I lived in a apartment in the town called Paradise. The whole room was dark and quiet,

This place was the only thing seperating me from the outside world. The only sounds that could be heard

was my own breathing and distant knocking from outside the room.

*Knock* *Knock*

"Hello? Is anyone in there? Please help me..." a weak voice called out from behind the door.

I slowly walked toward the door's peephole to see who was there. It was a young man around 18 with blue eyes and short blond hair styled in a faded undercut. He wore a tight white t-shirt with some ripped jeans. The man was clearly running away from something and he had a 9mm in his hands. When I looked closer there was some obvious blood stains on his hands.

"Who are you? And what do you want?" I asked. "Please let me in, there's something going on out here!" He yelled.

I was ready to walk away from the door until I saw a strange figure slowly staggering towards the man, it was another person but his eyes were blank white, and he was covered in blood with a missing arm.

"God damn it, let me in!" He shouted.

I knew something wierd is going on. I panicked and opened the door. He quickly dashed inside, shut the door closed and lock the door.

Bam! Click!

"W-what was that? Was that a man?" I asked while still looking out of the peephole. "Because I'm pretty sure people

don't normally go staggering with a bloody missing arm around like that!"

"I don't know what they are, but what I do know is that they should be

avoided at all cost. Trust me, on my way here I've seen many peoples got eaten alive by them and even got turn into like them." He replied.

*Sigh* 

The young man sat down on the couch in the living room and turned on the Tv. "First off, I'm Aiden." He said as he was finding a pillow to lay on the couch while he was watching Tv. "So, are you going to introduce yourself too?

Or are you just gonna stare at the door all day?"

I turn around and saw the man sat down on my couch without my permission.

"You're acting pretty comfortable for someone who just barged into a women's apartment." I said as I walked over to him. " My name is Jessica and would you mind moving over?"

I threw a pillow at Aiden's face as he got up to give me some space on the couch."Ow, rude." He said.

"So uh, what are we suppose to do about that thing outside the door?" I asked.

"Simple, we kill it, duh." He replied with a smirk on his face.

Suddenly a "Breaking News" report appeared on the Tv and caught our attention,

"This is Charlie Rudding reporting live for Risen News, and as you can see here, there is some kind of virus

spreading and its making people go out of control. We are not too sure yet where this virus has come from. All we know is, it is a disaster for all mankind. We are trying out everything to research it orgin and the way to cure it. We will do whatever we can to prevent this virus from going out of control and cure it. For now we call this dangerous virus "Virus X". Whatever you do stay inside and await for further report. This is not a joke. If you encounter one of these creatures, do not engage, I repeat, DO NOT ENGAGE!!!"

 "Fuck man, this world has really gone downhill." Aiden complain.

Speechless about what I just witness, I simply just stared at the Tv as it broadcasted the horrors

of the outside world. There were countless of those creatures running loose in town and peoples

running in fear for their lives.

"Hey...What are we going to do?" I asked.

"What do you mean we? I only ride solo, honey." He replied. I punched him in the shoulder as hard as I could and tried to walk away

but Aiden grabbed my arm. " Ouch!" Hey hey, I was only joking, I got a plan. We'll head outside and try to

find some supplies. We can use your apartment as a safehouse for now." He said.

"Are you sure it's even safe to go outside? What about those...things?" I asked.

"Of course it's not safe, but come on, how are we gonna survive without any supplies? We won't last long with

the things you have here already." Said Aiden. I stared at my refrigerator...He's got a point.

I nodded with agreement and took a look at the door remembering about the man outside that very spot.

"We should get some rest first. Where's your shower? I gotta clean up if you haven't noticed." He said as he waved his hands back and forth in the air. I showed him the shower and went to into my room. Knowing that the next time I wake up, I'm going to be facing something beyond my imagination.

I walk over to where I put my tamahagane.

I took a tamahagane off the wall next to my closet. The only reason why I even have a thing like this is because it was passed down to me by my grandfather. All my family has been practicing the ways of the swords/katanas for generations. I was force to learn it since I was a kid. You could say that practing the ways of swords/katanas was our family traditions since the Edo period. I've heard from my grandfather telling me that our family was a famous noble samurai family during the Edo period many times since I was a kid. 

I placed it on the table in the kitchen to prepare to bring it with me later. While Aiden was taking a shower, I've decided to cook us

some food before we rest.

I wasn't a great cook but I can at least make something edible for us. So I just made some toast, cooked up some bacon and fried some eggs and placed it on the table.

"Aiden, I've made something to eat, hurry up with your shower!" I yelled as I started to take a bite out of a piece of toast and ate some eggs.

A few minutes later I heard the water stop running. So he must've been done. 

"Woo, you made some food for the little ol' me? How sweet of you." He smile charmingly as he said as he got out of the

bathroom. I turn around and saw his smile, somehow it makes me want to punch his face to get that smile off of him.

Though I have to agree he got one heck of a charming smile. But now that I take my time to take a good look at him,

I've to admit he is pretty good looking is just his personality that is stink. I guess even though god gave him good looks but also gave him a flaw. Well, anyways none of my business.

"Shake myself out of my own thought". "Don't flatter yourself. It just so happens that I had some extra for you." I replied.

"Psh...Sure." He said.

"Okay, I guess I'll just have to finish this up all by myself." She said.

"Ah..my bad, my bad, I'm sorry." He said.

"Apology accepted." She show him a cunning smile as she said.

"Urrhhg." He groaned.

I then took a clear looked at him only to see that he was completely shirtless with a towel hanging

around his neck. I could clearly see that has a nice physique, he had some pretty nice abs and his

muscles can be seen.

"Hey, put a shirt on!" I yelled, hoping that he didn't noticed my blushed cheeks.

"Woops, sorry, force of habit." He said and walked back in the bathroom to get his shirt I assumed.

We enjoyed the little meal I cooked and I headed to my room to sleep while Aiden took the couch.
