'What is it that you wish for?' A voice slides into my ear as I meditate on my bed, my daily ritual before sleep and shool. My eyes flicker open slowly, gaining my bearings. My bed still under me, looking around the room calmly to find where the voice came from, it comes again.
'Your world is ending boy, you have three wishes before it does. This is the apocalypse, the end times. All of humanity's wildest dreams and nightmares may or may not be coming to fruition. All modern technology will no longer work, this is the world of the sword and spear, the bow and javelin, magic and strength. You must fight to survive or die, weakly. You have 15 seconds. Make your wish.' My mind races as I snap out of my trance. I answer without thinking, of what I would like at the end of our world, in a world of death and mayhem.
'Your will be done, boy. You are quite decisive. Good luck.' Information feeds into my mind.
"Your wishes have been granted! You wished for a game system to feed you power through your actions! The system already exists, so you are granted the ability to pick your starting stats as well as 2 races from all worlds to choose from!"
"Your second wish was for the ability to pick any race you wished! You were already given this right through your first wish! So you are given the chance to pick from 1 legendary race, 2 rare races, 1 rare race and 2 common races, or 4 common races!"
"Your third wish was for the ability to live perfectly fine with no sleep! This wish has been granted! When your stamina is completely run out, you may simply meditate to regenerate, instead of sleeping!"
I look around me, and the world seems to be almost paused, everything from my neck down has no feeling and can not be moved. My body feels numb. A screen pops up in front of me.
"Please pick your race(s)"
"...."
I look through the gigantic list and decide to look at the list of Legendary races first, and get stuff like Vampire Lord, Werewolf Chieftain, Dragon, Crimson Elf, Demi-God. 'Combining races will likely make something much more death defying than even a Demi-god if I do it right,' I think to myself.
I skip to rare and it just seems to be the same as the Legendary races just down a level, all except one that says Lutgre. I have absolutley no Idea what It is, unlike all the other races on here and press it.
"A magical race of the world of Lutregouna, the Lutgre are unable to use magic but instead are entirely dependant on magic to survive, needing only to be in a magic rich area. As a race, they aren't exceptionally strong, but over time, depending on the magic that surround them, have magic come out in their attacks, movements, and even excretions. +1 to Str, +1 to Agi -1 to Int/Wis per Lvl."
'Interesting, magic isn't something I feel comfortable with, I'd rather rely on my own body, than on something foreign to myself.' My mind begins to work as I decide to pick it immediately and work on to common races.
More of the same is in the common races, so I choose Orc, which gives me +2 to Str, +2 to Vit, -2 to Dex per level. My body first turning tan and close to 160 cm in height, shortening me by quite a bit. To then tan with green tint and 190 cm. my ears elongating like an elf's.
My last pick is harder, but I decide I need to replace the Dex from the Orc and the highest Dex race in the common section is the only race with no negative, Demon, which gives +3 to Dex, and +.5 to Agi and Str per level. Two new horns grow from my head, skin breaking as I feel the horns tear through and go slightly up and along my head until it hits my hair, and a tail comes from my lower back swinging a few times to let me feel the muscles and get used to it then pausing as well. the tail along with the horns covered in scales, crimson black in color, my skin, which is still tan with a green tint, but slightly more pale.
"New race created, Lutgre Demon Orc, Would you like to change the name of your Unique Race?"
I decide to name my race simply, "Dorgre".
An out of body experience happens where I look at myself. my facial features still the same besides the horn and eyes which are dark red where the whites of my eyes used to be, a black cross where my pupils once were, my irises turning a deep, soul piercing grey.
"Race confirmed, Dorgre! Please allocate stats!"
-Name: Jeffrey Zeale -Class: (Select Class) -Race: Dorgre
-Str: 0 -Agi: 0 -Vit: 0 -Dex: 0 -Int: (Cannot allocate) -Wis: (Cannot allocate) -Charisma: 10 -Luck: 10
Unallocated points: 60
Hmm.. I guess 17 to Dex and Vit, 16 to Agi, 10 to Str.
-Name: Jeffrey Zeale -Class: (Select Class) -Race: Dorgre

I press with my mind on select class and another screen pops up in front of me.
"Select a class"
"Race only compatable with three classes, Warrior, Stealth Warrior, and Dorgre Warrior! You may only pick one class forever, your class will level up after the first 5 levels, then each 10 levels after that! With Each level up you may select one bonus to your level up attributes based on the class you picked and you actions."
"Selected Unique Race only class, Dorgre Warrior! Bonuses to Mana Body's release of mana in all attacks that come from weapons! +1 to Agi Per level, + 1 to Str per level, and +1 to Vit per level! You may also select only one weapon proficiency with this class!"
The same voice from the beginning comes into my ears and resounds throughout my body and even shakes my soul, my consciousness barely holding on.
'Welcome to your end, boy.'
The world renews slowly coming out of it's pause as I stumble off of my bed trying to get to my feet, due to my newfound weight and body's stats.
I stand slowly from the floor, getting used to my new body, my muscles somewhat faigued from the stats melding with my body for the first few seconds. I stretch and get myself aware of my surroundings.
