Starting Floor 1

Starting Floor 1

As I went down the tunnel, I started claiming much deeper into the walls in preparation for floor changes. I soon began to realize that there must be something special about these caves as there was a treasure trove of materials around that for all intents and purposes probably shouldn’t be side by side.

*Blueprints Acquired: Iron, Lapis Lazuli, Fire Agate, Rainbo Fluorite, Rainbo Quartz, Coal, Dimond, Gold*

It was only a small deposit of each but even still that’s not how that’s supposed to work. I mean it's great for me but there's definitely some kind of magic fuckery going on around here and I plan to find out what!... eventually I still got a lot of work to do and so far, this has only been beneficial to me. There seemed to be something coming up in the cave so I focused me attention on it. The cave suddenly opened up into a breath takingly beautiful large cavern at least a few Milles across. A crack in the sealing shined a ray of light down on massive crystal tree creating a fractal of colors throughout the cavern. To the right came pouring in a waterfall from Another crack. Polling into a small lake before dropping again. While on the left there was a small fountain of magma bubbling up from the earth. The magma and water then met around the tree spewing smoke and steam into the air forming what almost looked like clouds near the sealing. It was the most fantastical thing I've seen since I arrived in this new world. Hoping for the greatest plant pair of all time with that obviously magical tree. I quickly identified the it to see if it could be super charged with the deadly lover.

*Crystal Tree: While not actually a plant It does resemble one. Created from an explosion of chaotic mana these are extremely rare. While it is made from mana crystal if someone tried absorbing any of it the chaotic mana would shortly rip them apart*

While a little disappointing it's still extremely interesting. I wonder how so much chaotic mana came to be to create such a large tree... I decided ill find out eventually and got back to claiming and taking samples of the entire cavern... and so taking way more time than I expected. (It was starting to get hard to grow much bigger with my amount of mana.) Probably a few days' time in fact. I have claimed and gotten everything I could out of this cavern. After going over my spoils it will finally be time to create my floor plan and spawn my creatures.

*New Material Blueprints: Water, Magma, slate rock, Mana crystal, Drift wood, Granit, Salt, Mana stone, silver*

The mana stone seems to be the stone that’s been saturating in mana around the tree. Identify says its slightly stronger and Magec resistant compared to normal stone. The real sketchy bit was when I tried absorbing a flake of mana crystal off the tree. Even with my control over Arcane the raging mixture of mana that came out of it made me feel like I was going to crack! Leson learned I should real heed more importance to any system warnings. But the real Harvest was the creature Blueprints.

*New Creature Blueprints: strangle weed, sea weed, Dragon fly, cat tail reed, Luminescent plankton, salmon, crawdad, water treader, Spitting Minnow, Cave Viper, Weeping Willow, Venus fly trap, Miskito, Cicada, Sparow, Snail, Lesser Elemental Wisp, Magma Crab*

The magma crab was only the size of a fist and the lesser elemental wisps were only specs of light almost no bigger than me. While almost everything else is almost harmless. I think I have a few ideas to take care of that. But first thing first I need to redo the path down here. It's not a completely strait shot but it's still a bit to linear for my liking. I started widening parts of the cave into small rooms of sorts for larger enemy encounters. And narrowing others to funnel people into traps and ambushes. Added hall ways that lead to no ware and ones that cercle back. I added Brick walls and large pillars throughout to give it the feel of ancient ruins of sorts built into a natural cave. I constructed small tunnels and cubby holes covered in a thin layer of moss for my creatures to jump out of. I also created a few ponds and puddles for spitting minnows to spit water into people's eyes to give other creatures an opening. Or crawdads to slip out of the water and snip peoples Achilles tendon. For traps I created thin lairs of slate that if stepped on break and fall on either magma or spikes of mana stone with mana crystal tips that will hopefully pierce threw enchanted gear or shatter causing a mana explosion. I also made a couple trip wire traps from vine that have a few deferent affects. A cupel made on an incline that if activated release a large boulder to roll down and crush them. Or one that’s attached to a simple mana spiked spring trap. Thers a couple hanging vines that if disturbed will shower someone in spiders and scorpions. Or my simplest trap that is just hole that will release way too many mosquitoes. But my favorite trap and probably the most dangerous is in the final room. Theres a wall of vines you need to get past that if you're not very... very careful in removing will collapse part of the ceiling which is filled with lava and lava crabs. And of course, I added a variety of gem stones, gold, and silver to lure people into traps and reward those who survive.

For the cavern I wanted to go less trap and more monster oriented. I was going to create the spiral stair case too floor 2 under the crystal tree, so that’s the end point. And while the smoke and steam were a bit of a deterrent, I was planning to create a few traps and creatures around it just to make sheer they stick to the given path. Which is a bunch of bridges connected to a ceres of small islands to go across the entire place before finally circling back to the crystal tree. I sparsely placed some vegetation and my 2 kinds of trees around the islands all with their own deadly lover and making sheer they have rich soil filed with lots of worm and grubs... Now how to make my creatures and plants stronger so there actually of any use?
