The streets were busy that evening, crowds, and crowds of talkative people surged the walkways as they muttered on about their busy days and their busy lives. It was midday, cars were speeding down the road, blasting out heaps of dark charcoal like smoke from their exhaust engines.
Today the streets where full: kids were being walked back home from school, suited-up salesmen were running in order to catch the latest trains and the elderly people were going to the supermarket on a scavenger hunt to find their needed groceries.
Everything was normal. Everything was how it was supposed to be.
The streets were a blurry buzz full of people who were squished together like a sandwich, and in this densely packed crowd was a boy of around the age of 16 or 17. The young adolescent had an average build and was around 5"11 with easily distinguishable messy ash-grey hair, with cold red eyes that burned into the soul of anyone who dared meet them. His face was plastered with a look of annoyance and disdain, as if every second something was agitating him.
"Ahhh so fucking noisy, why can't half the planet die or something. Then maybe it just might be quiet for once", Kaz thought to himself internally.
For him, all these normal things were an unnecessary inconvenience, Kaz had just come back from another monotonous day of school. His heart and body were aching as if they were pleading for rest. His muscles were clearly on their last straws. It was if he could hear their tiny little voice's condemning him yet seeking for help, save us, save us they cried out.
This was all his teacher’s fault. His body was heavy with fatigue thanks to Ms Belle's 1-hour long lecture in which she extensively talked about the same thing again and again and again. Hitler this... Nazi this... Cold war this. All Kaz heard was yada yada yada... typical teacher bullshit.
Why couldn't his teacher just summarise the lesson notes, or only tell him the important parts for the exams, like a normal person. Was it that hard? Clearly, she was abnormal, maybe a zombie he thought to himself jokingly. Gosh, the only cold war he was invested in was Call of Duty Cold War, which he would soon be playing when he got home.
Tired and bothered by the cacophony of noises surrounding the streets, Kaz decided to push his legs into full action. Kaz, was a lazy boy who didn't enjoy doing anything that resulted in him physically exerting himself. He was a grandmaster of the art of laziness, a couch potato; someone who wouldn't do something unless it was absolutely necessary. If it were possible to cultivate with just sheer laziness, Kaz would be in the realm of the Gods. Yet, this lazy boy was running. Running.
Normally, you would never catch the boy running, after all running was hard work. However, there were a few exceptions. He was a man of ideals. Yes, a man of ideals. Weighing the benefits of running vs the agony of putting in effort he came to the most logical conclusion. Run all the way home, after all it was only a 5-minute run, how hard could it be.
In the end, he came up with the logic that if he was this close to his house he might as well run anyway. Just like if you were playing a game and were near a save point, you would obviously travel to the save point. Only a heretic wouldn't. Furthermore, all the noise surrounding him was unbearably loud and uncomfortable helping him further back up his choice; the clamorous sounds were almost as uncomfortable as his lack of rest.

Despite all these adverse conditions this wasn't enough for him to make his decision.
After all, the quote 'a lazy person is always the perfect person to do a job, because they find the most efficient way to do it' didn't come out of nowhere. Using 100% of his brain power, which was a lot, he came to the conclusion that the faster he got home, the faster and longer he could relax at home. Mind-breaking, breath-taking, bedazzling logic, a 3000 IQ move truly.
Sprinting at the pace of a snail he managed to complete an amazing feat, making a 5-minute run journey into a 10-minute run journey, truly the work of a master. If this were a video game a message saying hidden trophy, Slomo king would definitely pop up.
Although, he was incredibly slow none of that mattered now as he had arrived home.
"Hugh, hugh I can hardly breathe!", he shouted out as his lungs desperately engulfed as much air as humanly possible.
"Never...running...again!"
He took a few minutes to catch his breath, before frantically searching his pocket for his keys.
"Where are they, where are they... agh here they are."
Spotting them, he dragged them from the underworld realm of his school trouser pocket. After grabbing them he quickly inserted them into the keyhole, penetrating the lock system. With a quick turn to the right the door opened with a CLICK.
"Home sweet home!" he shouted out jubilantly. It was as if he had one a 10,000,000-yen lottery. "Yippee!” After his short-lived celebration he called out to his sister. "Sis you here!"
It took a few minutes before he heard an answer.
"Yes, you dickhead, I'm in the shower", she responded back aggressively.
What was it with older sisters? Why did they have to be so aggressive?
If he could choose a sibling it would most definitely be a younger sister, not a normal young sister though no that wouldn't be satisfactory.
Kaz had standards...standards that had to be met; he wanted a young sister that absolutely adored him. Yes, that sounded wonderful. Only a young sister that shouted "Oni-chan I'm back home, I love you big bro", would be suitable. Aghh what a perfect sibling that would be.
Deranged and fanatical he tossed his bag onto the sofa, waking up from the pipeline of a dream that he was having. As quick as a cheetah, he grabbed his game controller from the table switching on the PlayStation.
"Wonder if anyone is online", he muttered to himself excited to finally be able to relax and relish in the comfort of playing video games. It had been a tough week and today was Friday, the best day of the week, he was definitely not going to let it go to waste.
Just as he was about to click the game a pounding headache, out of nowhere, surged through his head causing an incredible, overwhelming amount of pain to consume him.
"Ahh what is this!" he shouted out in frustration and pain as he clenched his teeth together in a futile struggle to keep himself sane. Bit by bit, the headache continued to gnaw at him eating away at chunks of his vitality. Each time it got a bit stronger, levelling up gradually like a tremor warning before a big earthquake.
That's when it hit him, a massive burst of pain unlike any other jolted down his body, it was as if his internal brain cells, followed by every other cell in his body were being savagely ripped and torn apart. The pain was truly agonising, was this hell he was experiencing?
Confused, hurt, and disorientated, Kaz ended up stumbling over the table falling onto the cold hard floor. The floor was rock solid like a boulder, and his already pounding head smashed onto the glossed bedrock. "Aghhh shit!" he tried to yell, his words blurring out.
Trying to climb himself out of the predicament with a trembling hand he attempted to get himself off the floor in a bid to stabilise himself. However, it came to no avail he was just simply too weak right now. It was then during his endless struggle when he heard it.
