Arcanemigration ch2 settling in

Time slowly crept by as screens and info was scoured through. It took time but eventually I came to understand most of it. So traits are separated into three parts the soul traits show my character, the mind traits show my personality and the body traits show my build and physique. They all have a rank on how rare they are in this world. Some are a little annoying for me tho my isolationist , strange and paranoid traits for example i'm not so fucking anti social to have three traits. I had a family damnit. But it isn't false. I have always been very bad with people. I was super lucky to find my wife without her I would never have had friends. Aside from that glum reminder I also have abilities and those are just things that I can do and if I look hard enough at them they all have a progression bar, it's just empty so I didn't notice it before. There is no level but if it fills maybe i'll get something. And then my stats are just a numerical metric for my aptitude for different areas of expertise. From what I can tell it's like most games, 10 seems to be the bassline.

There is also a map function but it is useless, it just shows me what I can see right now. And a lot of other games esc things that just have no use for me at the moment. Trying to talk to the system is equally pointless.there is also an area for quests and people but they are blank at the moment so also pointless. Honestly I thought going to a new world would be magical, not naked goblin bashing covered in blood and guts. But here I am toughing it out. Maybe I can find a use for this stuff. Let's just try some stuff I guess. If I have a perfect memory and a map shouldn't be everywhere I have seen it, it's not like I forgot how many rocks were in the hall or that there are 43 mushrooms in the rot room. Suddenly the map filled those areas in on its own as I was remembering details. “ Well shit no, notification or reward tho damn” I then go over every where I have seen and it fills but if I try to look over areas I haven't been it just stays black. My map is odd though it has a top down view and can be 3D if I focus. No skill or ability yet tho idk maybe just need to keep trying.

Bumbling over other things eventually a quest pops up in the menu when I decide to make some tools while focusing on the quest page. But it only says what I thought , nothing else. This is annoying. So eventually I found rocks of a good shape for a few different tools. The goblin tools are frankly sub par and easily surpassed. But can be used to make better ones. So order of operations what tools will be needed in this environment. First will be the first tool man ever made a sharp rock. I know i have those but these goblin tools are not made from good rock or wood they will break before i make my own. So I scour the cave and eventually find a flint stone and after looking for a chunk of granite deeper inside I have my start. Sadly they are both super rough and not smooth like a river stone that I would need but go to try. After an hour I get a chip of stone about the size I need and sharp. Only a basic scraping tool but a good start as all things go. Then spending 3 hours I chip away at the flint to make a knife, it's not perfect but I can work on that. I go to my bone pile and grab a goblin femur . Taking it to the boiling water, I set it just inside to soften. While sitting there I tried water chipping so I put my knife in the boiling water also.

An hour goes by while i check all the water for the coldest and like u guessed the moving water is near frozen. So taking off one of my shoes I go back and use the goblin axe to get the knife out and before it touches the cold floor I grab it with the shoe leather. Running over to the steam setting it down I drip cold water onto the edge and shards fling off just like I watched on youtube.

It takes half an hour but the knife gets very sharp and a bar for the handle is made.

Doing the same as before I pull the bone out of the water and use my shoe leather to hold it while I push the knife handle into the end of the broken bone and squeeze the bone and tie it tighter with that gut I have left. And submerge in the stream to cool. After a while I pulled out the finished knife. And amazingly it has a prompt over it.

[FIRST WEAPON MADE]

DAMAGE: +2 SLASHING AND PIERCING

BONE HANDLE: DURABILITY +3

Well finally the system does something for me. This is a good start. Basic tools are very important to get settled in. so step two should be something to defend myself and humans were always good with spears so i go and collect some branches from the trees outside breaking two of the goblin axes in the process but i get a big enough hard wood branch about 5 foot long and a few 3 foot long ones all straight enough to work with and some fiberouse plants to use along with that i gather some tree sap for glue. On my way back I collected some scattered stones for my use and repeated my process from earlier to make spear heads, one big one for holding and 5 smaller ones for throwing. After binding them with a notch at the top and using fiber and sap to glue it in place I then char the branches to fend off rot and weathering.

DAMAGE:+4 PIERCING

REACH: +5

CHAR: +2 LONGEVITY

{SHARP STONE THROWING SPEARS}

DAMAGE: +3 PIERCING

RANGE +25

CHAR +2 LONGEVITY

Looks like everything I do adds to the usefulness of my weapons. I mean realistically that is evident but it shows with the stats i also make a weave holder for my knife at my side and throwing spears on my back. Now is the hard one. I need a real stone axe and hammer/chisel to work with bigger wood and some stone.Eventually I find a huge smooth rock in the stream about 150lb and to my luck it is granit after that I slowly roll it to the side of the stream. Finding some smaller granite stones I grind them on the rock over and over shaping them. Sadly my fire almost goes out and I rush to grab as much wood as I can to keep it going when I see eyes in the brush. Caveman time wooh time to not die.
