eyes gleamed with excitement as he faced the beasts. A dark chuckle escaped his lips, filled with mocking disdain. "You're even more pathetic than I remembered," he taunted, his voice dripping with contempt. "Your leader was defeated by bunch of mere humans. Does he have no shame showing his face on Earth again?"

The beast snarled, its eyes burning with rage at Arecus's words. Every syllable seemed to stoke its fury further, its muscles tensing as it prepared to strike. But Arecus remained unmoved, standing still with a cruel smile on his face.

In a burst of anger, the beast lunged at him, its claws slashing through the air. But in the blink of an eye, Arecus vanished from its path. He reappeared behind the beast, his voice low and menacing. "I don't care what you do to humans… but you dared to attack me, you low, filthy existence. Your fate is now sealed."

The beast, now blinded by rage, roared and charged at Arecus again. This time, it managed to land a blow, its claws grazing his chin. A thin line of blood appeared. Arecus paused, touching the scratch with a smirk.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

And Jace got his first scar

"Even though I'm not used to this body, and nowhere near my prime, you managed to get a scratch. I'll give you that," Arecus acknowledged with a hint of grudging respect. His eyes then darkened, and his voice dropped to a deadly whisper, "But now, you die."

With blinding speed, Arecus surged forward. His kick connected with the beast's torso, the impact so devastating that the creature's body was torn in two, its lifeblood spilling onto the ground.

The second beast turned, its predatory eyes locking onto Arecus. Blood dripped from its fangs as it let out a low, menacing growl, the air around them thick with tension.

Arecus smirked, his tone laced with dark amusement. "Are you looking for your buddy?...… I’m sorry, but he’s dead." He gestured casually toward the lifeless remains of the first beast. The creature’s eyes flared with fury, its muscles tensing at the realization of what Arecus had done.

"Yeah, it’s me who killed it," Arecus confirmed, his voice taunting, daring the beast to make a move.

With a roar of pure rage, the beast charged at Arecus, its claws ready to tear him apart. Arecus, unfazed, slid into a fighting stance, his body coiled and ready. The air around them crackled with tension as the beast closed in, its every step shaking the ground beneath them.

The smile of arecus faded, he was serious now……. He held his fist backwards and looking in the eyes of the beast which was approaching him

Can you feel the rage….. I know you can, I can feel it too. The anger burning inside of your soul

Yes, come at me, with everything you got

The beast, claws extended like jagged blades, launched itself at Arecus with a powerful leap, its roar echoing through the air.

I am sorry but you are going to die because I am stronger

The impact of Arecus's punch had obliterated its skull, leaving nothing but a grotesque mess where its head once was…… killing it

Jace suddenly became aware of his surroundings as if waking from a dream. He found himself walking down a street, but something felt off.

"Why am I walking this way? My home is on the other side of the road," he muttered to himself. His body ached, and a wave of nausea hit him. "I should head home."

Jace turned and made his way back, feeling increasingly uneasy with each step. When he arrived, his mother was waiting anxiously at the door. The moment she saw him, she rushed forward and pulled him into a tight hug.

"Thank God, you're safe," she whispered, her voice trembling with relief.

Jace blinked, confused. "What do you mean, Mother?"

"You don’t know? There was a huge earthquake near your school… I was so worried."

"An earthquake?" Jace repeated, still trying to process her words.

Yes, everything was advertised by media as an earthquake, they couldn’t possibly go saying that there were aliens falling from the sky and we are in a war against extraterrestrials and moreover people would rather believe in media than their own eyes

Something about that didn’t sit right with him. The details felt fuzzy, distant, like trying to remember a fading dream.

He touched his chin, feeling a sharp pain. When he pulled his hand away, he noticed blood on his fingers. A sudden, inexplicable fear gripped him. Without a word, he turned and sprinted back toward the school, ignoring his mother’s frantic calls behind him.

His heart pounded in his chest, and the world blurred around him as he ran faster than he ever had before. He tore through the wind, shedding his school coat as he pushed himself to reach the school as quickly as possible, driven by a feeling he couldn’t quite understand.

Jace sprinted to the school’s main gate, his heart pounding with fear he couldn’t fully comprehend. When he arrived, a new notice board caught his eye. His breath hitched as he saw a list of names—the students who had lost their lives in the earthquake.

His entire body trembled as he approached the board. With shaking hands, he began looking at the list, his eyes desperately searching, his soul screaming, please, not Elina or Vance...

And then he saw it—her name.

“Elina.”

It felt like the ground had given way beneath him. His knees buckled, and a choked sob escaped his lips as he collapsed to the ground. The tears came uncontrollably, and the world blurred around him. As if nature itself mourned with him, the sky opened up, and it began to rain. The cold droplets mixed with his tears, but nothing could wash away the overwhelming grief that consumed him.

He pounded the ground with his fists, his cries growing louder, more desperate, as if sheer volume could bring her back. "No, no, no!" he screamed, his voice cracking. "Elina, please... please don't leave me!" His sobs grew uncontrollable, each one more agonizing than the last. The pain in his chest felt like it would swallow him whole, a dark, bottomless pit of despair that he couldn’t escape.

As the rain poured down, Jace’s sobs echoed through the storm, a heartbreaking symphony of loss and love unfulfilled. He couldn’t stop crying, couldn’t stop screaming, because in that moment, nothing else mattered for him…….. He just saw Elina

As Jace’s grief consumed him, he suddenly felt a crushing pressure in his chest.

He opened his eyes again, he was lying in a hospital bed

Did I collapse…? He could see the ceiling, the dim lights above him, but when he tried to move, his body wouldn’t respond. Why can’t I move? His thoughts raced, and then it hit him. Was it clotting? Yeah…. no wonder a human body can’t endure the blood of Amberion.

He struggled, forcing his will upon his unresponsive limbs.

Come on, you have to move, dammit!

With a surge of determination, he finally managed to sit up, gasping as he regained control over his body.

As he looked around. A woman was sitting on a bench nearby, her face buried in her hands as she sobbed. Who is this woman? Arecus thought, his mind searching for answers. I remember… it’s Jace’s mother. Why is she crying? He no longer exists.

Arecus stood, ripping the wires and tubes from his body without a second thought. The machines around him beeped in alarm, but he paid them no mind.

As he rushed out of the room, Jace’s mother looked up, her tear-streaked face twisting in confusion and fear. “Jace, where are you going?” she called after him, her voice trembling.

But Arecus didn’t stop. He moved until he reached the rooftop. The air was cool, the hospital perched on a mountain overlooking the city. The world spread out before him, vast and teeming with life. He could feel the breeze against his skin

He spread his arms wide, feeling the power surge through him, his gaze locked on the vast horizon. The world felt small from up here, like it was within his grasp.

With a wicked grin, he tilted his head back, letting the wind whip through his hair. The sensation was intoxicating, the thrill of being alive, of being unstoppable.

“I am taking this world!” he shouted and ships were falling towards earth in background