My ears started ringing as a new voice came to my head. "J, it's E, come to the Court. The Leader would like to talk to all of us. This may be the end, but it could be our beginning."
E, or Evan Screlk, is a classmate of mine from a school that's just a front for a secret organization of people with supernatural abilities, that before the apocalypse were basically useless, but now may have some semblance of use. E has the ability to project his mind into other's to see what they see, feel what they feel, and communicate with them mentally.
A semi-useful ability, as others can tell easily when he uses it on them. A-la the intense ringing before he connects to you.
I respond with a nod, closing my eyes in morse code, telling him where I was and how long it'd be until I get there. He responds in the affirmative, and I move out, calmly walking into the school's single apartment's kitchen to grab the box of energy bars and several waters from the pantry, throw them into my backpack along with 3 of my medium sized kitchen knives.
Checking outside from the window in my bedroom, seeing nothing but fog, the outside is noiseless, except for the sparse scream and growl from something that sounds quite large.
My sight changes as my ability, thermal vision, activates and I see moving shapes that look like humans but about 1.5 times larger, weapons in club form, 3 of them walking towards the apartment building, more shapes in the distance that I can't see because of the fog's heat blurring anything beyond 15 meters.
I gently open my second story window and drop down, grabbing the sides of the building, my new body nearly losing grip on the ledges from clumsiness.
Touching the ground without noise, bushes along the walls of the building hiding me from view, along with the fog. I sneak slowly behind the humanoid shapes, not really caring whether they were humans once, deciding to simply kill everything I don't recognize, and ignore anything that isn't directly in my way.
I come up behind the straggler, making as little noise as I can, my body becoming more familiar to me. I use the kitchen knife to stab through his spinal cord, while grabbing his mouth. He stops completely without making a noise, I bring him slowly to the ground, and move on to the next two.
They're walking directly next to eachother, each checking their surroundings, I grab the one on the left when the one to the right looks right, pushing my knife into his back, slightly harder this time, because of the blade dulling from the blood and hitting bone from before.
The other one notices me too late as I stab my knife frontwards directly into his throat, killing him instantly. While I'm lowering him quietly, about to grab what I can from their bodies information flows into my mind once more.
"You've gained one level, please find a safe place and meditate to level up!"
"Congratulations! You've killed 3 High Humans! Gained 100% exp towards level 1!"
"For killing those who were once your kin, but are now nothing more than obstacles in your eyes you've gained the title, 'Decisive Killer'. It gives a bonus to accuracy when using daggers and small bladed weapons!"
"Sensing the use of weapons, would you like the weapon proficiency, 'Small Bladed Weapons'?"
"Warning, chosing this proficiency is unchangable and you may not pick another do to your class, are you sure?"
"Congratulations! You've gained the weapons proficiency, 'Small Bladed Weapons'!"
Active Skill(s): Small Bladed Weapons (Beginner Level 1, 0%)
Innate Skill(s): Thermal Imaging (Max Level)
Passive Skill(s): Mana Body (Beginner Level 1, 13%)
I nod my head slightly as I check the bodies, finding nothing of any use except for a KABAR knife in a sheathe on one of their belt's, taking off the belt and putting it on myself, I move forward slowly to the next apartment building across the street, my thermal vision still on my head slightly ringing from over use, putting it out of my mind and ignoring it I see several people hiding in their homes, in all shapes and sizes.
Moving through the buildings slowly, and gingerly, I see several people who aren't in my direct way, ignoring them. My stamina from being slightly stressed seemingly unaffected, with warmness constantly ebbing and flowing from me, which I assume is the Mana body passive.
I come to the entrance and see a group of around 6 people fighting off a giant humanoid shaped being, and losing hard. With no weapons in hand and fighting with simple magics I assume you receive upon gaining such a class.
The giant utterly destroying them as 3 men and 1 woman already dead, all that's left is what appears to be a woman, I assume a mother seeing the child in her arms.
The giant moving towards them, chewing on the bones of an arm of one of the men he slowly comes upon them.
The woman screaming for help as I stand by and do nothing, emotions not appearing on my face.
The giant crushes the woman and child as it picks them up with it's gigantic hands, the child's cries falling on deaf ears as it quiets, the woman's sobbing slowly receding from the surrounding.
As it goes in to the euphoria of the kill and leans down to start eating I rush out as quickly as I can, taking out 2 kitchen knives, I step go up a 2.5 meter fence behind it and jump off landing on it's back my arms around it's neck, my knives digging in deeply to the sides I hang on for dear life as it thrashes trying to get me off of it.
The skin on my hands coming off of the hard plastic as I hold on for dear life, the more thrashing it does the deeper my knives go into it's skin and the more blood it loses.
It slows down steadily, crumbling to the ground. I jump from it's neck in a back-flip, in it's death throes trying to catch me with it's arms flailing one final time before falling to the ground.
I wrap my hands in one of the dead people's shirts after tearing it in two, not realizing the speed at which they're healing.
'I need to move quickly, I've made too much noise,' I think to myself as I start running towards my school's walls, hopping the 3.5 meter walls quickly...
