After fiinishing his breakfast.Exant kissed his daughters forehead and went to the door.As soon as he opened it he saw someone with a village mage outfit deep in thought.Exant coughed a little to get the attention of the mage and then continued by saying:''How can i help you sir?'' in a kind tone.

The mage seemed to be shocked for a moment but then he seemed to regain his composure.After regaining his composure the mage responded to Exant by saying:''I am sorry to disturb you sir but i sensed a huge mana release in this area.I wanted to ask if you knew anything?'' in a tone matching Exant's.

Exant considered his options for a few seconds.He could simply kill the mage by incinerating him but he decided not to do so due to his extreme kindness.Another option was to erase his memory but he could figure out his memory was erased due to being a mage.The last option was to feign ignorance until he came up with a better plan.After considering his options he decided to say:''I am sorry but i am not very knowledgeable about magic but i can ask my maids if you want.'' in a calm tone.

After pausing for a moment the mage responded to him by saying:''I haven't heard of anyone rich enough to hire maids.When did you come to our town sir?'' in a tone that encouraged Exant to talk.In return Exant responded by saying:''I arrived to this town yesterday and i bought this house from two girls living together.They also decided to serve me as maids so that i could settle down because of how generous i acted towards them.'' in a calm tone.

The mage seemed surprised again.Was he a guy who got surprised by every little news?It was always a possiblity since nothing important happens in remote villages or so Exant thought.While Exant was gathering his thoughts mage gathered his composure and said:''Sir would you consider coming to my office.'' in a tone that made it seem like an order and then he quickly added:''Do not think yourself as under suspicion.I just want to meet someone that has just arrived.Remote villages like ours don't get many new people afterall.''

It was obvious he was suspecting Exant and he didn't want to bother with the whole questioning process but refusing would raise even more suspicion.In the end he decided to agree due to the fact that he could get the mage to introduce him to mayor as an apology for this whole mess.

John's point of view

He had sensed an explosion of mana near the edge of town.As a mage it was his job to investigate such things in case they are wild mages or beast transformed by magic.But he was feeling lazy at the moment so he decided to investigate in the morning.What was the worse thing that could happen in a remote village like this anyway or so he thought.

In the morning after breakfast he ordered his maid to bring him his mage robe.His maid asked him if there was a meeting she hadn't heard of today but John said:''Not really.I just felt something and i think i should investigate.''The reason maid asked this question was unless there was a meeting or a party John would never wear his robe.

After wearing his robe.He called out to a farmer passing by and said:''Excuse me but have you seen anything suspicious happen last night.''The farmer suddenly turned white.It was the natural reaction when you met a mage because even if they were in a small village like this they could hang anyone in the suspicion of contracting with evil beings.

Farmer responded to John by saying: ''I saw a glow in that house''  while pointing at a house and then farmer added:''I saw nothing else and i haven't seen or talked to anything unnatural sir.I swear to god'' in an extremely scared tone.John responded to this by saying:''Thank you for your help.You may go now.'' with a tone that said 'Leave now you scum' instead.After hearing this farmer went towards the farmlands with an extreme speed.

John went to the door of the house and he was about to knock when he noticed there could be a beast or worse in the house.He could go into a house with fireballs at hand but if there wasn't a beast in the house it would scare people inside the house and it would make getting information an extremely hard task.While he was thinking these he heard a cough and then he heard someone say:''How can i help you sir?'' in a kind tone.

John was surprised because he was considering something at that moment and he wasn't used to people talking to him in such a tone.After his initial surprise passed he said:''I am sorry to disturb you sir but i sensed a huge mana release in this area.I wanted to ask if you knew anything?'' in a similar tone to the person in front of him.After all if someone could act towards a mage in such manner then the person in question had to be someone important.

The person in front of him seemed to be considering something and then he said:'I am sorry but i am not very knowledgeable about magic but i can ask my maids if you want.'' in a calm tone.The fact that the person in question had maids confirmed the fact that he was of nobility.John decided to ask him exactly when he came to town and hope he was a person that spilled the beans as soon as something was asked to him like other nobles..In return the noble in question responded by saying:''I arrived to this town yesterday and i bought this house from two girls living together.They also decided to serve me as maids so that i could settle down because of how generous i acted towards them.'' in a calm tone.

This was supposed to be a place where thieves and whores lived.Even farmers preferred to live inwards.Someone agreeing to being a maid for a noble seemed unthinkable.This was getting suspicious so he said:''Sir would you consider coming to my office.'' as an order after all even a noble wouldn't defy a mage if the mage spoke in a tone like this but then he decided to not to make him suspicious so he quickly added:''Do not think yourself as under suspicion.I just want to meet someone that has just arrived.Remote villages like ours don't get many new people afterall.''

Authors Note:This chapter was mostly made of characters speaking to eachother so in John's point of view you might see a lot of parts repeated.I am sorry for inconvenience.
